I've finally decided to join in here!
I'm 28 weeks tomorrow, this is my 4th and final baby and I have to say that this is most definitely my worst and most difficult pregnancy!
I'm supposed to be under consultant-led care, but I've only met the consultant once, at 12 weeks, and will only see her again at 33 weeks! I'm under consultant care because I had shoulder dystocia with my last birth and I tend to have big babies, so they're keen to avoid another shoulder dystocia.
I have SPD this time and it's really been affecting me this week. I can barely walk today, my mood is awful and I'm already on iron tablets as I suspected I might be anaemic a few weeks ago, so asked the GP for a blood test. Low and behold, I'm anaemic! Granted, it wasn't as bad as it's been in previous pregnancies - 10 as opposed to 8 in my last pregnancy - but I felt really rubbish. Physio was useless as she only gave me a support belt, no manipulation, etc. so I'm seeing an osteopath privately instead, which seems to help.
On the plus side, I'm seeing the midwife on Thursday and will speak to her then about what I can take for the pain I'm in.
I feel like all I've done today is moan! On the bright side, we've got most of the basics for baby and I managed to get 10% off the pushchair and car seat we wanted when we were at the Baby Show 2 weeks ago :T.
I'm also going to start washing baby's clothes while I am still semi-mobile as I'm sure that will put me in a better mood.
I'm keeping my eye on the end goal - a beautiful, healthy baby in my arms. I know that all the pain, discomfort and moodiness will be worth it...0 -

Hey all, long time no speak.
I am 33+3 now and been getting the sickness back again
Bump feels heavy and I feel uncomfortable with my pelvis, but not too long to go now.
I have my growth scan next week on Tuesday, so really looking forward to seeing baby again. Bit disappointed I won't get a photo though! She's very active and measuring average at the moment, so hoping she will be 'average' and my birth will be easier this time.
I have joined a pregnancy yoga/relaxation course, I had the first session on Monday and found it a bit hippyish but the breathing exercises seem to help you feel in control. I just have to try and remember to not panic when labour actually starts! Hub will need to be very reassuring.
I am also consultant led care - yet only met her once before at about 13 weeks and again next week. Seems a bit daft. Though I take this is a good thing as means they aren't overly concerned
Also happy to have a name for little lady, just deciding on a middle name now. Feel I have to give her one as our son has one.
My countdown to maternity leave is officially on - I leave on 20th so with holiday taken into account, I only have 11 working days left. When does everyone else finish?
Hope everyone else is OK

Hey, I'm 32+3 today. I'm also consultant-led and had a growth scan yesterday, baby is still on the 5th centile, so we're back again in 2 weeks for another one! Placenta etc all looks good still, but they're still suggesting that I will be induced no later than 38 weeks, possibly 37. I have mixed feelings about it at the moment, 37 weeks particularly feels too early to me. Anyway, until the next growth scan it's all ifs and maybes.
Diamond I've just worked it out and with other holidays already booked in, I only have 16 working days left! Woohoo!
Anyone else around this stage with baby still in breech position? Apparently he's legs extended too, which has never been mentioned before. I know he still has plenty of time to turn but I'm concerned that the earlier they want to get baby out, the less time he has to turn and the more likely a section will be

Hi snowball im 32 weeks on sat. Been checked today and baby is head down. Im definitely having a section though so it doesnt make a difference here.
Just wondering if it will be before or after xmas, because this is baby 3, and i dont want to be in on xmas day!!
Ds was breech until due date week too. Is this your first?Still here..... but working on that!0 -
Yes this is my first. Have had numerous scans for growth and they all say how comfy he seems. I think he tried to have a wriggle round at weekend, but his head is right back up again now.
My due date is 28 December so previously I'd been wondering about xmas day, but it looks like that won't be an issue for us now!0 -
What's the fifth centile? Is that measuring smaller? My son was on the 11th centile when born :rotfl: He was huge!
As far as I am aware, my baby is head down. Had some pains down below which I had last time when DS was starting to engage. Certainly feeling heavier. Will have to see what my scan says next week. I hope she is head down still.
I don't want to be induced but they will if she is showing big. Plus point would be it would avoid Christmas. If I am allowed to go naturally it's more likely she'll be born Xmas day lol.0 -
diamondorchid 11th centile isnt that big is it? The lines go up to 90 odd centiles. Could he have been further up? I dont want to be in hospital at xmas

snowball i had lots of scans last time, ds was 6lb 15 in the end. If baby is still small when i next see the mw i can see me being shipped down again for scans!! Im 39 weeks on boxing day, so havent got a clue when they'll do it!!Still here..... but working on that!0 -
Yes, because he's under that 10th centile line on the chart they say he's too small and they will want to induce. But they've not told me what weight he would be in final weeks if he continues progressing as he is? I'm trying to figure it out based on previous scans and reckon he'd be 6-7lb which isn't that tiny, both me & DH were 7lb babies (and we both were over our due dates). And that's even if they've got their estimations right, everyone keeps telling me they get est birth weights wrong all the time... I know people mean well, but it doesn't help when I'm in the hands of the consultant

I suppose all of this is for the conversation with the consultant after our next scan.
Do you know when they'll be giving you a date littleskintdragon?0 -
Ive got an appointment on 10th Dec with the consultant , but i want to know now!! Lol.
I wouldnt worry im sure baby is fine, some are big and some are small, as long as baby is growing healthily and doesnt stop then surely thats what's important. Two of my friends have just had babies, one was only 5lb something born, and the other 9lb 14. both baies are absolutely perfect.Still here..... but working on that!0
