I barely have any stretch marks.. I got them on my thighs and boobs when I had DS1 but no extras worth noting since then!

I was expecting the MW to turn up at the house yesterday while I was fit to kill.. I could just see me answering the door, carving knife in hand lol... but she didn't.. so I'm guessing as the dates say 28 weeks next week she will turn up then.. and I won't be here... hahahaha!!!! .. I *might* (this is a truly enormous might!!) ask OH's cousin to check bp and stuff.. she is a mw and she'd probably be glad to have a poke if I'm honest.. though I'm not sure I know her well enough to cope with her touching me.. yes, I am THAT weird! My cousins OH is on my local community team at the moment.. I think I could cope with her touching me.

Just bringing this over to keep it current. I noticed that baby bath/shampoo isn't on the list for baby. Does anyone know why that it is? I'm going to take some in a travel bottle, just in case.

I've just bid on a birthing ball on eBay as well. They're so expensive brand new, but have heard they can be helpful in getting baby to change positions also, and the one I've bid on didn't end up getting used in birth as she had a C-section. Fingers crossed I win it, as 99p plus postage would be a bargain!

Rampant Recycler I've been Money Tipped!
    Congratulations Moog!!

Euronorris they say not to use anything but water for the first month so that could be why? Fingers crossed on winning the birthing ball. Would a gym ball do the trick? Argos do one for cheap and it's at the bottom of my road so I'm uhming and ahing whether to buy it or not.

Maternity leave is wonderful! Done a fair bit of cleaning and we went to a mothercare event last night and got some bargains with our 10% voucher, including an ex-display 2 in 1 swing that was only £45 after discounts (was £84.99) so pretty chuffed with that.

The bedroom rearrangement, in all honesty I could take it or leave it. I've currently got about a foot's worth of space to get out of bed because of the cot, but I'll survive. I think I need to have a chat with OH, as there's now three occasions where I've mentioned something to him and he's acknowledged it, and then a few days or weeks later he brings it up as a brand new idea that his mum has told him! arghhh! It's not big stuff:

    - I said I wanted a rotary clothes dryer a few months ago. OH brings it up after his mum suggested we get one..
    - When we bought our baby monitor he let me pick whichever I wanted and I got one with a room thermometer in it, telling him that it would save us having to buy one. Yesterday he said "my mum says maybe we should think about getting a room thermometer"........
    - I looked up twin groups in the area a few weeks ago, just to see if there was anything. I found one and told OH that they meet every Monday and how much it was. He was really for the idea. Then yesterday he said "My mum has found a twin group in the area" the EXACT same one I already told him about!
It's irritating me so much, because I know it's not being said to be helpful, it's said in a way to undermine me. (This is the woman who, when I was 25 weeks pregnant, sent me a link to twinsuk.co.uk, which is the first website that comes up on Google when you search twins! She knows I research stuff, especially as I knew I was having twins for 13 weeks prior to this!)
If she's like this now, what will she be like when the babies arrive?!

Oh, I hadn't realised that! Good to know. Thank you! :)

It seems that birthing balls and gym balls are exactly the same, as far as I can tell. I see no discernible difference between them, other than the fact that putting the word 'birthing' in front of it makes it more expensive! lol

Glad you're enjoying your maternity leave and that you managed to get some bargains :D

Sorry to hear your OH is being a pain. I think that is something that everyone does, to one degree or another, but never notices in themselves. My DH will do it with ideas I've mentioned, poo poo them, and then his mate says the same thing a week later and it's amazing all of a sudden! He never accepts that he does it either. Always denies that I ever mentioned it! My sister's husband is the same. It drives me up the wall! But, I've come to the conclusion that I'm guilty of it with some things too.

You could always just start saying something like 'Yeah, it is a good idea. Just like it was a good idea when I mentioned it to you last week.' each time he does it. He might get the hint then!

Lulu.. Just keep telling him you aren't stupid/thats the group you told him about already/if he thought you were too stupid to do anything for yourself maybe he married the wrong person etc.. just keep telling them all you already know and that you arent a moron... I'd just tell his mother to eff off.. but I'm not one for beating about a bush.

Euro.. the only baby toiletries i have bought is a bottle of baby bath.. they come out covered in poo, slime, blood.. yours and theirs to all 3... water will not shift it. it also gets off the grease which water doesn't, if left the grease will build up becoming cradle cap which is revolting and wont be shifted or they get sore in the sweaty places.. armpits being the worst.. fungal infections love them! They dont need bathing daily, they only have dirt from other people.. why do people wipe their hands on a babys head?? its gross! you wouldnt wash yourself with just water and they have your dirt on them too! and dried urine on their bottoms.

Flutter, last time I planned to start my maternity leave at 39 weeks with a weeks leave before hand, in the end I was signed off with exhaustion at 28 weeks. This time I'm planning on starting it at 37 weeks, my midwife doesn't think I'll be capable that long but if I can I will. I do work in an office though

Euro - I have a gym ball that I use, I think they're exactly the same as a birthing ball but a bit cheaper. TK Max do some gym balls for about £10. Good luck on getting that one for 99p though

Euro.. thats a pain.. I only bid in the last few minutes! .. ok, so usually with less than a minute to go.. try your local fb selling pages/gumtree/preloved/shpock .. look for nct sales.. you'll get one somewhere.. failing that.. car boot!

OH has looked at names.. 1 I like but its a bit common, 1 is ok as a middle name, 1 is likely to grow on me.. the other 3 are awful!!!
