Just jumping in to say I've had my appointment through for a week from Thursday (one at 9 and one at 11.45 so looks like I'm gonna be there most of the day).

Babyb06 hope you're doing well and the advice above has been helpful. Sorry I can't add anything but I'm sending a *hug* :) x

is that for the heart scan Bamama?

I got yet another consultant appointment through, I think that is 3 in the next week!!.. I have given up cancelling them because the receptionists are so utterly rude I don't need to deal with that.. my 5 minute slot will allow them to catch up a bit :p .. it doesnt mean someone else wont get an appointment because they put them in anyway.. I know because I have been one of them.

    I'm having a grumpy day..

    Thanks sweetilemon.

Yea it's the heart one pigpen. Think one is for the scan and then the other is with cardiology to talk about it after. Still waiting on the actually letter to tell me where to go mind lol.

How come you've been given so many consultant appointments? Do they just love you that much?

They don't like me at all lol.. they dont even pretend to! hahaha.. One is for bloods/antibodies I think.. though I'm still waiting for the ones from 22nd December.. and 2 separate consultant ones i have no idea why and they cant tell me.. if i don know what it is for how do i know whether it is worth my effort and time? I went to the booking appointment what more do they want? lol. I ammost amused by the one offering a scan first, because we mummies are all mugs and will go just for that won't we? .. er.. no!! lol.. I'm not an easy customer!

If I have a reason to go I will, I wouldnt just refuse out of pure bloody mindedness. Realistically, they won't give me anything for the pain I am in, they won't magically make my kidney function 100% and they won't listen to my feelings or opinions so what is the point?

I'm sure it will all be fine in the end bamama.. many of these things rectify themselves before birth. Many babies survive with severe heart defects. Have you contacted British Heart Foundation? they have some fabulous info and couunsellors that can guide and support you.. my daughters friends little girl had severe problems and is doing really well now after several surgeries and she had a lot of support from BHF.

Pahahaha. That's very true pigpen. On the heart stuff I think I'm just gonna see what they say next week. I don't wanna panic or think about things that I don't really need to. As you said, it could well rectify and then I won't have a thing to worry about :)
  • Welcome skinbuthappy81!

Getting quite used to these long lies and daytime naps - it'll be a shock to the system when a crying baby appears. I've had so many lunches out this week, a couple next week too. Will need to curb that habit or ill have no money left for my maternity! Just wondered if anyone knows what day the mat pay comes in? Does it depend on your employer or is it the same for everyone? Does the pay come a week in lieu? I could phone the payroll depth but can't really be bothered with the hassle unless necessary.

It all depends on your employer and how you normally get paid. I'm not sure about the week in lieu question though.
  • I think you just get paid as you usually would.

After a day yesterday of baby being really quiet and starting to worry myself a bit today naby has been a right little wriggler all day. Very uncomfy and some very strong kicks. That's what I get for wishing it to move more lol

I had the health visitor come in the week, just introducing herself and giving me a pile of leaflets that they used to give you after birth, luckily she seems nice. Next midwife visit is on Monday, not sure what happens after that now
