Arbrighton- apparently tonic water is also meant to help, might be worth a try?

April- hope you're feeling a bit better. I think hormones are just so all over the place, although I have been much calmer the last 2-3 weeks, but about week 37 I was a bit of a mess

We've just finished doing the nursery- put pictures and stickers up. It is so cute! I was telling OH that that was why baby wasn't here yet as we hadn't finished his room.

oooh there is a bottle of tonic in the usually useless booze cupboard. Even the yukkiness of that on its own might be outweighed by a night of sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

    Thanks penguin!

I can only assume that this little monkey keeps lying on (or playing with!) a nerve because every so often, i get one od rhe worst pains known to man right at the bottom of my back

I actually almost gave OH a heart attack when we were driving to his mum's last night - I practically stood up out of my chair in the car :o I looked at his face and he'd gone white as a sheet and was asking if this was a contraction. I couldn't speak till it was over but reassured him it wasn't. When he stopped the car, he took my hand, kissed it and thanked me for doing this for him, and for us :o

Hitting 37 weeks tomorrow and just want baby out now as well.

Fingers crossed, you're soon penguin! X

Sorry to hear you're having troubles Sweetbabu, hopefully you'll get a chance to chill out and relax today?

Did the tonic water work Arbrighton? Fingers crossed you managed to get a decent nights sleep...we didn't - think OH overdid it yesterday, as was up half the night with neck pains, and then the new washing machine turned up at 6:45 this morning  Good to have it sorted, but a rather alarming way to be awoken! Still, it's SOOOO much quieter than our old one, so at least this one won't deafen/waken the baby (apart from the stupid tune it plays at the end...).

Hoping there's progress Penguin, now the nursery is finished! That's my job for this week - sort out some storage for baby clothes, and do quite a lot of tidying!

OH banned me from doing too much yesterday, so I did spend a good portion of the afternoon snoozing in the garden, which was lovely. Hope I get to do a bit more of that today! I've started getting some slight, well, I wouldn't quite call them pains, down below - I'm guessing this might be braxton hicks? I was expecting them to be a lot more obvious! I mostly only notice them overnight, when there's nothing else to think about. Have been drinking the occasional cup of raspberry leaf tea, but not being very religious about it, as mostly I find myself wanting normal or peppermint tea instead!

    How's everyone else doing?

Last full week of work for me! Had a nice time with DH's cousin, her husband and their 4-month-old over the weekend. Cannot believe how much he has changed in the last 3 months! He's a very happy smiley baby and now interested in everything going on and wanting to get involved. Watched a nappy change and bedtime routine so hopefully I'll be able to replicate with some confidence in s few weeks...

Yesterday marked one month until my due date. Although I know I'm ready, seeingvtge sheer responsibility and life changes a new baby brings did give me slightly cold feet... DH seems to be getting more and more excited though so at least one of us will do fine!! I'm sure I'll come round to it when I'm holding my baby in my arms :)

Had a wonderfully relaxing Sunday afternoon sunbathing in our half-finished garden. Even though it's a work in progress it's already so much better than before which is wonderful. Slowly making our house our perfect home. Hopefully landscapers will be nearly done by the end of this week. We'll see! Otherwise they may still be here when my maternity leave starts which isn't ideal.

Parents in law got back from 10 weeks at their second home abroad this weekend. Seeing them for dinner on Tuesday. I imagine they'll be fully into grandchild-countdown-mode now they are back... (first grandchild on both sides). My parents have just gone away but only for 10 days - they are back next weekend.

Sending good vibes to penguingirl and others who are well into the waiting game (april87). Checking regularly for updates! So excited for you all!

Ummmm I'm not sure the tonic water helped sadly but I have had a notification that the electrolyte drink will be delivered today.

Also bought a job lot of nappies- tesco have deals on pampers and own brand at the moment. I bought size 2 as I'm not totally convinced bean will ever be below 6lb which is the lower end. And I have a single pack of size one that was kindly given as part of a bundle of bits in a homemade patchwork bag from family friends. Also several packs of cotton wool pads, since the texture/ structure makes them a bit more likely to cope with meconium etc apparently

Arbrighton just delurking to say Clara didn't go into size 2 until she was about 9lb. Size 1 just fitted more snugly and was less liable to leaks! So worth having some of each and see what fits your bean best :-) we had only bought size 2 and had to go out to get the size 1s!
