Sounds like a good day jtr! Hope the baby makes an appearance soon.
I have yoga again tonight so am looking forward to that. Time seems to go so fast, expect the part where it feels like it's ages since I last did it even though it's only been a week!0 -
I have my first antenatal today, slightly concerned it's quite late in the pregnancy as my midwife said I'll have more ideas about my birthing plan etc and I'll be just over 37 weeks after the second class next week, so if he comes Monday I'll be classed as full term and won't have my completed plan!! Let's just hope he stays put a but longer!! I don't know what we cover tonight but I hope it's more about the labour stages etc so I can at least draft my plan, and I have midwife tomorrow so would like to be able to discuss options with her too.
I think I'm going to pop into town today as I want to buy some fabric so I can get my sewing machine out so I don't get too bored!!0 -
Hope it's useful ThinkPink. We had our first antenatal a couple weeks ago. It was just intro stuff and healthy eating etc. The proper stuff starts next time. But that's not until first week of September.
So similar to you she'll be 36 weeks when that starts. 39 weeks on the final session!Mortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)

I have to say our antenatal classes were really good, I think they could have easily been rubbish but the midwife leading them was great. I think I was 34 and 37 weeks.
Good news today was that my midwife is happy to support my homebirth up to 43 weeks. This is a big weight off my shoulders as I didn't want to be fighting induction etc.

We only get 2 classes in my area. tonight was about labour and all the choices involved including pain relief and placenta delivery options. think we covered enough for me to complete my birthing plan, have a few things I was to discuss with my midwife tomorrow. interesting thing was there was about 10 couples and it was a the hospital with a mlu yet I was the only one considering having my baby there, everyone else must be going to the main hospital.0

Hi all, I'm just moving up from the previous thread. I recognise some names and it's lovely to see the thread so active. I'm having a little girl and due on 28th November. I already have a 2 year old girl so being a second pregnancy you have a lot less interaction with the medical professionals. I'm nearly 26 weeks and I've only seen the midwife twice!
I was thinking of having a 4d scan, partly just to double check it's a girl. I think it would be really hard to think for months you are having one gender, buy all the stuff and even possibly name them and then be handed a baby of a different gender. I don't mind what I get and when I didn't find our last time it wouldn't have mattered. Can you tell I overthink some things.
I'm totally not prepared yet and haven't bought anything. However I'd hardly bought anything last time and I currently have a loft full of baby stuff this time so it's not too bad. Apart from getting a moses basket and new mattresses for everything (seems such a waste to get rid of the expensive and pristine mattress my daughter uses in the cot but new is recommended for each baby) the main job we have is to decorate the spare room and move my daughter out of the nursery.
I was in Ikea today and saw so many things I wanted to get. It's really so good for children's furniture, storage solutions and toys. It wasn't easy trying to get my purchases to the car with a 6 month bump and a 2 year old though, but going at the weekend would be murder for the crowds.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -
Welcome kynthia.
I had a 4d scan, I had mine at baby bond, they do a basic package simply 4d I think it's called, was about £59) which is very reasonably priced and was enough for what we wanted- which was reassurance all was still ok (had it at 28 weeks), check he was a boy and just get a little sneak peek at what he may look like, it was amazing.
I have midwife today plus I'm meeting up with some friends and I want to get my hospital bag more organised (although this may be a job for tomorrow).
I found eating little but often yesterday really helped and I wasn't anywhere near as uncomfortable as I have been previously so need to try and stick to that.
Hope everyone is well.x0 -
Well, I've never been a patient person and it's looking like bump takes after me. My water broke at stupid o'clock this morning and contractions have started. The hospital want to see me to check on things at some point this morning, but said then best to stay at home til they're three minutes apart and lasting a minute.
I know I'm a wuss, but I didn't think it would be quite this bad. I believed all the rubbish I read on different places about "you'll find the strength" and "you'll forget it as soon as it's over". Nope. To both. I want to cry, black out and throw up all in one go. And I'm nowhere near ready for the worst part yet. There's the normal contractions and also some agonising pain every few minutes in the bottom of my back too. Why I thought I could manage this and t wouldn't be as bad as I was imagining I'll never know. It's hell already and I probably have all day to go before I can even go into hospital.Book a week challenge: 11/52. Competitions won in 2021: 120 -

Crazy-cat-lady how far along are you? If you are at the point of being unable to talk through a contraction and possibly howling at its peak or going into yourself then go in. I was sent away when it was at 'I have to walk through a contraction to distract me' point just before it got bad as I was only 2cm. However as soon as we got home I was beyond the taking a paracetamol and get in the bath point and just howled on the bed and on the loo for 3 hours. I then started pushing and my waters broke so we went back in, it's awful getting in a car then, and I was 9cm when we got to tge hospital. So I could have had pain relief ages before if I'd gone back in but they assume everyone follows a similar pattern and time line when they don't.
If it's just painful, and you aren't on the bed beside yourself yet, then get a back rub, use a tens machine, take paracetamol and try a warm bath. It doesn't last forever and you will get through it. XDon't listen to me, I'm no expert!0
