  • Hi everyone, I had my little boy by elective section on 26th and he arrived at 8.45am which gave me lots more recovery time that day as I was first in. He is so cute if I do say so myself lol! :j everything was straightforward and we're back home recovering now. He was only 7lbs 10 despite all the scary scans showing a huge head etc he looks tiny and most of the newborn stuff is too big for him. I'll upload my birth story sometime soon. :) ps we don't have a name yet cos hubby decided last minute that he wasn't sure about the name we'd chosen.
  • Congrats faithhope!! Hope you are recovering well and that baby is doing great :D

Congratulations faithhope and welcome baby :)

I've just been out to meet up with the old NCT girls at a Chinese and have come home early as I think I'm getting contractions. They are regular but short so after eating my ice-cream I thought I'd better get home so DH doesn't tell me off.

I can hear him snoring from downstairs!

Sods law the only thing we really need and which is still up the loft is the baby's car seat! We were going to get it down tomorrow *rolls eyes*

I'm going to time the next few contractions, take some paracetamol, check my hospital bags and then see if I can doze.....

...if its not a false alarm please wish me luck!

Please forgive the badly spelt alias... I am a long time contributor who needed to reclaim anonymity for health/job related posts.

  • If it's any help, ultrasound weight estimates are notoriously inaccurate - both NICE and RCOG consider them too inaccurate to be worth basing anything on. (I happen to have been reading up recently as my baby is supposedly big too.)

I believe there is 25% leeway on each side, meaning a prediction of 8lb could be 6lb or 10lb!
