  • Lemontree and t2d - so lovely to hear from you! Glad to hear all is going well. :rotfl:your comments about waking sleeping babies reminds me of making sure they are still moving in pg - I figured the worry never stopped!

:santa2: shorty for your wee little Christmas present :D Welcome my lovely.

:hello: freshstart - our first 2015 baby!

Trying to see if I can be bothered to join fb as life as a mummy seems to be easier with it. Sigh.

Thanks ladies for the kind words of support re my lil' hospital trip. I literally smile when I think about all my friends in the past becoming pregnant and me sitting there thinking, you just 'get' pg, have one or two scans, have the wee one and t'da that's it... little did I know the freak out moments along the way! :o:D

lemontree that's brilliant! you never know, you could end up with a very good sleeper there :-)

shorty1978 a very big welcome to you :j
MrsC I agree with lilmiss big deserved rest for you there me thinks. Lilmiss sounds nice the wandering around JL.. my fave thing to do (not my bank accounts tho!). Hope all goes well with roofer case... we almost got into one earlier this year with an extremely shoddy roofer.... at the time I was so sick I just put it into the too hard basket and had to hire a new one to un-do the work and re-do at double the cost of course... all the best to you

ali hope things settle down for you blood sugar wise and that when the wee one is here life returns to normal for you. I hope also that you're able to feel less stressed, although I admit I would probably feel the same as you and was stressing out at even the test. Faith in the experts being able to offer you good advice and make sure you take all your questions to them, that's what they're here to do. Big hug x

Can't offer any advice on flu jab I'm afraid, never had it. I was told that you were only offere this if you were pg during winter period or leading up to. However, also told that you can request it regardless. I did have the whooping cough vaccine however as I think this is just so important, also agree with Mrs_T_M there are other benefits having the WC jag due to the other vaccines that exist in the fluid. I can say that (to me) the WC jag didn't hurt a bit and I didn't feel any soreness on the arm or in myself.

LailaP not long for you now at all! I would be excited and nervous being 1st on list... I'm getting fed up (what a sooky la la!) at only being 32 weeks so I think I'll be the moaniest groaniest chick alive when I'm 1st!

To everyone else hope you're all doing well - big hugs
  • Well this morning I've been on the phone to hr (found out my hr partner is pregnant too!) and confirmed that I'm now on maternity leave as opposed to sick leave so when I went to doc today I didn't need another line. Spoke to doc about using canestan for thrush and he says it's absolutely fine. He advises against the pessary as it can induce labour....I asked where to get some! Lol. He's happy with my progress and agrees that bring off work was far better for me than anti depressants as I am a million times better.
Also said to him that hopefully next time he sees me will be after baby is here and I'm back to put a permanent stop to me getting pregnant again. This is a decision I've not taken lightly and been thinking over for the last few months and he's happy to support me in sterilisation and he's going to make the referral in any case. He says that in the event that I need a section they can do it at the same time. That would be ideal for me and I'm going to discuss it when I'm in at the consultant next Monday.
Scary thought but it would be the right decision for me as I'm definitely never going through this again!

  • Shorty1978 welcome and exciting for entering the last trimester.

Mrs C glad that you managed a lazy day yesterday. Quite an interesting appointment you must have had with your doctor and definitely a great doctor if he's aware of the difference just being off work has made to you.

View thanks for the words. I know what you mean, my sister's had 3 kids, another friend's had 3 now pregnant with her 4th and a few other people just seemed to sail through but obviously all the bits in between aren't spoken about. Guess we'll never stop worrying lol.

lilmiss hope everything went well for you today with your small claims.

AFM saw the midwife this morning and she's happy with all my measurements and even mentioned that I seemed a lot better in myself than last time. I did say it's my first day off work and she said it definitely showed as the worry and stress that was there last time had disappeared :rotfl:. Next appointment is at home in two weeks, at least I've got two weeks to get the house presentable maybe :o.

