  • Oh and the other best bit for me is that I was back to pre pregnancy weight within 2 wks (and in my jeans!) And am now 9lb under pre pregnancy weight 3 weeks later! For a fat girl this has impressed me!!

That's amazing flutter, massive well done to you as well though. I really miss normal clothes so there's hope I might get back into them before Christmas at least! and thank you for sharing, it's really helpful to hear. I think night feeding would be the bit I would find the most worrying as I'm not a good sleeper so wouldn't trust myself to co-sleep at all and we don't have a huge amount of bedside space. There's a BF support group near by which I must look into going to as I've only heard great things about them all.
  • Well done on being back into normal clothes already flutter. I can't wait to be back in normal clothes. Whilst there are some lovely maternity clothes out there I've been reluctant to buy much as I see it as a bit of a waste of money, so hoping it doesn't take ages to get back into my normal clothes. I'm also hoping we will have a fairly dry winter as I want to be able to get out walking as much as possible.

It's public feeding that puts me off, I really can't see myself ever feeling comfortable with it, but maybe if breastfeeding is successful I will try combination feeding so that at least I don't feel stuck in the house all the time. I'm very much open to the idea of going with the flow and putting no pressure on myself, I'm sure once he is here we will soon establish what works best for us and hopefully that's incorporating breastfeeding in somehow!!
  • Hi Flutter - yes we do have the Uberchild. Fiat 500 is teeny, it's no so much that it's three door there's just very little room for manoeuvre.

Was your instruction booklet for the car seat written badly? The one that came with ours has mistakes on every line, random letters thrown in and gibberish sentences. It's horrendous. Obviously no one checked it - must have let a drunken baboon type it.

OH doesn't like the idea of breastfeeding in public at all.

She likes the idea of a water birth but feels like she'd feel too exposed and wouldn't be comfortable having people around.

The extension is actually getting there now! The outside is finished and they plastered inside today. Hopefully they'll be done by the end of next week, then I can get on and get it painted.

This is getting on for 2 months later than it should have been so be glad to see the end of it! Never ever having builders again!!!

  • Glad the building work is finally nearing completion freddie.

See, I like the idea of a water birth and really really want one and I think I'll feel less exposed as my bottom half will be in the water and I've got a cheap bandeau bra that I'll wear, probably with a rolled up vest top over the top.
  • Welcome Kenny!

Glad the extension is nearly done Freddie.

I would like to breastfeed. Though I am not sure how I will feel about feeding in front of my and DH's family. Though I can just go into another room if they are around. Also not sure about doing it in public. Though speaking to a couple of friends they said that they got over it pretty quickly!

    Glad it's going well flutter.
  • I have similar worries about feeding in public and at Christmas with DH family around... But I'm sure once we are actually having to deal
With it those worries will disappear quickly! I also plan to just go to a different room or upstairs at Christmas as I am not used to being with so many people all the time anyway so it'll be a bit of respite for me too to have periods of time away with just baby.

I also do feel like I'll feel self conscious during birth but again I can't imagine it's top of your thoughts during actual labour! I would think you are less exposed in the water too as its like being in the bath, instead of sprawling on a bed. It's funny what we all worry about... But by the time baby arrives we will be well used to being examined and will have probably made some lovely noises throughout :)

  • Yes, I'm sure any dignity we have will be well out the window during labour, but I have decided that as my bottow half will be exposed I would rather at least keep my top half covered!

Feeling a bit odd today, just feeling a bit sicky, not really hungry (whereas normally I can't stop eating!!), hopefully it will ease soon.

    Hope everyone is doing ok.x

We can't agree on names now at all. We had one in mind for a while and then she's suddenly gone off it.

We've come up with lists of names, but unfortunately the ones I like she doesn't and vice versa. In fact her current favourite is one that I absolutely detest!

Generally if we can't agree on something there will be a good reason and it usually means we just keep looking and we always find something/a solution to we both like and usually is better than the thing we originally preferred individually.

But we've been through pretty much every name in existence!

It's so difficult isn't it Freddie? We have one which we've liked steadily all the way through but are still humming and harring over others. We haven't discussed our potential ones with any family or friends so we're hoping we'll find something that will fit from our short list once he's here.

I'm thinking about asking to use the birthing pool as pain relief, but would maybe prefer to actually give birth out of it possibly. I don't think I'd like sitting in it for ages and ages.

I've bought a TENS machine now, went with the Boots maternity one. Hopefully it'll help, I've heard lots of good things about them so figured it was worth trying. My MW app next week is to figure out a birthing plan so will be interesting to go over the ins and outs of it a bit more.
