Not posted in this thread before as I'm only 17+3 but just wanted to say how lovely your story about your OH was mysecretalias :p ! Following my OH's initial reaction to my BFP I was worried he wasn't as excited as me about having a baby but since then he has been increasingly excited as we get more things and has this smile on his face whenever we talk about the baby. I said yesterday that the baby pretty much consumes my thoughts all day and was surprised when he said it was most of the day for him too :D !
  • Hi cmace :) I think it's difficult for most men to really think it's real until you start having a proper baby belly and baby starts moving around etc. Most people we know their OHs have been the same, happy but not overly excited until they've actually started feeling movement and seeing the huge bump!!!

Wait until you've got a massive baby bump like me, then your OH won't be able to keep his hands off of it lol! :)

My OH is just soppy as hell and crazy, he's been crazy excited since the second we found out, I've been the one who has slowly had to get used to it and realise it's really happening!! It's almost better if it's the other way round though I think, it has been difficult at times in the early days for me to see OH so excited and me unable to be very excited - but it's because I was so sick all I could think about was feeling better so I've only really started to enjoy my pregnancy the last few weeks, and now we have our house we are buying to worry about I'm worrying about that instead now!! I'm just a natural pessimist and a worrier though, I hate being this way as I feel like it means I never enjoy the good things that happen to me as I feel my mind is programmed to simply wait for the next bad thing to happen!! Gosh how depressing! Lol

VickyVics - I know exactly what you mean - I am tired a lot now and I get bump ache. Doesn't help I am at uni as well as work and I have 3 more essays to start and finish prior to the 12th May 2014. I have done two, third is half way though. I need them done by mid April really.....

Wow, I take my hat off to you. All I want to do is sleep!! I'm struggling to juggle working part time with housework. x

I've been lurking for a little while. I'm just under 30 weeks pregnant and was diagnosed with gestational diabetes last week, off to hospital this afternoon for an appointment with the specialist team, hoping they can help shed some light on why my blood sugars are so high after breakfast compared to other meals.

I'm due mid-May, but there may be a chance that I get induced as depends on size of mini-me, had a scan yesterday and the sonographer commented that the baby was large and was concerned that I had to see someone soon - I explained that I had already got an appointment for today as they didn't have any scans for today, so had to go yesterday.

Keep getting the feelings of, am I actually doing everything right or not, but going to go with an open mind and hope I don't cry again like I did last week. FIL is particularly worried about me, which is really quite sweet as he can be a bit of a wotsit at times.

Had my 31 week appointment this morning - baby is measuring at 30cm and is breech - still plenty time to get turned around so no one is worried :)

Ooh keep us posted quaveriw as I had them concerned at my 16 week appointment as I have high sugar in my pee seemingly after breakfast. They have booked me in for a glucose test at 28 weeks so I'm glad they have spotted it early. So keep me posted with what they say, try not to get too worried, at least they have noticed and are monitoring x

Had my whooping cough jab this morning. The nurse who did it is my favourite one at my gps shes so nice. She did it so quick I couldnt believe it, I thought the flu jab was fast but this was done before I could start my usual thing of trying to remember to breathe!

Much better than the nasty ones I had before I went travelling.

Just glad you girls were posting about it on here as I kept forgetting to get it done.

Just make a banana bread loaf, and starting on the third photo book I need to get done before the baby arrives. My other job is to sew a seam on the coat skirt Im making although that should only take 15 mins to get done.

Just feel knackered as usual being up for part of the night with the hip/pelvic pain although Ive found since sleeping on a fluffy throw and having a third pillow in between my sleep Ive had maybe a bit more sleep but the pain is still terrible going to tell my midwife again about it next week as Im now worrying about it impacting on my movement in labour.

Congratulations SmlSave - really pretty name!

Emz I hope things get moving for you and little one doesn't keep you waiting too much longer

Been at my last event with work this morning and people couldn't believe I'm 37 weeks tomorrow, still working, still going to events etc! Need to pop in to town to visit the bank now too so that's probably half a mile or so walking (probably underestimating it actually but oh well!) so they all need to start listening when I say its good to keep busy hehe. Also ridiculously hungry yesterday and today so despite having had a huge pack of crisps and a sausage roll I'm going off in search of some lunch now too! May be naughty and have something in town hehe

Must admit I am not looking forward to starting my leave on Tuesday but more because then people will be quiet and stop telling me I shouldn't be at work/should be resting etc!

Why arent you looking forward to it Lush?

I absolutely love being on mat leave, this is my third week, well first was officially holiday, and I have been so much busier than I thought, and its great that when Im up umpteen times in the night I know I can have a lie in and dont have to worry about going to work!

Im slowly getting jobs done and tomorrow will make a start on cleaning stuff in the house. Meeting up with the nct girls once a week and now theyre starting to have babies, popping round to see those who have.

I could seriously get used to this :)

Hey, just dropping in during a quiet moment at work! I work at a hospital and all the patients are out so I'm left with me, a computer and food haha x had my 25 week midwife appt this morning (am now 25+4), all fine, was very weird when she tried to feel which way lil HB was lying, he was wriggling all over the place she couldn't even get the heartbeat for more than 10 seconds!

I was given the numbers to call for antenatal classes too, in my area there's 2x2 hours on a Tuesday evening or a full weekend at the hospital including a tour. I had to ring round though as most of the community classes are booked up! Will have to see what OH wants to do though as he normally goes to uni on a Tuesday evening and works all weekend so he'll have to decide which one to skip as I have told him attendance is compulsory, there's more to this baby lark than conception :p

Claire16C I imagine that's how I'll be! Can't wait to finish work (just before 36 weeks) and nest :D

Samtoby I hope you get your assignments done soon! I'm juggling full time work, an OU course and a part time uni course too. I've submitted all my assignments now but I've got to get another 35 teaching hours in before I give birth! Then then open uni course has three assignments between now and May, which I think I'll manage... but then there's an exam on the 5th June, ten days before my due date! I've applied to sit the exam at home for obvious reasons :rotfl:

Mysecretalias that's so lovely, my OH likes sleep far too much for that! Think it's finally dawning on him that we are having a baby, he keeps talking to and kissing bump which is very sweet.
