  • Hi all,

Could not post from long but was reading regularly. Parents have arrived here two weeks back and being busy with them. Really glad they are here now.

This Friday will be my last working day and so looking forward to it now. 37 weeks today and very happy to have reached full term.

Congrats to view, northern and freebie for the arrival of their babies. Congrats to anyone else whom I have missed.

Can't wait to meet my little princess now getting excited as days coming near.

  • Well after my growth scan baby is about 7 1/2lb and breach I also have to much fluid .... I have had a toxic screen and have to have another diabetes test on Saturday to see if that has caused it and then back up on Tuesday for another scan if nothing has changed then they will prob book me for a c section the following week. I then spent the evening googling it and scaring the living daylights out of myself ! Have given up work a week early as they told me to rest I'm 36 weeks today. I see Tia86 you got the same. I just want him here now.

Congrats to everyone who's little ones have arrived x
If you can’t look on the bright side,
I will sit with you in the dark

Well everyone I have not posted this week because of my tablet, but because my little boy arrived on Sunday at 36+2. Got out of hospital yesterday and am already shattered but love my little boy so much. Sorry to queue jump, will update list when I get onto my laptop.

P.S as much as I wanted my baby to be born, I do wish he had held on a bit longer as it has been difficult, so be careful what you wish for! X

Congrats on the babies! Don't apol for queue jumping Tia, the baby will come when the baby will come :j hope you're doing ok, sound like a few challenges x

I think we should start a thread on Babies, first few weeks/months. Jeez it's challenging. Sleep oh ha ha ha what is that! We've had hunger strikes, visit to children's hospital, non sleeping in Moses basket, purple faced screaming, explosive nappies, poo on the carpet etc etc and it's only been 11 days ROFL we def need a support club to get us thru the first stage.

Not complaining tho as we love our girl, as I'm sure you all love your babbas too however why didn't someone warn me I would actually have to look after a wee life form after pregnancy finished?! Ha ...

All I can say ladies is you're doing grand. Keep reminding yourself of that. Breastfeeding can be the hardest thing in the world. We were advised to stop BF by a MW for a while as it was causing meltdown screaming matches all thru the day and night. I don't feel guilty, I can express a bit plus we're topping up with formula however just in case anyone else is finding it hard... You're definitely not alone!! Do what is right for you and your child. NCT offer a free phone chat service - use it, they offer great advice and even if it's just for pure venting, it's worth its weight in gold.

Keep smiling. You and your OH may snap or grumble at each other, it's normal, sleep deprivation is a form of torture! Remember to still smile and laugh once in a while. Eat well and often.

Just a few musings from a worn out but getting there new mum :-)
  • Aww so many new babies, so exciting. Congratulations. I seem to look back with slightly rose tinted glasses but view I think you have summed it up well. Also I struggled with bf and used nipple shields for a little while, ugly but got me through the hard bit and I bf for almost a year.

Too old must be really stressful. You can't help but worry. I had a friend who had something similar and when she posted on fb lots of people had the same thing and they all had healthy babies. Probably doesn't help you feel any better but baby will be full term if they do the cs and is already a good size. Good luck xx.

Enjoy the maternity leave time and love. I have to say I have been busy and not had much time to relax :)

My baby is currently back to back so seeing my consultant next week. He wants to avoid episiotomy and tears due to my other complications so we need to discuss options. I haven't heard of any good stories of b2b deliveries, mind you woman only seem to share their bad experiences.

I am very hungry so going to get up and eat. Been invited out for Sunday lunch so no need to cook :) have a nice Sunday ladies x
  • Mr knight my first was back to back and not too bad really, I was in established labour for four hours had gas and air and a water birth. Did end up with some tearing but they said I probably would even if he was the right way around as he had big shoulders and was 8 13.

Congratulations to all those with new babies, I hope your getting some nice snuggles in between all the hard work. From what I remember the first three weeks are the hardest and then it gets a little better.

Well our baby boy arrived today. Unfortunatley it was by cs as I had too many complications to risk a natural birth. He is currently in special care but he should be with me tomorrow. I have been able to feed him and have a couple of cuddles.

Huge congrats! I hope you're doing ok and taking time to recover. Glad you've been able to feed him and have some all important cuddles. Well done you, it's an ordeal. Congrats again and all the best for your healing and your wee one xx
  • Congratulations ladies on your babies...... What lovely news- looking forward to hearing names when/if you are ready to share

Tia86 you have scared me a bit as you were due a few days before me and I'm hoping my little bub can hold on until after xmas day. I guess the little one will come when they are ready.

Mr_knight, glad you have had cuddles and managed a feed- hope baby is back with you soon.

2nd week of maternity for me, picked up my travel system today.
I'm shattered most of the time and sleep is difficult. As soon as I lay down I struggle to breathe. My poor boyf has to listen to me snoring all night :(

I have an exam on Monday- but I'm so far behind on study. I'm going to have to knuckle down.

Hope everyone is doing well and are sorted for xmas
