Midwife has just said to keep an eye on things and see if it happens again. If it was by babies head then it would keep leaking but it could be a puncture somewhere else.

Hi all - was hoping to dip my toes in and say Hi :j

I need to step over from the 12-24 week thread as I'm now 25+3 and everything is looking good so far.

Had a consultant appt this morning and she's arranging for me to meet with a "normality midwife" - anybody have any idea what that's about?

She told us that we are aiming for a normal birth but I am still classed as high risk because of the auto immune condition so she will want me monitored throughout labour on the telemetric system but at present, can see no reason why I can't use the MLBU.

We're keeping an open mind and are happy to be guided by what they want us to do - they've been great so far.

    Welcome over.

Maybe they mean a normal midwife rather than consultant for routine check ups x

kroberts.. a small puncture can reseal.. so would not be an issue but if your waters are on their way out the chances are you would need a pad or at least to change your undies every hour or so.. you have 48 hours from waters breaking before the hospital start getting hysterical about infection and the like. The hospital have big swab type things that check if it is urine or amniotic fluid.. though I refused to have that done too haha.. I just said they were introducing infection risk and wouldnt let them near me. People sometimes don't deliver for weeks after their waters have broken but they usually are asked to keep an eye on temperature for signs of infection and discharge in case baby passes meconium (discharge becomes bright frog green)

If it hasnt happened again I'd go with urine.

I think I've ranted about this before but people telling me "to get as much sleep as you can just now" I should be allowed to punch. I don't sleep now so shhhhhhh! I am absolutely knackered sitting at my desk every day and today my neck has started to hurt. I'm having a moan ha!

Might regret saying I'd work until 37 weeks although I still have 2 weeks holiday to take.
  • I feel the same way Toots, I said goodbye to sleep a long time ago!! Wish I was starting maternity much sooner instead of 38 weeks... ahhh well, at least I get longer when the baby is here.

Welcome Gelly, great to see you over here.

I don't even know what sleep is any more!!

Between waking 1000 times to turn over and every time OH turns over.. there is my 6am pee.. the girls getting up at God-forsaken o'clock and the general utter insomnia.

I get more sleep once the baby arrives than I do when pregnant!

Me too. I have no idea what a decent nights sleep is anymore, I'm happy if I get 6 hours at the moment. Go to bed and takes me ages to fall asleep, then 2.30 wee call, and then maybe again about 4. Then I am wide awake at 5am, son gets up about 7.30ish when I am probably ready to snooze

I can't remember a good nights sleep without needing to wee, needing a drink or my pelvis being seriously painful. I've felt today as if I didn't recover over the weekend from the previous week at work. Thankfully my daughter is a good sleeper on the whole.
Unfortunately, as I was late coming home tonight when I stopped off for petrol, hunger and the smell made me throw up, and it appears my pelvic floor has gone missing again after reappearing after a couple of such episodes a couple of months ago. Exercise those pelvic floors ladies!

    Welcome Gelly

I got out of the wedding.. woohoo!!!!

OH's sister is a kn0b.. long story involving drink, drugs and currently at least 3 males on the go.. so.. OH is adamant we arent coming with the girls again while she is here.. so he is coming by himself, staying at his dads and just 1 night and coming back home.. MASSIVE relief for me.

1 night in this piece of crap bed and I feel like I am dying.. as a result of OH arguing with his sister this morning his mother has had a strop and 'accidentally' knocked me earlier REALLY hurting my dodgy left hip... I managed not to cry.. just.. I can't get in or out of the stupid bed on my own.. its one of those crappy 100% memory foam bits of junk.. no support at all.. I can't do 3 nights in it.. I'm kipping on the sofa tonight!

Saw the doctor yesterday. She managed to fit me in for a scan while I was there rather than in 2 weeks. So I've saved myself one visit. Though apparently I need growth scans right up til 36 weeks where they'll let me know whether I can use the MLU or not. She booked me in for another scan in a month. It was almost in 3 weeks (as 4 weeks from now is a bank holiday week and the docs are only there on Monday) but the receptionist moved it to after the bank holiday week so now it's ended up being 23rd May. I'll be nearly 35 weeks by then so hopefully it'll be the last one and they'll just let me get on with it without the bloody docs around!
