Finally got round to calling the hospital reg 36 week scan, I hadn't been booked in yet but they booked me in for Tuesday 4th March so looking forwards to that. Can feel lots and lots of movement now but will still be nice to see bubba again, although not sure if much can be seen at this later stage.
I'm not in work today, it's my last week and I have been on sick friday and today, think I have a tummy bug as being sick every now and again and also clearing out from the other end too. I'm managing to eat a little but it's not staying long. Called triage who said to rest and have plenty fluids which I have done, OH done some housework this weekend which was a first !!!0 -

Con I really hope you feel better over the next couple of daysat least the one positive of not being well is that your OH has done some housework!! My OH is usually great at everything house wise but he really has outdone himself throughout this pregnancy, he's been so supportive and it's been great.
I'm still off work toogetting a bit bored now, but I do hate where I work at the moment (i feel like I've already switched off for maternity to be honest) so I guess I would rather be home and bored than at work and counting the minutes down until 4pm every day! Just wishing my hips would start to feel better
the doctor has signed me off until 6th march so I've got another two weeks off almost, unless I decide to go back before then.

Oh no Con, hope you feel better soon.
Today is my first official mat leave day after a week of "holiday" That feels really scary! 2 days til due date! Eeeek!
Just thinking about maternity trousers... I gave up on them after a few weeks of searching. I went from a 22 to a 16 before I got pregnant, so generally struggled with sizes anyway. I bought 2 jersey pencil skirts from Matalan for £10 each and tights from mothercare and wore them with nice tops, at first they were ones I already had that were looser, then I moved onto New Look maternity tops. You can always order online at New Look.
These skirts: But they only go down to size 8...

I've been up and down with sickness throughout pregnancy I joke that baby is getting grounded til he/she is 5 for causing me hassle lol :rotfl: I pick up everything that's going I have a terrible immune system so just par for the course I reckon, just happy that baby has remained happy throughout, the MW on the phone said to me don't worry about the baby he/she will be fine as they are basically parasites and will take all your goodness so whilst I might feel terrible baba is happily dancing inside.
I've been feeling the same as you at work, I'm not really happy at work, the people are good but the job I don't enjoy at all. I'm hoping to leave next September and do nursing at uni but will wait and see, going to research it more during my mat leave as it will be a big change going from FT employment to studying... with a baby too.
Hope your hips improve, have you had or been referred for any sort of physio?0 -
I'm not having a baby shower. My sister suggested it and got very excited but I wasn't keen at all. Neither sets of parents get on with each other and I was imagining one mum and nan on one side of the room and the other mum and nan on the other. It's a stress I just don't want. Also I didn't want people to feel obliged to buy gifts. It kind of makes me feel uncomfortable.
My bump is now HUGE!!! All of my in-laws keep telling me that she is going to be a huge 10lb baby!! They are terrifying the living daylights out of me and everytime they say anything I want to punch them! Non of them have taken into account that I am only 4ft11 and there really is no space inside of me for her to grow. She has to grow out! Or at least that is what I am telling myself anyway. I have my 28 weeks midwife appointment later (even if I am 29 weeks) and I am going to ask her about it (again).
Ive put alway all of my maternity jeans and trousers now and am only wearing dresses and leggings. I am finding them much comfier and they put a lot less pressure on my tummy. I have also been and brought a few new tops from mothercare that are a little bit more fitted because I was getting really fed up of feeling like I was wearing a sack (my other tops we not that fitted and very long).
I am also excited to announce that we have now managed to put the nursery furniture together. It's really brought it all home that she is really coming! Still need to buy the bedding but I am so confused about it all. For example bumpers!! They are sold everywhere but they are apparently dangerous?? Also there are quilts are in every bedding set but I am meant to be using a sleeping bag thingy (can't remember their real name). I like the look of a co-ordinated set as it will really add a much needed colour boost to the bedroom. What is everyone else doing in terms of bedding? Any advice is very much welcome. xx0 -
just a question for people that have already handed in their matb1 forms - I'm 23 weeks on Wednesday and have a midwife appointment next Friday (ill be 24+2 then) does anybody know if I'll be able to get my matb1 form there and then or if ill have to wait? work have said they will need it soon (before 25 weeks!) so I'm sort of in a quandry whether to just ask for it next week or ring up? I rang the centre this morning they said I needed a midwife appointment to get a form!0

Zachary Luke was born this morning at 5.11am weighing 9lb10! Bloody hurt!
Will update the details once home and have remembered what happened but managed to avoid induction as was well enough on the way when we got to hospital so was left to do it without interference and luckily progressed well. Had a bleed after the birth and ended up being stitched up for an hour but OH was amazing the whole way through

Vicky I am 27 weeks and huge too. I am also starting to get annoyed with people especially OHs mum who keeps saying 'oh you'd better start watching what you're eating' - as though I'm bloody obese and inhaling everything in sight! When I know full well that my bump and baby are right on track for what they should be (and I've not gotten any bigger anywhere else!) bloody annoying really but hey everyone are always going to have their own opinions you just have to smile and nod.
You're making me very jealous with your nursery furniture. We aren't due to move into our house for another 4 (ish) weeks yet so can't even think about nursery furniture until then, and no idea how we are going to afford such a big expense, as all our money is being pooled into other stuff!! Argh! Ah well we will find a way!
The cot bumper stuff confused me at first too. You're not supposed to use one until baby is 6 months old because before that baby can suffocate on them. So before 6 months don't use any bumpers or quilts or anything. You can buy these things called sleep safe cot wraps which are like bumpers but don't have a suffocation risk (http://www.safedreams.co.uk) which I really want to buy but they are pricey.
We are doing a Winnie the Pooh theme for the nursery, but I didn't really think that through at the time of deciding, as I can't blooming find any reasonably priced WTP nursery furnishings (i.e. Cot linens, nappy stacker) anywhere!
I just know I have to have everything matching though because I'm really OCD like thatso Winnie the Pooh it is, I just need to find the stuff!

Firey I literally went to the reception desk in my doctor surgery and asked for my MATB1 form and they filled it out right there, and told me they would get the doc to sign it overnight and I could pick it up the next day. I was 20 weeks at that point.
It's not really well advertised about how you get your MATB1 for some reason, I only went into the docs to ask how to get mine but luckily they are the ones who do them. It can be signed by either your midwife or a doctor so you certainly don't need an appointment for your doc to sign it - the surgery should take care of that for you!!Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

Congrats Birdie! Lovely name and what a weight!
FireyFirenze I would just ask for it in your appointment - I just got given mine, the midwife completed one side and said to get it stamped at the practice reception so I'm sure they should have some available************************************
