Rambosmum that's lovely he's so proud to be a great - grandfather and excellent news about the birth centre!

Littlemoog that's frustrating about your bloods, I was able to phone the next day for results, might be an option for before 32w? Sounds promising with the home birth plan! Goodluck.

Hope everyone is enjoying Christmas!! Devildolly I am with you with the joy of no work! I'm working a couple of days for a few hours over the next two weeks but nothing strenuous!

Really enjoying today, had a lovely relaxing time - completely stuffed from Turkey and trimmings dinner!! Bought the furniture set, moses basket, baby monitor, room decor things and much more online for delivery while I'm off work. Hoping to move our belongings to the new house over the next few days. Can't wait to get the babies room set up. Just enjoying their kicks.
  • In the spirit of MSE I had a couple of buying boo boos in the festive excitement...Bought my furniture set from argos then after I ordered it I realised I could buy the mattress half price with this purchase but I didn't buy the mattress...I have emailed to ask if they will add it on. Also forgot to use TCB! My moses basket I bought from John lewis then realised it was the same price with the white company but I could have got 20% off with them, think I'll just accept the £15 and put it down to experience.

    Must try harder lol.

hi everyone, congratulations Pinkshoes on the birth of your babies!

Got wee bit of news, had my baby, on 14th dec! We've named her Charlotte, she weighed 6lbs 4.5oz.

Was bit of a shock, as 10 days early, and I've been kept in hospital for 8 days after, as I developed pre-eclampsia, brought on by giving birth. had to call DH at work and ask him to come home, as wasn't able to drive myself to consultant appt that afternoon. Got to hospital, went straight to CLU, where they thought I just had a urine infection, as pain was stinging down below. Had a show, so mw checked me, was 4.5 cm dilated at 1:30, and baby as born at 2:39pm. Had Gas & air, but pain horrendous, so was given diamorphine, though no time to work as I needed to push straight after getting it. Was worrth the pain and shock of it all though.

I got out on Monday and have spent this week trying to get rest of Xmas shopping done. Though bp still high, so on Meds to bring it down.

Hope everyone else is well and had a nice Xmas!

Wow horse! Congratulations. I hope you are feeling better now after the pre-eclampsia.

I hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas. I had a good day, in laws have gone now and I'm putting my feet up for the rest of the day.

I keep having what I can describe as 'niggles'- back ache and very low bump ache, bit like period pain so I think baby is engaging. I don't expect anything to happen anytime soon though.

House is clean after the festivities though, so it wouldn't be too bad if baby came now, though none of babies bedding is clean! Should probably do something about that!

I got some lovely Christmas gifts. Was meant to be visiting my family up in Cumbria today or tomorrow but our route is flooded in various places so I don't think we'll make it.

I've also paid off one of my credit cards (very MSE) and my other credit card will be paid off tomorrow so I'll be starting 2016 debt free :)

I'm pretty convinced that this will be my only child, I don't know how people make that kind of plan, but everyone I know is like 'I'd like 2 kids' or 'We want 3'. I can't see me with 1! So I think I'm going to try and live frugally whilst on mat leave with the intention of going back to work later, as there won't be a second chance.

Thanks Rambosmum. Yes, I'm feeling better now. Hospital, never told me at any point that I had pre-eclampsia, it was my community MW, who said from reading my notes that I had it. She said hospital wouldn't want to panic me, so wouldn't have told me, as they were struggling to get my blood pressure down. I'm just glad I'm well now, and DH and I can finally enjoy our baby. He done a great job of coping without me, organising our other 2 kids with school and everything.

Rambosmum - I had the same niggles in the last few weeks, Period type pain which spread round my back and under bump. I had the pain on/ off in evening day before baby came. It disappeared overnight but came back around mid morning. My contractions had no consistency, as were between 5 and 30 mins apart, but I was nearly in tears trying to breathe through it, with only my 2 dogs for company. This labour was such a different feeling to my last labour. Sounds like your body is getting ready.

Congratulations horse! And thank you for all the congrautuations messages everyone!

After a week in hospital, DD managed to gain weight and they let us go home just before Christmas. Sadly her brother had to stay in hospital, but is making steady progress. He has been moved go a lower dependency unit, breathing is fine, he is regulating his own temperature, and finally today he started gaining weight. We just now need to get him to feed by himself rather than via tube.

The journey back and forth to the hospital (42 mile round trip) is tiring, combined with constant milk expressing (both too little to latch at the moment) and feeding a premature baby is exhausting, but we are surviving. I dread people going back to work which will make the hospital trip an horrendous journey. Fingers crossed that things keep improving and my little boy can come home soon.

I was so unprepared for their early arrival!

Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Pinkshoes - I'm glad they are both doing well. Twins sounds exhausting enough without the extra issues and the traffic.

I'm on area surrounded by flooding at the moment, luckily we are ok but the route to the hospital is flooded (we would likely just be able to get through if needed though).

I've been having niggles all day again, back ache and low bump, stronger than the last few days but I'm not holding out any hope, DTD earlier, but I don't expect any movement, I'm only 37 weeks.
