Hello!
Just popping over from the under 12 weeks group to ask a couple of questions.... (I'm currently 10+6)
(1) has anyone had a uterine growth detected on a scan? I have one that's 9x9x9cm and is "blocking the baby's exit" (I had scan this morning)!! Baby looks fine though! I have an apt with consultant obstetrician in 2 weeks to discuss options/plan of action. Which I guess will either be remove soon-ish or wait and have extra monitoring throughout pregnancy and prob a c-section. (Will prob also depend on type of growth - I had a blood test to help determine this)
(2) what are people's thoughts generally on full-length NCT course vs the shorter free one? (Asking here because I'm guessing several people would have actually attended some!)
Thank you!!!Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock0 -
Mr Knight and Shorty hope you feel better soon.
lilmissreading Enjoy your baby cuddles!
View I have mental dreams since being pregnant, I tell DH about them and he just looks at me like I am a complete freak :rotfl:
Wow MrsC, I hadn't realised what a tough time you have had. You are a very strong woman to have got through all that.
Thank you ladies for the birthday wishes. No sign of her yet but I have had a nice day anyway. I slept in until 10:45 and then my MIL took me out for lunch. I am just relaxing now and making the most of the quiet time.0 -

Haha lilmissreading - I think I might put that in mine!!! I have this feeling that I will feel utterly useless until the baby comes. I can't wait for leave to start but am anxious about it all in one go- typical.
Started to feel queasy in the mornings the last few days- I have been very fortunate that I haven't had much sickness, even in the early days. I wonder if it's coming to get me now.
OH has a cold so i'm hoping I don't get that either, although a few days off of work would be very welcome. I feel like I could sleep for a week.
Sorry yes, I second the tonic water. Lazy Daisy suggests having your OH use a nice moisturiser to do some lymphatic drainage. You use your hands to stroke your outstretched legs up from the ankle to the thigh (I had a quick look on youtube but couldn't see what I meant). Also to jiggle your legs when that's done. Calf stretches can help. Also to use two hands to shake your thighs from side to side. Not sure if there is evidence the lymphatic drainage would necessarily help but I believe it does. The worst that happens is you get a nice leg massage!
Also my nausea was always strongly associated with fatigue and there's no doubt I got steadily more tired in the 3rd trimester without realising it. Plus the lack of space with baby taking up more room. Plus indigestion. Plus low blood sugar - if it always on the morning see if you can get hold of ginger flapjacks. I find these psychologically and physically work for me. I believe the ginger might work on both levels and if you make them yourself with proper oats they are lower GI and the slow release can do you a world of good.
Good luck!Met DH to be 2010

Morning gals
Had a very strange dream last night... had the baby and recall thinkin in the dream that's odd, I don't remember feeling a thing GREAT!
The baby wouldn't feed properly... then started talking on the second day (she told me she liked Metallica ha!) ... then grew up into a little girl on the third day and by the fourth a young teenager who had left home!! Very bizarre and quite unsettling however obs all ok once I woke up. This was all happening whilst I was getting married in a large hotel somewhere with a random rushing up and walking me down the aisle in a garden....
best to stay off the hard stuff eh... no more hot milk for me before beddies! :rotfl:
does anyone else have strange dreams?
I remember more crazy dreams in the first trimester although I did start moaning in my sleep this week. When DH woke me to make sure I wasn't in labour it turned out I was dreaming I was in labour! I wouldn't have remembered this if he hadn't woke me because i was making a noise
So far DH has dreamt he directed a bus driver by accident to run over his own father; that his grandmother didn't really die years ago and was coming to meet the baby; that he was pg; that he gave birth.Met DH to be 2010

Thanks ladies, it has been a tough time and would have broken some couples that are not as strong as we are. There are a lot of things that have put our relationship to the test and this was just the latest (well apart from us having different beliefs in the referendum!). We are strong and we will survive much to some peoples disgust and we will get through it all.
Lilmiss, I'm back to the strange dreams again too, probably for about the last 10 weeks. Mine have all been quite traumatic really, could do with a fun one to lighten them up a bit!No longer ...tobe! Married 20/06/13MFW 2021 #117 £5415.40/£6000MFW 2022 #77 £3740/£3000MFW 2023 #82 £0/£30000 -
MrsC - thanks for the reply.
Jeez - I found the first trimester quite hard enough thank you without all that emotional upheaval (not to mention i think there have been plenty of dramas with his kids this year too?) I'm sorry you have had to go through all that and come out with a decision it sounds like you were certain about to begin with it. Glad you are on a path to getting what you need
Not wishing to sounds like a cliche it really is hard to be a woman. Thanks to the pill I have avoided so many hormonal miseries, so having them now has NOT been pleasant. Makes sense if all this contributed to feeling depressed - pg is hard enough when it's a smooth journey and wanted for event.
I think the bonding thing is a worry no matter what your circumstances? Get why it is more of a worry for you. Also I think there are a lot of dangerous stories about instant and easy bonding and those who need to work at their relationship are often to ashamed to saywhich i assume makes it harder. We don't expect any other relationship to happen with no work. Not to say that it can't but also that it's ok if it takes work too.
I do a bit of lurking as I have a friend in the ttc+12 month category and read the thread on here to try and understand a teeny tiny bit of what she might going through so I don't make it worse. On a lighter note you are the exact opposite of this video I imagine.
Hope it doesn't offend!

Sorry no answers to 1) I am afraid. Just don't forget to write down any questions and record or write down any discussion in your appointment. Amazing how much can get forgotten.
2) I paid for a 19 hour NCT class to make mummy friends. Not had to use her yet but in particular found the breast feeding mentor, plus her willingness to be contacted post birth and go to her childminding job and feed so she can try to advise on problems very helpful. There was lots of useful information and we have a whats app group going already which was my main motivation.
We have been to a 6 hour Sunday hospital birth skills class. This was NHS and free. The main advantage is DH and I remember nothing the first time we are told so repetition helps, plus we got to tour the mw led unit. We have a free breast feeding class next Tuesday. I will not make any friends through this but like to have NHS info and contact details also.
I also do a class called lazy daisy just for me. Feel free to google if you find it interesting. Kind of breathing/hypnobirthing/relaxation style approach. We have the one to one couple class tonight so will feed back on that too.Met DH to be 2010

Oh, I was going to ask whether being tested in the fire ultimately made you feel the relationship was stronger but wasn't sure if that was an odd thing to say.Met DH to be 2010
