Hello, everyone! Just added myself to the list, finally! I'm due on Christmas eve and it's my last day at work today. Glad to be finishing as everything is getting rather heavy and my feet really hurt on the 1.5 mile walk to work!

I finished work two weeks before I had my little boy (in November 2013) so it will be nice to finish even earlier this time. Will need the extra time as we're not organised at all - need to buy Christmas pressies and dig out and wash all the baby stuff!
  • Oh really? I had a Moses basket for my son first time then he had a bumper when he went in his cot.
Little one will have her crib next to me and put the bumper on it but may remove it as I won't be able to see her for a quick check when laying down. It does look so pretty though

Still waiting for results for my urine test. Saw midwife today who said it's very likely I have a UTI and this would account for the pains I've been having. Some backache and some period like cramps. It was also tender when she was feeling the baby. Bubs is now 4/5 so starting to make her way down.
My headache hasn't returned thankfully but I am so tired. The school runs and a little bit of house work is my limit. It's a shame as in my head I want to be nesting, but my body is telling me no!

  • Hi locky, it was my last day in work yesterday. Lovely thought not going in for so long!!

Diamondorchid- i saw it on fb again today not to use bumpers. Have a google.

Saffagal - glad everything was ok with the scan :)

Ive had such a busy days today, done some cooking for the freezer. Ready for when baby is here.
Sitting down finally now, and hoping not to have to move anytime soon!!

I would like to try hypnobirthing, just need to find out more about it.

I think the danger with the cot bumpers is if they come off. Without it I'd worry about LO hurting themselves. Still in 2 minds whether I'll use them or not, if I do I will tie very tight let and check daily.

I am being quite paranoid about my kicks, think baby has moved so feeling low kicks now, missing the sticking out my belly kicks!! Although as long as I still feel them I will try not to worry.

Littleskintdragon how long are you off for? Must be a great feeling!! Can't wait to get my maternity confirmed.

Welcome niptuckfan! The 12-24 must be getting quiet!

Tried to buy my OH a mini bottle of red wine as I obviously haven't been drinking so not been opening a big bottle at dinner anytime. Got IDd, I had recently needed my licence for work so wasn't in my purse so got refused (I'm nearly 28)! How embarrassing - cheered me up though especially because it wasn't for me lol.
  • sweetielemon lol about the id! Hope dh wasnt to disappointed!
Ive got annual leave until dec 27th, then im taking my 9 months, and then im adding on my next years annual leave so it works out over 11 months, if we can afford it!!
Hypnobirthing looks good, im being booked in a week or two early for a caesarean, so no point in me researching anything else :(

A friend just shared this on FB, there's been quite a lot of articles this week:
    http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/cot-bumpers-pose-serious-threat-6888304

I'm booked onto a hypnobirthing class starting in January, I've heard really good things about it and struggled to stay calm/focussed after we transferred to hospital last time. Anything to avoid a repeat cs!

I did hypnobirthing classes in my first pregnancy and found the breathing techniques really useful when in labour. I was a bit skeptical and didn't really ever totally engage in it but it made me feel a lot calmer and more confident about giving birth. I also did NCT classes too, which I found really useful.

Nah he wasn't fussed. I could have gone to the local shop when I got back but decided to save myself the £3.50 (2 x £1.75) lol.

It is a scary thought with the income dropping but I suppose I will just be happy spending time with LO I won't be focusing on spending money!
