Oh thank you flutter, I'll see if I have any in the cupboards. I got some isotonic drinks today as these have been recommended by a few people, so if I forget straws I'll just reuse the bottles as oh can help me drink from them.

I feel like a have so much to pack. I thought it would all fit in my small hand luggage suitcase but I'm not so sure now!! May have to dig out another bag to pack all of babys stuff in!!

Builders finally back. They've started prepping roof for tiling. While that was going on one of them tidied up and swept up in the garden. I'd half forgotten there even was a garden!

Meanwhile I'm getting there with the kitchen but it really does seem to be dragging on. It's painted now , the upstands are on the wall, I put a window board in yesterday and got it painted today. Now I'm putting up new cabinets. But the first one is really awkward as its squeezing into the gap between the old units and boiler, with the beam from where the old wall was on top.

So it's needed a lot of careful measuring and cutting to adapt it to fit the space.

We're going to IKEA on Saturday. We were going to go yesterday but they don't have the particular colour in stock that we wanted for one of the items. But will be in stock on Saturday.

We're hoping to get a Wardrobe, Changng table/drawers, cot, mattress and a load of other things we saw online which looked good value. I've got a list and everything!

Hope your house is back to normality soon Freddie. Ours is now and I feel like I can finally relax!!

Just completed my birthing plan, it's quite brief but covers what it needs to. I've also just done an Amazon order for the last few bits for my hospital bag, ordered things like a battery hand held fan, a thick headband to stop my fringe annoying me plus I realised I needed more bedding so ordered some more sheets and blankets- I'm sure I'll need more but have enough to see us through a few days.

Congratulations CCL! You've picked a beautiful name. I hope you're both doing well xx

We've finish our antenatal classes now, they were helpful and have made me a bit more relaxed about birth in general now I have a better idea of the process where we are, and definitely reinforced the idea of being very flexible and open minded when it comes to a birthing plan.

Beckyy- that's why my birth plan is quite brief, it has all the things I want, but I'm open to it changing if it needs to- like location- I really want a pool birth so will go to whichever hospital has a free pool, and the injection with the placenta I've put that I will seek advice from the midwife, and that it depends how the birth goes. There's also a question about student midwives, I'll decide this on the day, as I know the chances are very remote but I do know someone studying to be a midwife, and whilst she's lovely I really wouldn't want her there. She's training at my second choice location anyway, but if I do end up there and they ask about having a student there I will have to check that it won't be her!!

How are you finding them TP? When do you start yours Freddie?

I was expecting quite a few shorter sessions but they were much longer and over just a couple of weeks. There was also a session on infant feeding which was informative, it was on both formula and breastfeeding so nice to hear some general advice on both as whilst I'm hoping to BF you never know what will happen.

I want to look more into a TENS machine, and also using the pool for pain relief. I'm hoping to have as little as necessary and not keen on the idea of morphine type pain relief from the risk of making me/baby so drowsy, but then can't say how on earth I'll feel when the time comes so I'm not going to write anything off. I'm also thinking along the lines of not having the injection for the placenta delivery, depending on how labour goes though, would likely be happy to have if I just want it over with.

We have two x 2 hour classes here, first one I found useful as it discussed pain relief options, what you can have in the different units etc. For pain relief ice just put paracetamol, gas and air and a pool and that if I'm finding it too painful I will consider pethidine. Through choice at the moment though I don't really want that, but don't want to rule it out completely. If I've had a long tough labour I'll probably just have the injection as I will just want it all over and done with, but I'll make a decision at the time.

We had an intro session / healthy pregnancy for an hour and a half. Nothing til after summer.

Then there's 3 x 2 hour sessions in September which will be the more practical stuff. There was one couple due earlier than us everyone else was mid October - November.
