I'm not looking at slings at the moment, I'll wait till he is here then see if I feel we need one then I'll look into it more if I decide we need one.

Snap. That's what I'm doing. Looked at them a few times but I really can't see myself using one. Was going to get one for the sake of it, so it was here in case, but didn't bother. I'll see how I feel when she's here.

We do have, in all the baby overspill stuff somewhere, a baby backpack. Husband does a lot of walking. So she can go out for walks with him, tucked into the little back pack carrier. But that's for when she's a little older. Got to be 6 months to go in it. There's a lot of nature trails near us with deer and bunnies and we live about 5 minutes from a river with ducks, and at the back a big duck pond too. So I think/hope she'd enjoy looking at them all when she knows what they are.

    Hi all

Baby Lenny Otter Surname arrived at approx 8.30am this morning, weighing 8lb12.

Rather a traumatic situation in the end. Induced 2pm Sunday, 24hr pessary out 2pm Monday, then was on waiting list to have waters broken. Started having very painful contractions from about 7pm onwards. Once OH went home at half9 they were so painful. Tried a bath, walking, bouncing and gave in for cocodomal. Not examined again. Get called up to labour ward 11.30pm so called oh back again. When they went to break my waters it turned out they had already gone and neither myself nor MW had noticed!

Contractions very painful at this point, asked for all the drugs! Didn't like gas and air at start, couldn't breathe properly with it. Opted for reniphentonal drip thing which had no effect. Massive panic at one point as they lost baby's heartrate :O, they put a clip on his head but still couldn't get it. Turns out the equipment was faulty! The drugs I felt didn't work so after hour or so I asked for epidural on MW advice. Sadly epidural didn't do much as it was pressure pains hurting me not contractions but gas and air helped take the edge off.

Around 7am this morning we tried pushing but not much luck and baby's heartrate went down massively so I was rushed to theatre. They were going to try forceps and if no joy an emergency c section :O. Very scary situation. They couldn't get the anaesthetic to work properly! I was numb enough. A fab senior registrar came in and insisted on trying forceps or sucky thing before c section. He managed to get baby out with just a few more pushes from me!

Never been so scared in my life. But baby is perfect and I'm fine now. OH was fab all night bar the hour sleep he had around 5am :rotfl:. I need to stay in at least one night. Baby has fed off boob :).

    Sorry for essay!

    Hi All,

Thought I would move over here now. Have been on the less than 12 weeks and 12-24 week threads.

I am 26+1 today, seems to be going very quickly. EDD 14/11. We've been told we're having a little girl!

The baby has been measuring a bit small, but the consultant said she won't be concerned unless she drops off the curve she is on.

I have been enjoying feeling her move around (even at stupid o'clock in the morning), and DH even managed to feel her move the other day which was nice. Having to stop myself buying stuff for her! I have only bought her two baby gros. She does however have a lot of stuff. My mum has been buying clothes and DH keeps coming back with stuff from people at work. I also have a friend that said she has stuff I can have. I have joked she won't need to wear the same thing twice :rotfl:. Will also have a boy in lots of pink if they've got the gender wrong! We've decided we'll get a few gender neutral bits just in case!

I have started doing prenatal yoga just to try and keep a bit more mobile and strengthen my muscles. Even walking seems like hard work sometimes!

I didn't seem to get any extra energy in the 2nd trimester, however I have always enjoyed having a nap and have a good excuse at the moment! I also now get heartburn, so gaviscon is my new best friend. If only it tasted nicer!

Congratulations flutter! Sound like it was very scary but glad it all worked out in the end.

Congratulations flutter on the birth of your little one. I hope your recovery goes well, definitely take some arnica if you can as it really helps with bruising and swelling.

Welcome justme :j I really enjoyed pregnancy yoga, I've not been able to go for a couple of weeks as there's limited spaces and I've been too late to get one :(

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

  • Hi Justme :) I am due on 4.11 so not far apart! I do pregnancy aqua yoga which I love... I was on the waiting list for actual yoga but can't afford it this month :( Try rennies for an alternative to gaviscon, I got fed up of gaviscon liquid pretty quickly but the rennies don't seem quite as bad!

Just a quick update on mothercare... got a voucher today for an amount that DH and I were happy with (they initially offered £50!) so have agreed that. And we have a lovely nursery built now so it's all good!
