Thats good penguin, fingers crossed. I'm still spotting a little, had some braxton hicks but nothing else of note. Good job you can book for fri, as I've read that if you have two close together its more effective.
Im not due to see anyone till next weds now - back to the consultant at the hospital.0 -
Vanilla & Penguin I'm glad the sweeps went well.
Snow It really bugs me when people are so pushy about their views on baby rearing and feeding. Try to take some deep breaths and ignore the best you can
Arbrighton glad you have been able to get some better sleep
Firebird Glad baby is ok, always good to get checked.
Forgot to say at last week's midwife appt baby was 1/5th engaged and do I know itplenty of sharper pains and heavy feeling down there.
Enjoying the sunshine but also not :rotfl: finding if I sit out putting my feet in a bowl of cool water really helps.
2/3 more weeks of work left and 5 til due date.Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
Mum to two boys :heartpuls0 -
April, I've got some hi5 zero tablets- one in about 3/4 pint of water. And it's better sleep i.e. 2 hours then loo then 4 if I'm lucky
Today has, for reasons I can't quite see, just been TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much. I did have a lot on, and seemed to be driving back and forth across the same bits of road a lot of times. And I was dressed for cooler weather so over heated. And had tutoring. Which in itself is usually ok but last of the things and had to try and make arrangements for half term next week, then discovered by the time I'd got back to the car I'd double booked myself so got back again.
So I got home, wedged my bump between mine and OH car, gave myself cramp wiggling out then cried at him....
Fortunately he's being amazing this week.0 -
Sorry you had a hard day arbrighton. When do you finish work?
I'm loving the sun generally but did get a little overheated on the train on the way back from work today. Not wishing it away at all though! Only thing is my maternity dresses are all a bit short so I will be stuck with my black maternity jeans over the next couple of days. Fine in the air conditioned office but was so glad to strip them off when I got home.
Just today noticing more loo trips (and so disappointing when you only wee less than a glassful!!!) and feeling increased pressure in my pelvis so wondering if baby has moved down further. Midwife said he/she probably wouldn't move further before labour but definitely feeling it!! Unless baby's just having a growth spurt and thus heavier? I don't know but it is quite uncomfortable when upright. Luckily not too bad when sat.
Breastfeeding class went well, think I now have more of an idea on how to miss out on common pitfalls and hopefully get good breastfeeding established asap.Cleared my credit card debt of £7123.58 in a year using YNAB! Debt free date 04/12/2015.
Enjoying sending hundreds of pounds a month to savings rather than debt repayment!0 -
I finish tutoring 2 weeks today and only going on this far as it's *only* two or three hours a week and they're exam year groups. It's ridiculous that I cannot even manage to cope with that.0

Glad the class went well, snow.
I have clients booked in right to the 8th June - with the proviso that they may need to be rescheduled at short notice! But I really need OH here when I'm done to crack my back for me.
We put the car seat into the car yesterday so I feel better that, that's done
I popped into Aldi for ice lollies on the way home from picking up my daughter earlier and it was SO nice and cool. I'm not used to the heat down here yet (Essex) so it's been difficult. Nice to have nice weather, but its not easy when you're this big0 -
Thanks Penguin, I brought it up with OH when he got home, and he's prepared to do the bulk of the work tonight but he knows that we won't be able to shift much as a lot of it is baby stuff. He'd also rather get the help when it comes to moving if it comes to it. I see his point so we shall see.
Hopefully the sweep comes to something Penguin & Vanilla. And glad to hear they weren't painful.
The time will fly New.
Glad to hear you enjoyed your class Snow.
Arbrighton don't be too hard on yourself. Pregnancy is tiring and it's hard to slow down. Hopefully your next 2 weeks of tutoring are easy going and take some time for yourself.
Sweet I've been obsessed with the mini twisters the past few weeks. I seem to go through boxes of them 😂.
Dropped OH at work this morning and decided to get down to the beach for a walk. So glad I did, but boy I didn't think it would be this warm so early on. Didn't take no where near enough water and had to stop for a good 10 mins. Not that I minded, the view was absolutely stunning. Would think I was abroad and not in Scotland with the sunshine we've got0 -
Vanilla and Penguin - Glad the sweeps went well, fingers crossed it gets things moving for you, mine is booked for next Friday.
Snow - Ive had a strange reaction from MIL about breastfeeding - we were in Boots and she commented on the price of baby formula and OH said "I don't know, she's going to be breastfed' to which MIL replied 'Ugghhh' Tried not to take it to heart, there was a lot of aggressive formula marketing in the 60's & 70's and I genuinely think that that generation think it is better. Never mind the fact that its illegal to advertise first stage milk on TV (much like cigarettes) or to offer promotions, loyalty points or sales on it either.
Incidentally, for anyone on Facebook, there is a group UKBAPS (UK Breastfeeding and Pregnancy Support) which is a great community where you can get help with any breastfeeding issues.
Have a good day everyone!0 -
Arbrighton- hope you're feeling a bit better today. Don't be too harsh on yourself, you have a lot going on at the moment. I hadn't truly realised the impact work was having on me until I stopped.
April- the beach sounds lovely! We've just sat out in the garden for breakfast and it is scorchio already.
I've had what I think are gentle contractions all night, but don't seem to be going anywhere fast. Reading online it sounds a lot like early labour, which can last for a few days. Just going to relax and try to stay cool today and see what happens. Think I will see if I can have another sweep tomorrow if things haven't moved forward.0 -
Thanks All, I think I had been doing so well with mood/ anxiety (my mum tells me, in an honestly supportive way, that she's surprised how well I've coped with pregnancy...) that this week has hit me hard
Oh has been very good and gently said to me to just potter about today. We're off away to Oxford for the weekend tomorrow and discovering that I hadn't *actually* booked the hotel when I checked last night just sent me into a bit of a tizz. Sorted now (for more money of course) but so excited about going to see friends at their wedding, hang out watching the rowing and spend a long weekend.
Currently VERY glad I decided to buy maternity shorts. larger dog was so hot that she flopped down in the shade within sight of the house on our walk! Smaller dog went for a swim in the river. More willingly than she normally does!
And, as we're away for the long weekend, I must finish off the hospital bags and pop those/ my notes in the car.0
