    Ah crazy, that's fantastic!

I will say don't try to rush yourself out of hospital either - I did too much too soon and found myself ridiculously tired and got told off for it. Here they take the approach that mum and baby need quiet resting time and to take it easy to your check up.

Good advice tata. DH stops me from trying to do too much too soon, but I have a friend who tried to drive too soon after a c section and ended up back in hospital. Not worth it.

    Crazy - glad you don't need a c-section now :)

Can anybody recommend brands of maternity pads to buy (or more importantly to avoid!) please?

I bought a couple of packs from Boots in an offer but they're slim ones so I'm guessing probably not heavy duty enough for the initial few days.

Planning on packing some loose, dark coloured PJ bottoms. I don't find nighties very comfy, but might have a look at them again as they may be more convenient, and probably going to get some big black cheap knickers too.

The maternity ward always seems uncomfortably hot so I'm not planning on taking anything thick or too warm to wear, probably a couple of loose tops/vest tops. Id rather not pack tons, and OH can bring up extra if needs be.

I've just ordered an ewan the sheep. I had a £15 mamas and papas voucher that I got when I ordered some bargains in their sale back in June. Did debate picking it up from their shop to save £5 p and p as I'm hopefully going to be over that way next week, but then changed my mind, just in case I decide not to drive next week as it's starting to get a squeeze behind the steering wheel now! Still, even with the p and p it was only £20. Let's hope it's as good as the reviews!
  • I was looking at Ewan the sheep today :) that sounds like a bargain think!

We went to Bluewater today and I got a couple of small bits as we have vouchers, sadly can't agree on nursery theme yet but also we haven't seen much we really like. We ordered a new bed today which is VERY comfy and hopefully will help me sleep a little better. I also picked up a tommee tippee essentials set for £65 (apparently usually £150, the steriliser alone was priced at £55!) in mothercare as it can cover both BF and bottle feeding. We also picked up the cot this morning from the depot and got given the 2 boxes from the original order that got 'lost'... Fingers crossed its not damaged when we unpack it all after being in the depot for so long :) we have been out since 8.30am this morning (had midwife at 9am) so I can't wait to get home and put my feet up!

Oh that's good a good buy psychobabble. Someone at work has offered me a microwave steriliser, she has only used it 3 or 4 times as it was one she got for when she looks after her grandson, so I've said I'll have it, that way if it doesn't get used I haven't wasted any money (well I'll get her some chocolates or something to say thank you.

I've just seen a navy polka dot lightweight dressing gown online that's only £8, think I'll be ordering one, it's not maternity or anything but I'll just get a larger size.

Thanks for the advice on pads I have one pack so will stock up on more.

Beckyy - I had the boots standard maternity pads. The thin ones were not close to being enough in the first couple weeks. After that I got them from tesco and Morrison's with the food shop - just the same.

Thanks euro, will have to get a couple of packs.

I'm loathed to spend much on hospital wear because I know it's only going to be worn for such a short period of time and possibly just have to be binned after if it's in a state or doesn't fit for long after.

I went to a early pregnancy physio session this week (I was a it late attending, everybody else was still slim :rotfl:) but it was quite helpful, going over the do/don't with exercise, myth busting about what you can do. I also got a few good exercise ideas so will have to remind myself to keep them up.

I hope everyone's doing well today.

:( 2nd failed sweep just now. Not open one bit. She did say I have dropped, and massaged me so maybe that will work. But I can see me being induced on Sunday. Got one more sweep on Thursday. Gonna try think positively (says she sitting in the car in tears!).

Spent the morning rearranging the nursery, think I'm happy with it now.

Sorry to hear that flutter, hopefully baby will make an appearance soon.

Could exercise help, walking or swimming maybe? Fingers crossed for you, and I hope your afternoon gets better!