I've also spoken to the diabetes midwife this morning as arranged. My reading improved this morning but that was having a pot of yoghurt. She's not happy that I'm eating so little yet still getting high readings so is recommending that I commence on Insulin as she's worried that Metformin won't have long enough to make any difference. Due to the CMT rather than just prescribe it I'm meeting up in the diabetic clinic tomorrow so that it can all be discussed. To be honest I feel a bit of a failure which is stupid as it's my body causing the problems and it's not something that I can control. Guess this means I'll be induced earlier now so better pull my finger out and get sorting.

Sorry bit of a pity post but I know you ladies will understand.

  • Awww thanks for the lovely welcome ladies

    freshstart11- 4th January is my birthday - a special day ;)

Just worked out I only have 9 more Monday's at work. I think my work is starting to advertise for my replacement. I have mixed feelings about it. Although I'm not overly fond of my job- I'm not sure I want someone else to have it either!!

    Hugs to alioops78

lilmissreading- I try to avoid fb myself but I understand that it can be helpful at times.

Hoping everyone else is having a good Monday

Welcome Shorty, hope you have a smooth 3rd trimester!

Ali - hugs to you, of course we understand. Good you are not at work so can focus on yourself and baby. You are not a failure, don't ever say that. Things happen that are out of our control and our bodies do funny things during pregnancy. You wouldn't think anyone else was a failure, so don't think it of yourself!

MrsC - yay for a lazy day! Big decision re sterilisation, but if you know its right for you, then its great your dr is supportive. So pleased that you are feeling better in yourself, stress is not good for you or baby.

lilmiss - I'm on fb, but not sure about joining the fb group as I think i'm quite happy being anonymous and joining the fb group means you lose that.

View - so pleased your wee one was ok even if baby did give you a fright.

I was saying to DH last night that I feel such a sense of responsibility over baby and movement. During the week at work, I feel baby move lots, probably because I'm sitting down. But at weekends I'm moving about lots, so baby is quieter (or I don't notice the movements so much). But what if that's not the case and there is something wrong and I've missed it? And I'm the only one that can say what 'normal' is like for baby, it just feels like such a weight to have. I'll be glad when baby is born and I can share the responsibility with DH and others. Does this make sense or am I just over thinking?!

Hi T2D and LT, how is life with a wee one, everything you hoped for?

Apart from worrying, I'm doing ok. Nursery finished apart from curtains and have most things in for baby now. Just need to pack hospital bag for labour/birth and then baby's bag. DH is off this week and is planning to finish decorating the hall, I will be so pleased when that is done!

    Hugs everyone! xx
  • Ali and SewIt. I've got a great doctor, was just telling DH how I'm far more comfortable seeing the one I go to rather than the others in the surgery. It is only a small practice so most get to know you quite well and my doc actually listens to you. Maybe why he's always running late! 4 weeks ago I sat and cried at him and couldn't look at him, today we were chatting and laughing and even talking about dogs having sections!!!!!

Ali, it's amazing the difference that being off work can make with the stress being lifted. Hope it all works well for u. I also hope things work out with the diabetes things and you get sorted ok.

Re the fb group. It seems that most if the ladies on it now gave had babies but theyre still there for advice which is great. Although it is real names I feel that as it is a much group and not open to the general public (It's a secret group) then everyone is much more open. Some things (thrush and sterilisation) I haven't mentioned there but others wouldn't bat an eyelid! I always worry that some people on here could work out who I am whereas on the group if I find someone I know has joined it I can pick and choose what to post!

Welcome Shorty, I've heard tonic water can work?

Mrs C it's good that your GP is being supportive of you wishes...also now very tempted by a canestan pessary despite not having thrush :rotfl:

alioops Sorry to hear about you reading, don't feel like a failure, these things can't be helped. Sending hugs xx

It's my birthday tomorrow so I have told the baby she can come then as a nice present for mummy!
  • Morning. Think my body has given up lol. Caught my lo's bug and feel a bit pants. Been awake most of the night and couldn't physically face work. Lazy day I think.

Mrs c I had horrendous thrush and was prescribed a three night course of pessaries. Dr said just to be gentle with the applicator but it was fine to use. Funny how different drs say different things. Maybe it's because you are further on than me. Sounds like you have a nice dr anyway especially with such a big decision.

Ali our hormones do daft things to us. Hope they get you BSL sorted soon for you.
