  • I'm struggling with prams. The one I like and have had good reviews from friends has a very small basket underneath... Probably not too much of an issue but it would get annoying when shopping I think. Our local mcare doesn't have much of a range and seems to be mostly I candy or silver cross. Very frustrating!

The mothercare in our city centre isn't that big, but there is a big one in the next city, but luckily it was the local one that stocked this one. The one where I work is very small, and is like the one you've mentioned, just a couple of mothercare branded ones then the more expensive ones like I candy and silver cross, with nothing in the middle price wise. We have gone for the britax affinity which is in the middle price wise. The recline mechanism is a little odd but im sure we will get used to it.

So much for doing nothing, I've been working on recovering the ottoman for the nursery. I've done the lid and am very happy (and proud!) with how it's turned out. I'm stapling the fabric on but have almost run out of staples so stopping now, think I'll go sit in garden for a bit and enjoy the sun. OH is out all day tomorrow so I will go get more staples and continue then.

skint - I was nervous but more excited now. Had a meltdown about a fortnight ago about the birth and then since then I've been much better and focused on the positives and now feel more excited. Glad I had the meltdown moment as I was wondering if the shift in perspective was ever going to happen! Being nervous is totally normal xx

For about the last week the baby seems to have got into a new pattern, quieter through the day and then livelier at night. It has kind of always been in this pattern I just feel its gotten quieter. Had a growth scan yesterday and they said the heartbeat was fine but not sure if this is just a new pattern or if I'm just worrying! Maybe I just need to pay more attention!?

I keep going through phases, I will be excited during the day and as I start trying to get some sleep I start to panic like crazy. Keep trying to switch off and remain positive but it's not really happening. Maybe I need a major meltdown moment as well just to get it out of my system.

I've noticed that my babies movements have changed as well, where as he used to love the right hand side and pretty much stay there day and night, he is now moving all over the place and seems to move more during the day than night now. Glad the growth scan went well, what were you measuring before it? xx

Good luck toots. Two weeks ago today they started inducing me, like you I was in for some time. Hope you're getting baby cuddles pretty soon

Skint - was over the 90th centile just a week ahead on the personalised chart but was estimating it to be quite big based on baby number 1. The big meltdown did help plus thinking "it's got to come out" there's no alternative it's only got two exit routes. Getting prepared is helping as is buying baby things but I still forget occasionally that chaos will soon reign again in our house!! I had a huge cry to DH then the next day finished work who bought me loads of lovely things and suddenly I switched to excited. I'm not completely over the nervous but feel a lot better

We went to a bigger mcare store and Oh has fallen in love with the silver cross wayfarer Chelsea edition. Unfortunately a lot of them are just not high enough for him as he is very tall... And the only thing putting me off the giggle 2 is the size of the basket underneath Whereas the wayfarer has a much bigger basket... The difference in cost is quite a bit though... And giggle 2 includes extras that wayfarer doesn't. Argh!!

Our pram is Uppababy Vista (the older model) and I absolutely love it! It is expensive at around £600 but the basket is massive. The pram itself is quite heavy and wide so not ideal for public transport or small car boots but its been brilliant for us, I never felt like I wanted anything different. Also has two handles sizes for taller and shorter people

The basket on the affinity is about average I think, I have to admit I just thought oh that will take a few bags of shopping and didn't really think too much more about it!!

Have been looking at change bags this evening, will just get a plain black one I think, some are expensive even though they look so plain and basic!!

I have to admit I didn't want to spend much more than £500 on the pushchair. In total ours was £555 which I'm very pleased with, considering I've just added it all up and it should have been £780 but the silver frame was reduced as was the carry cot and the isofix base was half price if you got the car seat.
  • ThinkPink that's good! I've not seen that in the shops we have been in.

Money penny, my boot is quite small :( I've heard good things about that one though.

honestly if you google the giggle you will see the basket... I'd be amazed if you could get more than one bag under there! The change bag would fill it if you didn't want it on the handles.
