  • Thanks for the warm welcome and pyjama tips all :D

Exciting that this is the thread where people actually go off and have a baby at the end of it! Looking forward to hearing about baby's arrival bellola - good luck!!

devildolly We have our first NCT class this Thursday and I'm so excited! Have already had an email from the course leader with everyone's names in, so I know there will be 7 other couples there. Hopefully with that number there'll be at least a few who we can become firm friends with.

I think I felt baby having hiccups for the first time in bed this morning - it was a regular jolt movement in exactly the same place for a minute or so, so thought it was unlikely to be kicking.

I sort of wish I was doing NCT classes again this time, I really enjoyed them and made some great friends. We had 7 couples in our group and we're all still in regular contact, can't wait to go on ML so we can meet up more often! Work definitely gets in the way of my social life these days! :o I am looking forward to my hypnobirthing course in January, I feel really positive about avoiding interventions this time around.

Good luck for the birth Bellola, hope it all goes smoothly for you x

  • Hi all,

Had a midwife appointment this afternoon.
All ok, and next appointment is on thurs when i get my caesarean date!! I cant wait! :)

I was wishing my work days away, but ive realised how easy i had it in work compared to now when im running around after a two year old.

4 people i know have had babies in the past 3 days, i feel like the only one left. Lol.
Still here..... but working on that!
  • Awww that's nice littleskintdragon, would be lovely to have friends having babies at the same time as me. It'll be nice to be able to have play dates. I might eat my words but I'm on my feet all day - how much more tiring can it get? Lol. Apart from the sleepless nights I suppose.

Good luck bellola, hope all goes well and look forward to hearing your story when you're ready.
  • sweetilemon it gets much worse! Lol. :rotfl:
When i had dd, i was 20, and found it really lonely as no one else i knew was having babies, so its lovely knowing lots of pregnant people. They've all been putting baby pics on fb, and i keep looking and cant believe i'm going to have another one!

Had a bit of a rubbish night sleep. I'll miss my bump when it goes, but cant wait to turn over in bed without waking dh up!!
Still here..... but working on that!
  • Bit of a mixed bag here. 37 weeks yesterday, so baby is now full term and can come whenever she likes.
However MiL results are back - stomach cancer :( Both me and hub expected it really, but to hear the word is awful. She is feeling better in herself and they are trying to build her up while they run some more tests and figure out how to treat it. I am worried it has spread or advanced as she has been hiding her eating problems for ages. She kept saying she wanted to get my FiL sorted first. He has some issues with his prostate. Unfortunately cancer treatment can't wait. I think she suspected it had returned and was burying her head in the sand.
I'm not sure what to say to hub tbh, despite having lost my father to it at 17. We both tend to deal with things by 'being strong', but it's not always best long term.

I am hoping she will be able to go home soon and when baby arrives we can show her to her. We won't be allowed in the hospital. Also got to explain to DS grandma isn't well. Not sure how to go about it :(

    Hope everyone else is well.

Diamond Orchid - I'm so sorry to hear that. Don't really have anything to say other than it sucks. OH lost is gran in May to cancer, they were really close - she'd raised him when he was little. It was horrible.

Littleskintdragon that's what I feared! Oh no lol. Think I may have a lot to learn lol. I plan to go to baby/tots classes in the hope of meeting other mums with babies. Don't think my friends will be far off, the few I know with children are older kids now and mums back at work.

Diamond Orchid - thats awful news, I am so sorry to hear that. On the positive I'm sure your new baby will her joy on her down days. Thinking of you and family, it's a difficult time.
  • Thanks both. I just hope they can treat it, but only time will tell :( Got to stay focused on the joy of the new babe, and sure she will help keep Grandma positive. It's blxxxdy awful near Christmas too, with my niece and nephew

It's a good attitude diamond orchid, you can't make it ok so all you can do is focus on the positives no matter how hard it is. You sound very strong, especially with all those pregnancy hormones flying around. Take care of yourself.
