Hi ladies - long time no posting for me!
Hope everyone is well - I can't believe how fast the time is passing! I am now 38+2 and beginning to realise what people talk about when they say those last 'awful' couple of weeks!
Very uncomfortable in bed, and at times during the day with pressure 'down below'. OH has been away working so I have felt on tenterhooks these last 6 weeks, he is due home today but flights seem to be delayed. Hoping he makes it.
Had a midwife appt on Monday which showed some protein in my urine so having a home visit on Friday as I think she wants to keep an eye on blood pressure/swelling due to that.
Can't wait to be posting pictures of our babies when they all arrive

I had my thyroid appointment today littlemoog - they always run so late, it was half an hour late today, last time it was 50mins.
Good news is I've been discharged from endocrine now, as I'm so close to the end. Was just advised to go back down to normal dose immediately after birth and get a blood test 6 weeks after birth.
I feel rubbish today. I love my new carpets but everything is still in the living room and the house is a state, OH has done his back in playing football after work (something he doesn't normally do) which means a third night sleeping on the floor. I can hardly get off the bed let alone the mattress on the floor and no way I can lift it back up the stairs!
Did some of the Christmas food shop today - nuts and other nibbles, soft drinks and crackers. I'm dreading the big shop next week, I hate it anyway but more so now!0 -
And hieveryone I'm not ignoring your post, just hoping to put off facing the reality of the awful last two weeks just a bit longer!0

Rambosmum I know what you mean about the shopping, I tried to go into the city for christmas shopping, so stressful with everyone bashing into my bump and huge queues, did most online instead. We are still decorating the new house so a few nights on a blow up bed for us too. My hips are getting sore with it. Enjoying having a bath at the new place though, can't wait to properly move in!
I've got my glucose test tomorrow, the midwife said she doesn't need to see me as I'll be checked then, hoping I get to hear the heartbeat, feels like ages since I last heard it!
Hieveryone hope the pains ease a bit and nothing comes of the protein - not long to go! Must be frustrating having pain so late on when you just want to relax and prepare.0 -
Just to let you know that 50 hours after my post I became a mummy again to a beautiful boy and girl born at 34 weeks!
Went to my MW appointment at 12pm and got DH to drive me as I had back ache and cramps. Assumed it was probably constipation due to iron tablets.
She sent me to MAU to check I wasn't in labour. After a 45 min drive, 20 mins trying to park, then having to park on double red the other side of the hospital (along with 100s of other cars doing same) and a 20 min waddle, a midwife at MAU assessed me at 2.30pm and I was 4cm dilated. Baby girl born 2 hours later, then her brother followed after 20 minutes. Natural birth with just gas and air.
Still in hospital and little boy in high dependency, but hope to all be home for Christmas.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
