  • You had said, "A couple of nightdresses - so when baby is born I can breastfeed easily etc" and all I said was that I'd always found pyjamas easier to breastfeed in. It wasn't a suggestion, just a statement of my experience in case it was helpful. I'm sorry it wasn't of use to you but there's no need to have a huge rant at me just because what I said is not relevent to you because I didn't work out from that one sentence exactly what your plans were.

I didn't have a 'huge rant' at you by even the biggest stretch of imagination...in fact I actually said 'thank you for your suggestion but that you seem to have misunderstood my post'

Please don't bring negativity to this thread, we are all in this together and it's not nice to have negative posts on here just because you misunderstood something and now feel defensive about it.

It's actually upset me quite a lot that I've been accused of ranting. I've been feeling very stressed and teary the last few days and this was the last thing I needed and has set me off crying just now. This thread is mostly full of so much support and it's the only place I can come to and feel like I'm not being judged for my hormones and worries and I sort of feel like that's been taken away from me after reading this.

Its natural to feel this way, have you watched any youtube videos or one born every minute etc? its gonna happen so you might as well watch what to expect to help prepare you. Its hard to describe, but your body takes over and you somehow cope with the pain, your body just instinctively knows what to do x

I kind of sit with my feet together (sit bum on them) and knees apart to the front/sides , with ball in the gap and lean forward.
ha, does that even make sense?!

That makes sense, the problem I find if I sit with my bum on my feet for even not very long I get pins and needles?

Yeah I sometimes do this or lean on the ball so my boobs are resting on it with my arms folded and my head resting on them, although with SPD I would imagine both of these are hard work. My yoga teacher said any position you find comfortable where the knees are lower than the hips and you are leaning forward will give the baby more space to get into a good position.

I'm guessing luck has a lot to do with it though?

I could probably do this one although not as good for watching tele if your head is down lol :)

I read about the knee lower than hip thing too - after I'd spent all evening with my feet up...

True. Spd must be very painful and annoying!
How about sit backwards on a dining room chair? You can then lean forward onto the back of the chair?

Yeah maybe I'll need to do that.

Why is it all the 'good' positions are so uncomfy? Why csbt slumping be the good one!

Delurking to say I was really scared. When it came to it you just do what you've got to do. At times it feels impossible but what they say is right, your body just knows what to do. I look back on it and think it was an amazing experience and would do it again in a heartbeat x

Its weird the feeling scared of labour thoughts we get - I wasn't apprehensive really on my first but was definitely on my 2nd as I knew how much it hurt! Had a very speedy labour (luckily!) on 2nd but I can still remember the pain and lol - here I go again!! Hoping for another speedy one as just thinking about what you get at the end gets you through it xx Your body just gets on with it.....

I watched OBEM this morning. Really hope my baby doesnt go back to back..
I haven't been watching OBEM but my last baby was back to back when I went into labour and the birth was totally fine and took just under four hours even though she was a big baby and turned during labour so it's not inevitable that back to back means slow or difficult labour.
