I think I'm going to pack my hospital bag this weekend. That way I can pop to the shops Saturday and get most the things I need then pack on Sunday.
Baby is going straight into a cot (we got a space saver one to fit in our bedroom), so we will need to get a cot bed when he's 9 months to a year, but we will wait until we need it before we buy it as storage space in our house is fairly limited!!
Oh that is so annoying Freddie that your builder is away different dates to when you expected. Hopefully he will crack on when he is back so your oh doesn't find it all too stressful.0 -

So some days I'm bored, sat around reading the kindle and some magazines and doing very little, hoping the next day I can do more. I never thought I'd be bored off work..but, I'm getting
I'm soooooo bored!! I'll look back next wk when baby is here and wish I'd enjoyed it I guess :rotfl:
Got my hopes up yday that the MW may have started things off with the massage as I had lots of cramping and some blood when wiping (tmi). Also had the mother of all headaches last night. But nothing since going to bed.
I have acupuncture booked tonight to try induce me that way. Meeting OH for lunch later so at least I'll get out for a bit.* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *

Feeling a lot more myself and have a lot more energy today thankfully, after the lull of the last few days. Husband has gone back to work, so when I'm stuck on my own I have nothing to do but keep busy or be bored.
I've already sorted out the spare 4th bedroom this morning, which had been bugging me for a long time. It had become a dumping ground for anything baby related. Bags and bags of clothes that I won't need for several months, hundreds of nappies, toys, books, lotions and potions and several baby baths! No floor space in sight. Now thankfully all organised and tidy. Now to move on to the 3rd bedroom which sadly won't be as quick to sort.
Wiggler is still being very uncomfortable and feels like rocks in there instead of the nice, squishy, wriggly baby she has been so far. But got to carry on otherwise these last few weeks will be unbearable. I can just pretend she really is a chest buster alien for a while. Only she seems to be trying to get out by tunnelling through both my ribs and hips.Book a week challenge: 11/52. Competitions won in 2021: 120 -
Don't overdo it now Crazy.
Still no sign. Sigh.
I had acupuncture last night, and afterwards I felt a lot more pressure down there but not much else. I had the 2nd session of acupuncture this morning and whilst she was doing it I felt a few twinges so that's something I guess.
I was meant to have the community MW come today to do 3rd/final sweep but we want to go out as a family as OH has the day off and his kids are with us so I rung the BMI MW at the MLU as she offered to do sweep and I went there. Slight improvement on last time, but still not open. She said I'm 90% of the way to being open. I'm glad I rang her as she has booked me in for a 4th sweep on Sat, which the community MW wouldn't have done so I have one small chance left! I've began to accept I won't be going to the MLU now and will have to be induced, so no tears this time! :rotfl:* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *

Flutter, I'm really hoping your little one has started making an exit by now, if not I'm wishing you lots of luck for tomorrow!
It's my daughters 16th birthday today, wow that's made me feel old! We had lunch together in town and she went off with her boyfriend to spend all her birthday money. As someone who's doing/done this both very young, and much older, I can hand on heart say I feel in a much better place emotionally, mentally and even physically now than I did all those years ago.
38+6 today, have lunch with a friend tomorrow, breakfast with my best friend Sunday, two friends coming round Monday, midwife Tuesday, massage and facial Wednesday and THEN I'm going to slowwww down :rotfl:
Just approved the next stage in our loft conversion and roof replacement, just over £2k of professional fees for building regulations and structural engineer work. It completely makes sense to do it, but the total cost is going to be up to £35k I think, that's a scary number but we are adding a decent size double, a large single and a shower room, losing only a minimal amount of room in our third bedroom, which will still be bigger than a traditional box room. Oh and the roof will be water tight, hurrah!

Good morning!
Well, that's work over and done with for just over a year, and the last time (hopefully) that I work full time for quite a few years!! I think the next week or two will just feel like I'm on annual leave then after that it will sink in!! Got some lovely presents and my boss did a lovely speech, luckily though I'm not really very emotional at the moment so there was no tears.
Going to try and get everything this weekend for my hospital bag and get that packed, will be 35 weeks on Monday so it's about time I started to pull it all together!!
Hope everyone is well and hope things are progressing well for flutter.0 -
Congrats on starting Mat leave Think
wish I could have a full year... DH pointed out yesterday that this time next year I'll be heading back to work! (Thanks darling!)
The extra cot box got collected yesterday, after a call from mothercare to arrange delivery of the missing box... It's a complete farce it really is. We were looking at new cars yesterday as I struggled to get in and out of DH car as it is, it's very low. Hopefully we can get something more practical but DH needs to lower his expectation a little... We will see! We have had the last week off work and I don't feel any less exhausted for it sadly, counting down the weeks to the start of my mat leave...Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

Argh psych, I sympathise. Pain in the bum looking for cars. Husband is looking for a new one too. He generally part exes the old one and buys the latest reg one every three years, so it's time. I'm keeping mine. He's only a few years old and I love him (my little Walter). He's only teeny, which is good for parking! But plenty boot and driving room, even now with bump. Though driving is very umcomfy now. I'll keep him til he won't go anymore.
But he wants a bigger car for him. I know less than nothing about cars and he's about as clueless. So he's constantly reading reviews and looking at videos and trying to work out of the pram and everything else will fit. Currently I think it's either a BMW, Merc or Audi but I can't remember and don't have a clue what type of any of them. Neither of us like stupidly big cars, so it'll be fairly compact but with loads of boot space.
I Usually test the boots by climbing in and seeing if I can fit in and with how much room with it closed! Someone saw him open it and me climb out last time and looked like they were ready to phone the police til I smiled and waved at them. Then they just though we were nuts.Book a week challenge: 11/52. Well I've saved up most my annual leave for this year and have used that at the start so I have the next four weeks as annual leave then maternity leave starts a week before my due date. I then think we will be ok on smp for the approx 9 months, also over the last 7 months I've saved up enough to cover another 2 months at the equivalent of smp (plus a bit extra to cover Christmas etc) then I plan on technically going back to work at the start of August but will then use annual leave for the whole month to use up most of what I would have accrued from Jan to August plus the bank holidays (which works out about 26 days). I discussed this with my boss yesterday and she thought this sounded good as it would mean I'm back for September which is when we start to get busy again.
I just need to hope that my calculations are correct and we can manage on smp and oh wages, we do also have savings so if we need to occasionally dip into those it wouldn't be a problem. Fingers crossed anyway as I've got my mind set for one year off now!!0
