So sorry to hear that Diamond orchid. Going through something similar with OH dad. Diagnosed with terminal lung cancer on top of all sorts of other health issues. Cancer cant be treated due to his health so it is mainly paliative care. Everyone is just trying to get on with it, not ignoring that it is there, but not allowing it to be centre stage. Its really hard when you have something wonderful to look forward to like a new baby, but something awful at the same time. We are adjusting to feeling elated and down at the same time if you know what I mean.
Thoughts are with you and OH. As others have said, I'm sure seeing baby will be wonderful for her.0 -
So sorry to hear that news about your MIL Diamond Orchid, and for your FIL devildolly. It must be a very difficult time, hopefully focusing on a new baby will bring everyone some relief xLittle monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160

Sorry to hear that you are also going through similar, devil dolly
It makes you feel a little guilty to be happy, but at the same time know that you have every reason to feel happy and they too will be happy for the new baby.
Sounds like MiL has cancer of the stomach lining, so they are giving her tablets to soften the lining up as it became hard, then will give her drugs to treat it, rather than chemo. Apparently a new type of treatment. We are hearing things second hand from FiL but my husband is going to see her tonight so may get some more answers.
We're not sure how advanced it is or whether it has spread, but hoping the approach they have agreed means we have caught it in time.
I am now going back to bed for a nap. Had one yesterday which turned into 3 hours, so will set my alarm for 1.5 today.
Still no car seats from mamas and papas! Getting a bit annoyed now. It's bad they haven't even sent an email or called to apologise for the delay. Now 10 days late.0 -
Hi everyone - hope you don't mind me joining the thread.
. I'm 37 wks today with #3. I've not been on this forum for a long while, but just remembered it was a great help with my last pregnancy.
Sorry to hear what you're going through Diamond Orchid and devildolly5. Positive vibes for you both.
My previous 2 pregnancies, I had pre-eclampsia, and this pregnancy was going good until 2 weeks ago, and my b.p shot up. It wasn't really high, but high enough to be prescribed b.p tablets. I am totally shattered now throughout the day, though they're helping me sleep at night, now averaging 6 hrs instead of 2 hrs!. Though my consultant is talking of giving me a sweep next week, if b.p stays high. I wish I was more organised lol.
I have been experiencing pressure pain, like a stabbing pain down below, my MW says its baby's head going further into pelvis. I'm terrified labour is going to come on while DH is at work, and I'm at home with the kids myself. My other 2 labour were quick, 2nd came on with no warning. Has anyone else experienced this pressure?2017 - no clutter to be seen challenge: 72/2017

Welcome horse76. Christmas eve, what a lovely due date. I am not as far on as you with my first so can't comment on the pelvic pain but wish you all best.
That's us got our house now so will start the nesting stage now! Woohoo. Still waiting on materity confirmation, wish they would hurry up.0 -
Hi horse,
Ive had two caesarean previously so cant comment on the quick labours. Im booked in for one this time too on the 30th of this month. Were your last late or early?
sweetilemon congratulations on the house
diamondorchid im not sure if i said i was sorry about your mil newsi hope it turns out ok for you. My nan has cancer too, she's having her op next week. I just cant imagine not having her around, this is her third cancer. So sad!
Has anyone else felt teary at all? Im worried that im getting more down than i should. I cried so much last night and this morning, practically sobbing. I just hope it passes. Im so scared of getting post natal depression.Still here..... but working on that!0 -
Thanks littleskintdragon. Yes I've started crying a few times about not much. Most of my emotions seem to be heightened.0

Hey everyone,
Sorry I haven't posted for ages. Hope everyone is well.
DD arrived last Saturday 28th at 39+2. Nice and relatively quick - plug went in the morning, waters went at 4pm and she was born at 10.49pm. 9lb 8oz.
She's a sweetie, and DS is enjoying being a big brother at the moment.

Congratulations jwil! Glad to hear that DS is thus far enjoying his promoted status.
Have to confess that that is one of my biggest worries - how DD is going to transition.
I decided to buy DD a doll with car seat from baby; will have it in the hospital with me and when DH brings her to meet baby will have the present. Anyway, saw one at Asda last week which DD loved, so made a special trip to get it without her - and they'd sold out. I was practically in tears over it... how utterly silly!
sweetilemon, Congratulations on your new home! How very exciting!
Welcome to the thread horse76.
Diamondorchid and devildolly; am very sorry to hear about your relatives. There isn't anything I can say that will make it easier to bear, but don't feel guilty being excited and happy about your babies - although your family are going through difficult times, the impending birth of your little ones is something positive which will give you all strength.
Diamondorchid, I would definitely complain about the carseats. If you're paying for a service, you have a right to expect a good service. They may apologise with a discount? I complained to my mobile provider the other week about sudden poor signal at home, and they have given me a month's tariff as compensation.
AFM, 10 weeks to go but three weeks, or 9 days of work left. I cannot wait to finish work! I feel like I am ready with the preparations for baby - well, if baby arrived we'd cope. On the other hand, DD has dropped her daytime sleeps and been quite "challenging" and I have been thinking how on earth am I going to manage her and a baby!?
Planning to move DD into her new big girl bedroom on Wednesday (as then have 5 days before back in work and even then only for a half day)
I had my mat pay confirmation through from payroll yesterday and was fuming - they have written that I requested to have my pay annualised. I most certainly did not! So emailed both HR and payroll stating that that is not the case and asking them to correct it. I am planning to take a year off, but should I return early will lose money if they annualise my occupational mat pay so am not prepared to have that done. Fingers crossed they act quickly and sort it out. Would prefer it is sorted before I go on leave.
We're off out to OH's work Christmas do tonight; I've missed the last two since DD was born. MIL and 2 sil's are coming round to babysit and put her to bed later. I'm glad to be having a night off but terrified of how it will go with them putting her down as DH struggles to put her to bed.
Hope that everyone has a lovely evening x0 -
