Freddie - FH is often wrong so I wouldn't worry too much.

Woo. Entered a few baby competitions online when I was bored. I'd won what was (supposedly) £45 of bath toys in a big stick on toy bath caddy in the shape of a ladybird. And now won a breastfeeding pillow, it's arrived now. Must enter some more when I'm bored again. Not done any in ages.
Can't be bothered doing much today. I really can't stand sitting and doing nothing, rather be busy and find random jobs to do. Even if I can only do an hour and then have a sit for a while. But for some reason today I can't be bothered in the slightest. Might get the washing and the ironing done, a bit in the garden..which is now an overgrown jungle and needs some attention.. and leave it at that.
I'm hating parking spaces too. At least the mother and baby ones will have a bit more room, but I'd still want the end space! I tend to go way out of the way and park where there's nobody else so I have loads of space. I hate bay parking in general, but more so now. So I'd rather walk an extra 50 feet than park near another car.Book a week challenge: 11/52. Competitions won in 2021: 120 -
Oh what fab wins crazy, I've never been into comps but maybe I should start now I have spare time!!
So tired today, napped for an hour and half earlier then went for a walk with oh and feel like I could easily nap again now but really should resist.
Glad all is going well flutter with the feeding.0 -
Shopping today - some items for hospital bag. Also got a gym ball for her to see if she liked it for use in labour. She does find it comfy and fun to play around on! Can see how it could be helpful.
Also got lots of clothes for baby. Got a warm one piece coat type thing suitable for gong home in from hospital. Got a pack of newborn and up to 1 month body suits - we have lots of 0-3 ones already. Got some hats, scratch mittens. Really nice sleeping bag from morrisons for a tenner.
Then I went a bit mad when I spotted the sale stuff, she only sent me in to get the coat but i came out with about 10 different outfits. Got them in a range of sizes up to first year.
Did have another look in mothercare as we still have a £50 voucher to spend but thinking of saving it for when we find something we would have been buying anyway for a similar price. There's so many really nice looking and good quality baby things available for reasonable prices elsewhere that mothercare just seems appallingly overpriced in comparison. I don't understand how they stay in business - I suppose it's the brand thing and lots of people just go there by defaultMortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)

I have found the clothes and bedding in mothercare to be expensive, but they do have good deals on some items, like our pushchair was on a really good deal and I think I worked out with the deals mothercare had on it was about £200 cheaper. I've also got some good buys from there like a towel bale and his Bouncy chair.
I don't think I have anywhere near enough clothes for him in new born/ up to a month, but im trying to resist as I would rather wait until he is here then stock up on what we need.0 -

That's what we're thinking too. Got two newborn sleepsuits (mothercare ironically! Gifts from her work) and then 3 newborn body suits and 3 up to a month bodysuits.
Everything else is 0-3. If he turns out to be tiny and we need more then we'll get some at the timeMortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)

Glad it's not just me, I've read some posts on other forums where people have 20+ sleepsuits and 20+ bodysuits in every size! We have 4x next first size sleep suits, a five pack of new born vests then 3x up to one month sleepsuits. I imagine that our baby won't be that long as I'm just about 5ft, but just depends if he is a chunk!! There is a Tesco close to whichever birthing unit we opt for so if oh has to dash there once baby is here then I really dont think he will mind!!
We seem to have bought most things in 0-3 and 3-6, but we still dont have loads. It's been as I've seen cute bargains I've picked things up!!0 -
just dropping in as a nanna to 6 - the last three were triplets - i would get some early baby clothes as even if you have a stocky 8lber new borns bits will still seem big - 6 early baby will mean they have clothes that fit in the first few weeks - if you do not have these you spend a fortune getting clothes to fit once you have your little one as you will not be able to resist bits in the right colour and size -olympic challenge starting 7/1/07:j0

We have a couple of bits in tiny baby or up to 1 month that we were given, I've bought about 10 vests and sleepsuits in 0-3 and we have a whole drawer packed with 0-3 bits we were given. I'm not buying anything else now though as DH was almost 11lb when he was born so it may not even be in 0-3 very long
it helps that we are team yellow so we aren't tempted by all the cute gendered clothes and it's quite difficult to buy neutral bits that aren't just white or cream.
The stuff we have bought has been from mothercare, mostly when it's on sale and the pram/cot we got 10% off, the pram was same price as everywhere else. It pays to shop around, yes it's expensive for some items but I wouldn't say everything is overpriced.Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

Twinkle has a good tip there.. I've also been recommended that by someone else... Babies are always squished up when very first born so smaller clothes are a good idea just in caseBecame Mrs Scotland 16.01.16
