Such a task trying to decide what pram to buy :(

Originally chose the Bugaboo Bee but saw the icandy strawberry and like that too.

Anyone have experience of either one? x

Just popping out of lurkerdom as my LO isn't due until August to say while I haven't had the strawberry I did have a peach, and it was brilliant until the brake cable snapped, making it unusable as the cable also controls the fold. When I took it in to be repaired they estimated 3-6 months to get the part  Indeed it took 5 months, the guy told me icandy are renowned for having a dire parts supply chain, we had to buy another pram (Babystyle Oyster) to see us through, we ended up keeping that one as when a wheel mount broke we took it in and it was back within us within 24 hours, and we found it an easier buggy for day to day life anyway. So all I'm saying is ask about what happens if it breaks, we never thought to ask this but apparently icandy are the worst for getting repairs done.

lushlifesaver - I will be buying some of that conditioner! - my hair is wild it is so thick and is getting dry.

mysecretalias - I thought I did have a neat bump but the way its expanding now makes it not so neat! As long as baby is ok I don't mind. Can always get fit after the birth and hopefully loose the extra weight.

chelseablue- I have gone for the Oyster. Really liked how small it folded up and the fact it is light.

The sides of my bump are just starting to expand sideways a bit now.....don't think my bump will be cute for too much longer!!! I don't mind what I look like it's just the extra weight to carry round does get tiring, I have just started to enter that phase where it does now feel like I'm carrying a baby around inside me!! :D

Claire there's only 1 pool at our hospital too although they keep telling us how under used it is. But will be typical that it's occupied on the day I want it!!

Does anyone know what a health visitor does. I've got a visit on weds (38+5) but not sure what for... Is it to spy on me and check I'm not a crack addict? I've already had a home visit from the midwife and from te breastfeeding support nurse so this seems a bit over kill. Unless it's just to meet them before baby gets here so I know what to expect afterwards!!
    I'm just suspicious by nature!!!

There are 2 big corner baths in the MLU too which she said they do deliver in, so 4 'pools' in total but I cant see that leaning on a hard bath would be as nice as an inflatable pool. So just hoping one of the 2 will be free!

Its weird because a while ago someone posted on this local facebook group they were usually quite easy to access as most people dont want water births, but the midwife yesterday was saying how busy they are. I think the problem is that the MLU rooms are really nice, they dont even have proper beds in them so its not hospital like at all, its all bean bags, mats etc, so people want to be in them regardless of whether or not they are using the pool. I was thinking hmm can I bump someone out if theyre not using the water :rotfl:

Yeah think HV are to check on your and your home so if youre not a crack addict you should be fine :)
Chelsea we went for the uppababy vista, with the maxi cosi pebble car seat and isofix base.

I had a major panicky dream last night that we hadn't got the pram or anything yet and I had it in my head that the last time we went into the shop they said it would be 6weeks from ordering to getting it (by which time I would be 34 weeks, argh!!) so we went with OHs parents this morning to order the pram and car seat and various accessories.

Well it turns out I was totally wrong about the 6 weeks and they actually had everything in stock so we actually left with everything this morning!!

So now we have the isofix and car seat in the car already :D although driving back from the shop it did cause OH and I to both have a bit of a panic attack as the reality that in a few weeks time we are going to have a baby in that car seat has just hit home.....

We just got our pram the other day and Im 37 weeks now. I wasnt too worried about it as I figured if the baby was to come prematurely you wouldnt be out with them yet anyway.

Our car seat and base are still in the loft, I think DH is going to get it down tomorrow. If I go into labour today (hopefully not :rotfl:) it would only take him 5 minutes to get it out and shove in the car, he can always work out how to install it whilst I waited in the hospital lol.

I think tomorrow we will install the base as thats going to be the tricky part, and then get the car seat out and keep it in the nursery until needed. Plus we bought a pink one, so I want to keep the tags on it til the last second, just incase a little boy were to pop out!

Some of you on the FB page will already know this... had my 36 week MW appointment today, she thinks baby is breech.

I have a growth scan tomorrow so will get to see for sure, if baby is breech MW said they will likely do the ECV to try turn baby, have looked it up and success rate of baby turning is 50%..

Has anyone had this done ?
I assume it wouldn't happen tomorrow and I would have another appointment booked at hospital to have it done.

I guess I will know more tomorrow, could all be for nothing as she said 'head' may well be bum lol.

Other than that, all is well, weather is lovely here so going to take doggy out a nice walk this afternoon :)

Glad to know as we got an Oyster. We looked at the strawberry but I couldnt justify the extra money.

We have just had the exact same situation! Last wed at 36wks I was measuring 34cm and baby was breech. Just got back from the growth scan now. Head is down!! So you've got time for baby to move yet.
measurements were all ok too. Baby has little legs (after daddy!) But currently weighing in at 6lb7!
 Mini me due March 2014

Oh that's good to know, did they do any manouvering with you or did baby go on their own ?

I'm excited to see him/her again tomorrow, do you see much at this stage though ?

Isabelle was breech from at least 20 weeks. I'm quite petite & really didn't think she would turn. We were offered (forcibly so!) an ecv but decided against it due to only 50% chance & the fact she had been breech for so long. I had a planned c section & honestly it was fine. 6 days on & I feel ok, so if that's the only option eventually please don't worry :) xx

Thanks, that's good to know that you feel okay, my friend is having her third section in June with her baby, first was breech, not sure about second and because she has already had 2 sections she was told this one's to be a section too, she also said it wasn't too bad. I'm just excited to meet little one regardless !!

I don't know how long this one has been breech ( if it is) as today was the first I had a proper feel around by my midwife.
