It's mad this year. It's tricky enough normally. We've got my Sister's, Dad's, Grandma's, Brother in law's and my birthdays in December. Christmas obviously, then OH's and Neice's birthdays in the first few days of January.

    But this year it's OH's 30th and my Dad's 60th.

And obviously we'll have baby as well coming along just before.

But we're really looking forward to Christmas this year. Just having the tree up and everything. I know baby won't have a clue what's going on. But it's so exciting to have first Christmas with him.

We've decided that instead of getting gifts for each other this Christmas - we're going to get a present each for baby, but keep it secret from each other, so we get to surprise when we open them for him.
    Mortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)

Oh that's a great idea with the presents Freddie, may have to steal that idea and maybe set a certain budget with oh to buy baby a present. I have a few birthdays in December too. Oh has a big birthday next year too, which typically has fallen in the month I'll be waiting to go back into full pay, so I either need to put some money by or give him an iou for once I've been paid holiday about 2 weeks later!!

Cantvwai for Christmas this year, I've always loved Christmas but the last two I've lost my Christmas spirit but I'll definitely get it back this year!!
  • We've decided not to get presents for each other this year, instead we'll stock up on food that I haven't been allowed! Haven't even thought if we'll get the baby anything, may be a couple of Christmas themed outfits.

We have also decided we'll only be getting presents for the nieces and nephews. I've told my mum, need to get DH to tell his family.

We had a growth scan yesterday. Baby is still coming up small but is growing along the same curve so that's good news :T we have another one to check her progress in three weeks. We could see that she had gotten bigger as my bump has grown. It's not very obvious from the front sometimes but is definitely there from the side.

I can't wait to buy baby his first ever Christmas jumper plus I'm sure I'll also dress him up as Santa or an elf on Christmas day!!

My sister has said she is going to do me a hamper when I'm home including all the foods she knows I've really missed, hopefully won't be too long I have to wait!!

Glad baby is progressing despite being slightly small, although from what I have read measurements aren't always that accurate.

    38 week midwife appointment tonight!!
  • I've already bought our baby an elf outfit and a pudding outfit! We also saw a cute panda fluffy onesie thing which we bought the other day. I can't wait to dress our baby up.. it's going to hate me :)

I have said to DH that we shouldn't go mad for baby presents this year, and for him to mention it to his family- it'll be hard though as it's their first grandchild. I would rather they buy things that will be useful to us during the year. Plus we are flying to theirs for christmas so can't bring back anything too big. We will be buying gifts for each other but only because last year we were saving for a wedding and house so we were really tight. With the BIL/SIL and their partners, we do a secret santa so we all have something to open but aren't buying gifts for the sake of it!

I was so tempted to buy him a Christmas jumper in the next clearances but wasn't sure if he would be in 0-3 or 3-6 so thought I would see closer to the time what size he is.

We have got some really cute outfits for baby, cant wait for him to be here and them to fit him!!

I'm hoping people will listen to us when we ask them not to go mad this year, he won't need much at 3 months old and we don't have space for loads of stuff that we don't need.

Hi Kenny, welcome! Possibly a Christmas baby?!

We have a couple of baby Christmas outfits in one of the bundles we bought which should be about the right size, age-wise. I haven't really thought about presents for baby yet. I think we'll maybe just get something larger that we will would likely be buying anyway, a jumperoo or something similar. Whilst it's nice I don't think they really have any awareness at that age of it so I don't want to spend much for the sake of it.

I'm really hoping baby has stayed head down, it's quite hard to tell now as whilst I feel lots of movement there's less space for big kicks and I find it really hard to tell the difference between a bum and head at the top of my bump! I'm definitely feeling a little more pressure low down over the last week, not painful but it just feels like everything is getting very close now!

    I hope you're all well.
