    Dragon - I think it can be an early indicator of pre-eclampsia, but as this is your third pregnancy that is really really unlikely, so they'll likely just monitor you - platelets are the things that help you clot I think so your more likely to bleed. It may be a spurious result though. Hope your ok. Try not to worry!

    Hi again all,

    Hope you are all doing OK? Does anyone else have interrupted sleep now? Normally I sleep like the dead and even with getting up to visit the loo, am normally straight back to the land of nod on entering bed. But now I can't get back to sleep until I've felt the baby move, just in case there is a problem. He normally does move within a short amount of time, but sometimes I think he is asleep too and then it takes a bit longer. This is probably highly irrational, but I can't seem to help it!

    I also wanted to recommend an excellent book called 'bumpology' by Linda Geddes. It's literally an answer to my pregnancy-reading prayers as I tend to trawl the scientific research literature for all the latest studies and reviews on everything from drinking alcohol to pethidine efficacy (I am a scientist). Linda is a science journalist and she has done all this work for me in the book, which covers pregnancy through birth to baby psychology, honestly it is excellent, I can't recommend it enough.

    I saw on the old thread that one of the ladies very sadly lost her baby at 19 weeks after going into premature labour. From what I can understand, I believe it took a long time to conceive in the first place, so I cannot imagine what her and her husband must be going through right now. How terrible for them. Count your blessings people.
    Remember Occam's Razor - the simplest explanation is usually the right one. :)

    TopQuark, I've just read that on there, can't believe it. I can't imagine what they are going through, poor little Ben. My thoughts are with them. Really should count my blessings.

    As for me, I just peed myself :( not a lot but enough to notice. Think I need to do more pelvic floor exercises!
  • topquark i read the other thread, how awful :(

    rambosmum as long as it isnt your waters. I need to do my pelvic floor exercises too, maybe i should put a daily reminder on my phone. Seems to be the only way i remember things at the moment!!

    Definitely pee. It happens after I've been to the loo, like my bladder hasn't been fully emptied, though I feel as though it has at the time. Happened a few times in the last 2 weeks but today was definitely the worst.
  • Top tip for the peeing after you have just peed- when on the loo, lean forward as much as you can towards the end or just after. I starting doing this early on and really notice it expels a bit more, even if you think you have got it all.

    Also pee a little when I sneeze. Dread it now, especially at work. Hello tena lady.

    The glamorous life of a pregnant lady eh?!

    Awful news on ben. Cant imagine what they are going through. It does make you appreciate it all the more.

    AFM, nursery is done!!!!! House finally getting back to normal. Looking at some wedding venues on Sunday. Cant wait!

    Ooops forgot to update with everything that has been going on. Rowena Hazel was born 5th October. She is perfect however it was a horrendous back labour with no time for pain relief. 46 minutes in total so can't really complain.

    1 = 24 minutes
    2 = 16 minutes
    3 = 6 minutes

    Think they were surprised by how quick it all happened despite me saying that once I start it will be very quick. One of my longest labours but probably due to the back to back nature.

    Good luck all, hope those who have also had their little ones are enjoying mummy cuddles.

    Hi all,

    So I am 30+3 today and feeling VERY strange about the fact that I will have a baby soon! :eek:

    Lots of lovely wriggly movements and strong elbows/knees/head in the ribs too!

    Had a bit of a time of it being in hospital with the migraines/headaches, and now have to see a consultant so they can decide if I am going to change from midwife led to consultant care :(

    Not particularly loving the not so nice pregnancy ailments (backache, piles :eek:, heartburn) - but I know I've had it relatively easy so can't complain so far.

    Hope everyone well :)

    Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.
  • kittenpie congratulations :) what a short labour!! I'm having a caesarean but if i wasnt id love a labour that quick!!
