  • - but I'm rather confused about my husbands reaction if I'm honest. I did the above while he was at work, in case it was broken. But he wasn't fussed to try again when he was home.
The other day when I felt baby move & kick I took his hand and put it on my belly but he took it away about 5 seconds later as he couldn't feel it! I said it hadn't moved just then but he wandered off.
Last night I put his hand on my bump again, but he took it away saying he'd sooner hold his book 2handed :(
He was, if I'd admit it, more into the idea of a baby than me (less to give up), so what's changed? I know when we were facing scary downs test results (1:30) he stopped saying hi or rubbing my tummy, but the Amnio said no serious genetic issues... Can I help him bond or is this normal? should I leave him be?
Thinking about it, I don't think my husband has ever seemed that excited while I've been pregnant (though my hyperemesis and our losses could be factors in that) and has only ever felt/listened on my suggestion but he's always been really loving with our babies as soon as they've been born and has a really good relationship with both of our daughters so whilst obviously it is upsetting for you now, I'm sure that if it doesn't change sooner, it will change once the baby is born. I think because pregnancy doesn't physically happen to them, sometimes it can be harder for men to feel like the baby is "real" before it is born. Also having a scare or some kind of uncertainty about the baby can affect things for a while even after you know things are okay e.g. I had a previous loss at five months and it wasn't really until about seven months that I felt able to be attached to this baby even though I'd had scans showing it was okay.

.......jug for water - still to get

Hey con - our hospital provides one for every room - might be worth checking on before you buy one. It was just a jug, not a brita filterd jug or anything, but thought that I'd mention it if it was just a standard jug that you were looking for :)

I'm STILL here!!! Got to ring again at 8 tonight. Having really irregular but stronger than previously Braxton Hicks since 3.30am, so maybe baby is getting ready to make an appearance without any help! :)

  • Hi Ladies
Please can I join you. I am 24+1 today due 30/6 and I am team blue. We already have a 23mo son.

would also add lip balm to hospital lists as my lips were really dry

primark had some nighties for £4.50 the other day and also 4pk granny pants for £3.

I know lots are planning on BF (we will try but couldn't with first), if you do go down the ff route we found the packs with the premade milk in a bottle where you peel off the top and screw on a sterile teat a life saver in those first few days, not exactly MSE but for tired new parents they were great. We also keep a pen and notepad on the table and recorded time of feed and amount taken and wet/soiled nappies so when HV asked we knew.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

    Hello ladies,

Feeling tired here. Trying to get a bit of housework done but keep having to take breaks. Its getting really annoying as after each job I feel like I need to sleep. This could partly be because I'm not sleeping easily at night as there are absolutely no positions that are comfortable for me.

I'm just sat here watching a One Born Every Minute re-run. One bloke in it is sat eating fish and chips!! I know DH will have to eat but whats wrong with a sandwich from the little shop in the hospital?? I think if he went over to the chippy I might get a bit irritated. This is perhaps me being jealous and all I'm suffering so you can too!! Seems only fair to me lol :p

Afternoon everyone :) so my manager has surprised me and got a card signed by everyone and has also given me a little gift - very nice and (as you can all probably tell) very unexpected!

Not a clue what we will get with the gift voucher though as we have everything really. May save it and put it towards some summer clothes for bubs :)
