Hmmm - medical news gaveth with one hand and taketh away with the other. I had half an armful of blood taken last week, when my pregnancy was lowered from medium to low risk, then got a phone call this morning insisting I come into UCH today or tomorrow to discuss "anomolous" results in my blood chemistry. Some things are apparently too high, others too low.

When I saw the sickologist 3 weeks ago, and said I was feeling very weary and easily tired, he was very patronising and said that this was to be expected in later pregnancy. My attempts to say I thought it felt a bit more than that were greeted with "there, there, dear" type remarks.

Now apparently I have low iron, sodium and potassium and high blood sugar levels and a couple of other things, that might also explain why I'm so tired, I expect! Throwing up a lot can do that, I think.

Thats so annoying they were so patronising! How often are you still being sick and now many weeks are you now?

I just had my 38 week appt.

The midwife who so far has predicted the sex of the baby and generally seems to be right about stuff, said ' Im getting labour feelings/vibes off you, think you might have the baby in a few days'

She said she thinks, although said its not always very accurate the baby is 2/5 engaged. She booked me my 40 week appt but said she doesnt think I'll see her! And at the end of the appt she was like 'text me when you have her!'

But then at the end of the appt she did say, 'well theoretically you could have another month left, but I really just cant see that happening with you.'

So I guess we'll find out over the next week or so if shes right or not! I said to her oh well I will tell my hubby and it will mean he will do any job I instruct him to do in record time so its worth you saying it anyway :rotfl: I came home and told him and he said 'Should I take the rest of the week off then?'

I was like er no, you work 10 min drive away and are always contactable and she could be wrong! Honestly he is funny sometimes. But it does mean I can make sure he doesnt let the house get messy with his stuff and mows the lawn on Saturday!

And it means I really need to crack on finishing this photo book Im making, 1/4 way through so far, and start making some meals - which I wasnt planning on doing until next week but perhaps I'll start at the weekend now.

Having said all of this I'll probably go way over due now :)

One good thing is that my anemia levels are back to normal now. And tummy was measuring 36cm so only 2 under now so Ive kind of caught up.

I have five weeks left of work and am a little overwhelmed by the fact that I don't know if I get a handover or not.... but hey, that's not my problem it's managements.

Baby is bumbling around lots today in my belly, and after a couple of glitches with taking my blood sugar I'm back on course (silly me forgot to take before dinner on Monday, then took it after I started eating and wonder why it was high duh!)

I'm finding the hospital bag lists really useful, looking forward to my new bag to arrive from Cotswold so I can start packing it (I bought a 40l kit bag which I can use for climbing and Scout camps once baby is here), plus it is a reasonably girlie colour, so OH can't steal it!

Antenatal classes start next week, so looking forward to those.

Worked out today how to freak out management at work - sit there looking at my belly hoping it will move hahaha :)

    No queue jumping please Claire!!!

My mw appointment was fine. They've booked me in for a 'holistic' appt next Thursday which is basically a sweep if you want one and then an aromatherapy foot massage with reflexology!!

Following that if nothin has happened I've been booked in at the day unit for a check up at 40+10 where I'll be given another sweep, monitored and given an induction date (within 2-3 days)

I really hope I don't have to wait that long though!!

I've been getting more Braxton hicks over last couple of days but they never come to anything!!

It's so annoying when things which clearly aren't just normal pregnancy are dismissed as such. Are you being treated for the sickness? If you're still being sick in late pregnancy they really should be doing everything they can. I can recommend the Pregnancy Sickness Support Trust (http://www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk/) for both information and support. I was sick all the way to nine months in two pregnancy but this time with the right treatment (I'd had about six different medications in other pregnancies but they didn't work) I was only actually throwing up for four weeks so it can make a huge difference.
