    Congratulations Kitten.

Hope you feel better soon hieveryone, migraines are horrid. Luckily I've escaped them so far in pregnancy. Had them regularly before I changed pill so I'm expecting some post pregnancy.

I'm 28 weeks tomorrow. I can hardly believe it. It's starting to go quickly. I'll be packing my hospital bag soon! Got the midwife on Monday and next scan for placental placement in 4 weeks. Whooping cough vaccine next week too, and my flu AND bloods for my thyroid. I'll feel like a pin cushion by the end of the week.

House is coming on nicely. Mainly got the fiddly bits to do, and tiling :( then it's on to upstairs and the nursery. Haven't chosen a colour yet.

As for baby stuff, only got a cot and moses basket mattress to get and I'm done - need to pick up some clothes from my mums to see if I need to buy any but I doubt it, figuring we'll probably get a few as gifts.

    Hope everyone else is ok.
  • Congrats kitten pie! Love the name too. x

How is everyone? hieveryone, hope you remain with the midwife and that if you are consultant led, it doesnlt change any birth plans.

I should be consultant led but havent heard anything at all yet. Just still seeing the midwife. When I see her next week I will ask what being consultant led actually means in my case (high BMI) and what effect this has on birth plans. Woudl love a water birth so am going to tentatively ask about this, although expect that they will refuse, so not getting my hopes up.

Anyone else really hot. OH normally never feels the cold, and its always me who puts the heating on. He has put the heating on in the last couple of days and is always wrapped up in a jumper as apparently its cold, but I am swanning around in strap top most days at home as it is soooo hot!

Making the final list of things to get tonight. Not loads to do, but just a few fiddly bits that I haven't had time to research such as baby monitors. Anyone recommend one. I don't really want an all singing all dancing video/sensor one, just a simple sound one will be fine.

Woke in the night to go to the loo, and baby normally has a kick fest for a bit afterwards once I lay down.....but no kicking for ages (like an hour)...so of course I start to worry. Got a really cold drink and jiggle the belly, and just as I was about to really worry, got a nice big kick and am getting lots of wriggly ones now. Phew! Horrible feeling that I hope is not repeated. Hoping it was because of the anterior placenta and baby's position.

Got my GTT tomorrow, and anti-D on Thursday.

Also need to book the hospital tour. Keep forgetting and time is really ticking away now.

I am sooo tired. Had bloods done at midwife appointment on Monday - might be anaemic. Everything else is fine, heard heartbeat and measuring well. After a very active few days baby has been quite quiet since last night, still felt a few movements but I think they've tired themselves out!

Work are being good, I'm working form home one day a week and taking a day a fortnight in flexi - I'm always in early to beat the traffic so building up flexi isn't difficult.
  • devildolly yep im lovely and warm! Winter babies are handy :) my last two were summer babies, and that's not so pleasant!!

rambosmum hope your blood tests come back ok.

Im really struggling with lack of sleep at the moment, that and working lots of extra days, and having a two year old!!
Still here..... but working on that!

    Hello everyone!

Thought I had better join this thread. Never thought I would make it here, but the reality of becoming a mummy again is getting closer!

Rambosmum - hope you have some more energy soon! I am finding this half term week quite exhausting, although counting down the teaching days until I finish.

The twins seem to be very lively in my tummy, wriggling away, particularly if I eat ice cream! I am so long in the body anyway, that I fear even my maternity t-shirts are going to look like crop tops by the end.

Seeing the consultant for my next scan on bonfire night, so hopefully all will be well still.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Mine like ice cream too pinkshoes!

This time in 7 weeks I'll be at home on my first day of leave before mat leave! And in 14 weeks if I haven't had my baby I'll be being induced. Scary stuff. It dawned on me the other day that I'm actually having to give birth soon - I obviously knew it but hadn't really recognised it!

Had another scan today to check fluid and cord blood flow etc, all looks good. Got another growth scan booked for next week so will see if he's managed to have a little spurt by then!

Our consultant is definitely leaning towards an early delivery, maybe 1 or 2 weeks, but still it all depends on the upcoming growth scan(s). Everything looks healthy and normal though which is reassuring. He is still breech and showing no signs of turning, sonographer said he looks very comfy though and is head isn't getting squashed or anything so I'm still feeling quite relaxed about it.

Work are being fab for me too, I've been having at least half a day off per week (next week will be 2 half days!) with all my appointments but I've had no issues whatsoever.

My last day is 5 weeks on Friday, if all goes well, eeeek!

Rambosmum, I hope you're feeling a bit better soon.
  • snowball when are u due? And glad everything is looking good :)
Still here..... but working on that!
  • Been a total moron this morning. Cats had their flea jab a couple of weeks ago, but have a little outbreak at the mo. Got bitten in bed and that was enough. Got the flea bomb out and set it up in our bedroom (carefully so as to avoid the spray), scarpered and shut the door. Now read that I shouldn't really go in there at all until the room is fully aired. OH is away on a course and might not be back until late tonight, so will have to ask my mum to come over and go in to air the room this afternoon. What a plonker. I blame the baby brain.

Glad the scan went well snowball. Seems like they have a close eye on you which is reassuring.
  • Thank you both. I'm due on the 28th December.

It is reassuring, I think it's just taking some getting used to, I hardly visited the docs or anything before I got pregnant so all these appointments can be a bit overwhelming. Plus when the pregnancy started it was deemed so low-risk, I didn't imagine we'd end up at the hospital at least once a week. Every wriggle & kick make it all worth it though :)

Oh no devildolly I hope your mum can pop over!
