Beckyy are there any sling groups or librarys nearby? I've gone for a stretch wrap for now but I will be going along to try different options once baby is here. They are very useful for being able to try them on and even rent for a week to see how you like it.Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16

For anyone still buying clothes.. alexandalexa.com have a great sale on at the moment. Lots of gorgeous baby clothes. Usually quite a pricey place, but in the sale lots of little bits at no more than you'd pay in the high street.
We ordered last week and everything just arrived, lots of little Marc Jacobs things. All £3 and up. We got bigger sizes, she's got plenty for now, but still adorable for in a few months time.Book a week challenge: 11/52. Competitions won in 2021: 120 -
Had the health visitor this morning, she was ten mins and got here literally as I got out the bath so I had a mad panic running round to get dressed! She seemed really nice and talked a lot about breastfeeding, but in an informative way, not pushy way and also discussed bottle feeding too. Think I'm going to start by giving it a go, and initially I'll aim I just do a couple of days so he gets all the goodness then see how I feel, that way I don't feel under pressure and won't feel a failure if it doesn't work out. She also explained how the baby's brain develops and how stress etc can delay it's development, I found that very interesting.
Just waiting for a friend to come now for a bit of lunch and the carpet fitter to fit a carpet in baby's room. Plus a 've been food shopping and am currently baking some brownies!! Quite a productive day I think!!
Flutter- so pleased to hear all is progressing now, hopefully it won't be long until your little one is here.0 -
Massive amounts of good luck flutter, I hope things are progressing well!
Beckyy, psychos suggestion of sling library is great. I went to one last month and got to try out a stretchy, a ring sling and a buckle type carrier. Hoping I can go again with oh when she's born so he can try too. I've got a stretchy wrap to start with as they feel really snug. I think oh will prefer a structured carrier but I probably won't use one for a few months.
My feet have blown up a bit today, was super hot last night as well so got up at 5am to eat cereal and watch the sunrise! Have midwife tomorrow, hoping that will be the last time I see her
Hope rinroo is doing OK, not seen her post for a while and she's second on the list!
Very happily married on 10th April 2013

My sister has loads of different slings - she did huge amounts of research into them and tried loads of different types. A bit obsessed to be honest... If she's able to move the subject onto slings she'd lecture for hours!
We've got health visitor next Monday. Need to buy some more things, but I'm having my first go at tiling tomorrow doing the splashback behind the hob. The tiles only cost 30p each so it's not the end of the world if it goes wrong!
Hope it happens soon FlutterMortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)

All baby related items are now in his room!! Everything is in piles (some bits have actually been put away!!!) And things like clothes are in in boxes waiting for new furniture which we hope to get on Thursday!! I still have bits to get but overall I'm happy we have the essentials and anything else we can get as and when we want. We need more clothes etc but I'm reluctant to get much as I'm sure we will get lots bought for us.
I'm not looking at slings at the moment, I'll wait till he is here then see if I feel we need one then I'll look into it more if I decide we need one.0
