Saffagal - my DD is always an angel for other people, even when she's been in a phase of playing us up. Pesky child! :rotfl:

We've had a quiet weekend, I'm getting really sore at the moment.I don't feel uncomfortable when I go to sleep, but when I wake up my tummy muscles and pelvis hurt :( need to get some more pillows and try not to sleep with one leg pulled up so my knees are too far apart. Only 26 weeks, so there's still a long way to go :o

    Congratulations Jwil!

Not so good Littlemoog, the physio class I went to suggested holding in your stomach muscles a few times daily to strengthen them. Not too long to go but so far at the same time. The cat keeps sleeping on my hip which is sore, spend half the night shooing him off. Started getting leg cramps too.

Love my new house, can't wait for it to be decorated so we can move in officially. Looking forward to getting some baby furniture in so I can start arranging their clothes and things. Do feel like it's spend spend spend just now though. Would be good if we could rent or sell our flat so we were better off financially. Not looking forward to the house bills!

Hope you get your maternity sorted soon saffagal. I'm still waiting for both my workplaces. One work said they needed the original MATB1, i hadnt heard from them since sending paperwork weeks before, they told me this when i called, so I sent it recorded delivery. Phoned a few days later to confirm it's being processed to be told they had still not received it. I said someone had signed for it so it was in their office...still not heard back! Other workplace have said it's "unlikely" I will recieve SMP even though I've met the conditions, they lost last month's timesheet so i brought up with HR I want that considered in the calculations, will wait for the official response before I argue...sorry if that's a repeat rant lol.
  • Huge congrats jwil. Let us know how you get one.

Sweetielmon, my cats do the same thing, one in front of the other like a huge fluffy sausage. My hips are killing me in the morning because of it.

Had the hospital tour yesterday. Got to see the lovely birth centre I wont be able to use. Have my consultant appointment today and will ask if being high risk totally rules me out of a water birth on the labour ward. Prepared to not be allowed to use it now, so if I am, I will be over the moon. Think today is also a growth scan so we'll see if this baby is still measuring super long.

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend. Catch up properly in a few days.

    Congratulations Jwil.

Sweetilemon- my cats sleep on our bed too, they sandwich us between them and one between my legs, so moving in the night is a real pain!

Littlemoog- I wake up and find my stomach muscles really sore, even worse if I need the loo.

As for me, all is good. I'm starting to pile on the weight :( which is not so good, and had a headaches last night but generally I'm doing well - everyone seems really surprised I'm coping as well as I am, I certainly wouldn't consider myself a pampered princess normally, but that appears to be how people see me!

Just got back from the midwife, there was med student in, he asked to do the measuring and feel my tummy etc - got everything really wrong! (I'm 34 weeks and he had me measuring 24 cms and thought baby was on the other side of my uterus) I was like 'umm, you might want to try that again' second time lucky though! I'm actually measuring perfectly and baby is all good, got to see the heart beat.

I also asked about the birthing centre, as I've been discharged from the cardiologist and my placenta is no longer low and my thyroid is well controlled and shouldn't cause an issue with birthing anyway. Midwife said she couldn't see why I couldn't use the birthing centre but would double check, so fingers crossed!

Thanks ladies. I think the problem is my natural sleeping position, I always sleep on my side slightly tipped onto my front, with my top leg pulled up and bent to support me. (not sure that's making sense - like the recovery position!) I tried sleeping with a pillow under my top leg yesterday to see if it would stop me pulling it so far up in my sleep, as I think it's hurting my pelvis, but I couldn't get comfy and it made me really over heated! I've been using a wedge cushion under my stomach which helps if it stays in place but last few nights I've been restless/disturbed as DD has a cough which keeps waking me, and DH has been suffering with gout and not sleeping well.

Rambosmum - thyroid shouldn't be a reason to keep you out of the birth centre, I got my obs/endo clinic consultant to sign off in my notes that I could use it with DD, although I ended up being induced then EMCS so never actually got to use it. I would have been fine for spontaneous labour though.

I see the endo consultant next week so I'll ask them to record it in my notes that its fine.

I sleep as you do too - before I got pregnant it was like that but mostly on my tummy - I still slip on to my tummy occasionally but junior lets me know about it!
  • Hello everyone, I'm bumping myself up to this thread as I'm 25+5 today and after having my midwife appointment am feeling happier being in here :)
She told me that baby is just above average in size but it's nothing to worry about.

So can I be added to the list please?

    Me-charlotte - EDD 17/3/16 - Pink
    hi :D
  • me-charlotte i have a friend named Charlotte whos birthday is your due date!! How bizzare :)

Im getting really bored of being pregnant now, that and also scared of how i'll cope once baby is here and dh goes back to work. Its so strange having mixed feelings. Im enjoying the nesting, probably one of the best parts of being pregnant, except ive got a terrible urge to paint the whole house which i know i couldn't physically do myself. Dh says he'll do it, but ive only got 3 weeks left so he needs to hurry!!
Still here..... but working on that!

That's exactly how I sleep Littlemoog. I have noticed if I lean to much on my stomach the baby wakes me up kicking. Oops! Think I'll need to start using cushions soon, the bump is starting to get in the way.

I know what you mean about the nesting littleskintdragon, we've just started decorating the new house and I just can't wait for it to be all perfect and be able to bring in all the baby clothes and equipment. TBH apart from not fitting through spaces I normally can I don't feel much different being pregnant. It's still a shock when I catch a look of myself in the mirror though! I need to start buying things for my hospital bags. I fear if my waters were to break in my only maternity jeans I'd need to go home in jammies lol.
