I don't know how long this one has been breech ( if it is) as today was the first I had a proper feel around by my midwife.
Babies are usually breech earlier on and then as they grow and there's less space they tend to end up head down due to their shape and weight distribution and the shape of the uterus although obviously they aren't static and some will be changing position more than others. This is why premature babies are more likely to be breech. I think the NICE guidance is not to check for positon until 36 weeks because erlier on more are breech and they are more likely to turn naturally so it's not worth checking until late on.

Oh that's good to know, did they do any manouvering with you or did baby go on their own ?

I'm excited to see him/her again tomorrow, do you see much at this stage though ?

Had moved on its own. Little !!!!!!!!
I was told that if baby had still been breech we would have been booked in to see a consultant to discuss ecv and sections.
The problem is they can do an ecv and then baby moves back! I'd got it in my mind that whatever was needed to do we'd be happy to go with. They're only going to recommend a section if they thinks it's require. Plus planned section must be easier to deal with than emergency.

You couldn't see a lot, its too close up! But saw the heart beating away, could pick out the ribs too. They measure the circumference of head and abdomen, plus length of femur.

Isabelle was breech from at least 20 weeks. I'm quite petite & really didn't think she would turn. We were offered (forcibly so!) an ecv but decided against it due to only 50% chance & the fact she had been breech for so long. I had a planned c section & honestly it was fine. 6 days on & I feel ok, so if that's the only option eventually please don't worry :) xx

Becca how long was it in between you saying no to the ecv and them planning a section? Was it just down to hospital waiting list etc?

A lady at my nct had the same thing happen and they planned a section, although it ended up being earlier than planned because her waters broke! She is doing really well too x

Con1888 - I was breech most of the way through on my previous pregnancy. Was so desperate to move her around I had an acupuncture treatment at 36 weeks...moxibustion. Didnt work in my case (though quite good odds!) - went for a scan and possible trying to turn baby at 38 weeks (which I agreed to) but baby literally moved that morning :) There is still time!
  • Sorry changing the subject slightly just letting you know if you don't know already that boots currently have a glitch on huggies wipes at the moment.

We went to boots at the weekend and got 9 packs of huggies (not all the same as I previously thought you had to buy all the same ones to get the glitch, 3 pure, 3 Shea butter and 3 aloe Vera) all for just £1.26!!!

OH wanted to go back in and get more but I didn't want to take the mick!! He couldn't believe it!! I keep hearing him wandering around muttering '£1.26!' to himself!! He's posted it on his Facebook status as well, think I've inadvertently turned him into some kind of baby mad domestic money saving convert with just one glitch deal!! Lol
Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

I can't remember who it was that said you get achy arms when you have your whooping cough vaccine where totally right. Had mine this morning and wow does my arm hurt. I think sleeping tonight is going to be interesting as I tend to have to keep switching sides because I seem to be constantly uncomfortable.

I was also wondering what size nappies people where buying and how many? I don't know whether to just stick to size one or buy a pack of size two as well. Whether to only have 1 pack or think about buying 2 or 3??? Decisions decisions xxx

Yeah the whooping cough vaccine really killed my arm for the couple of days after it.

We've bought two packs of newborn sized nappies and then got a few free ones. It's not far from us to a number of shops so we figured we'd start with what we have now and then buy more after the first couple of days or so.

MIL always has nappies in for neice and her dogs and lives two mins away if we are ever caught short but I will probably just buy a box and see how we get on once me need some more

Vickyvics - we found our little man (8lb10 born) fitted size 1 okay but he's better in 2s cos there's a bit more room and he's not sitting right against whatever he produces!

They can produce rather regularly btw...
