Hi all not had a chance to post but been popping by to catch up. Hopefully baby comes along soon Clara.
Another one who doesn't want to buy anymore maternity clothes, i ordered a new pair of jeans from H&M in the sale but they didn't fit so I have given up!

Having a bit of a nightmare with my midwife appointments, saw consultant at 32 weeks who then said I should see community midwife at 34, however i haven't seen the community midwifes at all yet and have had a nightmare getting in touch with them to get an appointment.
Have raised it in an email with the PALS team at the hospital so hope to get something sorted!

Having a tired day today, must pack hospital bag!!
  • Hello Ladies
April - I love my NEXT Ultimate skinny jeans - I think they were £40 which I guess is quite pricy but they are super comfy! - I am reluctant to buy any more clothes but I did order a pretty white camisole and a pair of linen wide leg trousers from Jojo which arrived yesterday, the top has been great for todays hot weather but the trousers are too long (which everyone in the reviews said too) but I like them, so am going to hem them.
I spent most of yesterday in hospital, I was getting worried about babies movements which I think I said in an earlier post and the worry was stressing me and stopping me sleeping. They did a heart trace and said all seemed perfect but are sending me for a scan to be on the safe side, which was supposed to be today but now looks like being tomorrow. Hope everyone else is good? - 30 weeks today for me!

Thanks for the tips ladies. I just think I'm fed up of not having a decent pair of jeans when I used to practically live in them. I went out and got a couple of £13 midis from Zara in the next size up. Definitely easier to wear than a pair of jeans and they come in handy in the nice weather.

Life glad to hear baby is well, they don't half give you a scare when you don't feel them move.

Is anyone suffering from a sore/uncomfortable pubic region. I find I'm getting quite sore when I separate my legs and it's another annoying thing that wakes me up throughout the night

I have 5 (!) pairs of maternity jeans from Gap and they are all wonderful! I have a mix of inset panel (which means they are hipster height at the front which elasticated panels at the side but have a fly like normal jeans) plus some full panel. They all look and feel great. Couldn't recommend more. I personally am a big fan of the look and feel of "real" denim and found the jeans at the likes of JoJo, Mothercare to be too elasticated; plus a terrible fit on me. These jeans honestly look like regular jeans and you can't tell they're maternity at all if your top is long enough (which all maternity tops are of course).

They are supposed to be £45 each but I think I've paid anything from £15-30 per pair due to Quidco, easily found voucher codes, some pairs in the sale etc.

I think the inset panel jeans are going to be better for summer than the full panel due to the extra layer over bump... at this late stage for us all might be wise to size up an inch: my first pair are only just now at 29w starting to feel a bit tight.

Scan, thankfully, was absolutely fine. Baby is about 3lbs 9oz and actually looks to be slightly under 50th percentile when I look at my graph. Put it this way, if he continues to grow the way he is so far, he'll be born (at term) at the weight the midwife suggested he was at the moment!

And we got a little picture of his face, which I can't stop looking at :o

Glad scan went well sweetbabu, and hope yours does tomorrow lifebegins.

Busy weekend here, and I was quite anxious about having so much on, but we enjoyed the wedding yesterday and the weather was gorgeous. My birthday today and we had a lazy morning sitting in the garden (OH was 'tired' and also had a headache last night, of course unrelated to all the wine at the wedding...) and we've been for afternoon tea with my parents on a canal boat. Canal boats are not particularly designed for pregnant women (tables and chairs were fixed, and I had to stand on tip toe to get bump over the table to sit down), but otherwise it was drama free! I'm tired now though, but working from home and midwife tomorrow. I'm going to speak to her about my back pain as it has been pretty painful all week.

My scan went fine, but they still want me to go in twice a week for CTG monitoring which is a bit of a pain but better to be safe than sorry. Going to be busy this week, monitoring Tuesday afternoon, birth workshop Tuesday night, Midwife Wednesday and Monitoring again Friday!
Back/Pelvis pain has been bad this week, relying on my crutches more and more to get about and having to take the codeine I was prescribed which Ive been trying to avoid. Feeling VERY pregnant today and a little fed up :(

Happy Birthday Penguingirl, hope you had a lovely evening.

Glad the scan went well - they like to keep you on your toes, don't they?

I remember when I had my daughter, I saw the danger/potential danger in EVERYTHING. I just felt worried all the time :o Now she'll be 11 this year, I was starting to ease off, but since I've been pregnant again the feeling has come back - and probably stronger than it ever was before! :o :rotfl:

    Thanks ladies

lifestarts- glad all went well, that does sound like a busy week though! I definitely know what you mean about feeling very pregnant. Hope the pain feels a bit better soon

    Sweetbabu- I think that's uderstandable

I got a bit worried last week as thought I was feeling less movement- baby is normally super active, so although I still had some it just felt a bit 'sluggish'. So I had a cold drink and lay on left side for a bit and then OH and I realised we were just feeling in completely the wrong place for movements and they were suddenly much lower down and harder to feel, but most definitely there and very active. So I don't know if this means that bump is starting to drop a bit. OH also realised that he can hear the heartbeat really clearly if he puts his ear to my bump and is loving listening to it- I think he quite likes having an experience of pregnancy I don't have as so many seem the other way round.
