Tens machine located, but I only have one set of pads for it so need to order some more. Also realised that we don't have the hose adaptors to fill our birthing pool from the kitchen tap, so texted the lady who's lent us her pool to check if she's got them. Not much point to a pool we can't fill!

  • I'm on my third week of Mat Leave, waiting for Little Miss to arrive. Not due until 27th Feb but I am booked in for induction on the 29th so want her to arrive this week please thank you very much!!!

So bored. I am tired and have pelvic girdle pain, so not able to really do much. Currently blubbing my way through back to back One Born Every Minute. Hoping the sight of babies being born will trigger mine!

Legs aching from bouncing on a gym ball.

Good job pineapples are only 69p in Aldi at the moment.

My husband is popping home at lunchtime to do his bit to help me get started... ;-)
  • Congrats Saffagal! Can I ask, were you not really scared going down for the operation? Did you keep calm during? I had an EMCS last time and am swaying towards an ELCS this time, I am just quite scared of being scared (sounds daft I know!). Last time I was knackered and a bit out of it and just wanted the baby out when I had an EMCS but if I have an ELCS I will be fully awares of whats going on! I would be glad of yours and any other experiences people can share. I like that you said it was calm though :)

Thanks sweetilemon. I'm really hoping it'll come tomorrow. They do have my phone number so I guess of it was that urgent then I'd have been called already?

I'm another that doesn't do ironing lol. Think the last time I got it out was to iron the folds out of New curtains before I put them up. That was when I was pregnant last time (with the now 3yo).

Moog... how good is a tens machine for the pain? All mine was in my back last time so considering using the one we've got if it's the same this time.

    Welcome Toots :)

I found it useful in the early stages last time Bamama, but when I panicked on the way into hospital I think the adrenaline overwhelmed the endorphins and it stopped helping. I noticed the difference when i had to take it off for my epidural though, it took them about 4 contractions to site it and they were dreadful, especially as I had to bold so still! We're planning a home birth this time and hoping for a much calmer experience. :) I'm doing hypnobirthing too, and have a pool which wasn't available to me in hospital last time as I was induced.

Oh worth a shot then. I was reeeaaally hoping for a water birth this time but I guess I'll have to see how it goes. I did get to go in the pool last time but I was in there so long XD I started falling asleep so they dragged me out and made me nap. OH left me alone with the midwives and I caved to pethedin(sp?). Couldn't get back in the pool then even if I'd been able to move :(
