I have officially finished work :j:j. Few days leave then mat leave starts next wk at 37 weeks. I was so ready to finish, but now feel a bit lost :rotfl:.

I went for lunch with the dept that I've been seconded to for last 6 months, which was nice. The big big boss gave a lovely speech about how I've been so helpful to them, my boss arranged some lovely gifts - 4 outfits, pics for nursery, mum to be toiletries and a bottle of wine for post-birth! Feel a bit sad that noone from my old/normal dept (I work in prison and was seconded on safety grounds) turned up despite being invited, nor email me to say bye but c'est la vie.

Oh bet your so glad to have finished work, I'm sure you will soon find things to do to keep you busy.

I woke up this morning and my whole body just ached, even lifting my legs to get into the bath hurt so I decided to have the day off work. I've not had many days off since I've been pregnant as I feel bad not going in so tend to drag myself in but decided that if I went in today I would probably make myself worse. Fell back to sleep at 8am and woke up at 11am feeling slightly better so I obviously needed it. I am starting to feel a lot more pregnant now so I'm hoping I can make it through the next 20.5 days I have left at work!!

Hope things have progressed for skint and Euro. Congratulations money.x

Did have to laugh earlier, I got a text from my doctors surgery to remind me to hook in for my whopping cough jab and the text said it's best to have it soon after the 20th week, well I'm now 29 weeks and do have it booked in, but not for another week and a half, and I only got it booked in as I enquired about it myself! Thought the text was a little bit too late!

Yay to maternity leave! It has been a bit of an adjustment for me, but I've gotten more used to it now. I'm sure you will too :)

Nothing doing here. Going to call hospital and ask if they'll try another sweep tomorrow, as a last ditched attempt. Have been having plenty more braxton Hicks, fanny daggers, backache etc, so hoping that might be a sign that cervix has opened slightly. Either way, I've stocked up on magazines for myself and DH as I understand that induction can be lengthy.

I assume that skint is well into the process now, if not a mummy already. I hope all is going/has gone well for her :)

  • You lucky thing starting leave already. I have 8 working days left. Not counting appointment days or weekends..Not that I'm counting ;) got husband to look after for the first two weeks after his op and then got a few weeks to have a good last clear out and organise, tidy and get ready before madam's grand arrival.

It's a daft question but when did everyone start having pains when sleeping or having trouble sleeping? I sleep like a log every night with no aches. So I'm wondering if I've escaped it or it will hit me like a brick of all of a sudden.
I'm asleep when my head hits the pillow. Up for the loo a LOT I admit, even if I try not to drink after about 8pm. But bed at 11, and I'm gone. And straight back to sleep after loo trips. I haven't needed a pregnancy pillow and besides a few aches very early on about 4/5 months in, not had a problem.
So at 31 weeks have I likely escaped it all or is it lurking around the corner waiting to get me?

Bit worrying as so many people say a problem and pain free pregnancy like i seem to have had so far means that the birth will be hell on earth. Hoping they're wrong. But knowing my luck..

I'm 29 weeks and have some good night sleeps where i sleep like a log, and others where I can't sleep or wake up with painful hips do you may just be lucky.
  • I'll keep my fingers crossed. I think I was worse earlier on. Had a few sleepless nights then and got a bit sore in my hips and a very bad back for quite a while (but was never sure if that was down to bump or a car crash at the end of last year) and headachy. About 4 months in or so. Hated it back then, love it now. So maybe I'm weird and work in reverse.
    Wouldn't surprise me.

Cat lady, with my first pregnancy I didn't have SPD so sleeping was fine until I got to the very end stages when turning over became an issue, this time around I had sod so was in pain a lot earlier. Hope that helps

Crazy - I haven't had much pain when sleeping, I've had the odd night where I've been uncomfortable but they have been rare. I have found that the last few weeks (since about wk 32/33) that I've woken up to move positions (rather than move in my sleep) cos it's been a bit more of an effort! I've barely used a pregnancy pillow but I do use a Snoozle sheet to help me turn in bed.

First day of maternity leave, had an appt to fix the pedicure that was messed up on Sat and afterwards I am going to pop to few shops to look at baby things :) then home to rest for the afternoon.

Euro/Skint - hope you are both holding on in there x
