Congrats bluebell - hope you got a home birth?

freebiequeenie - I had no idea you got to practise disturbed sleep before the baby arrived. Lucky me I have a day off so going to nap later as DH woke us up at 5.30am in addition to the usual loo trips.

Was it me or was it hot last night? Never sure what's pg and what's normal these days.

Right lots of jobs on the list today, starting with hanging the washing out while wearing my dressing gown :D start as I meant to go on!

  • Freebiequeenie, I've taken to forcing down Gaviscon before I go to bed as it's always worse at nighttime. I'm up to about 4 spoons of it now. Saves me and DH getting completely disturbed sleep and me having to hunt down the gaviscon during the night.

Lilmiss, your reaction at the list always makes me smile!

AFM, tmi alert....quite convinced I'm losing bits of my plug at a time, thought so the other day but nothing for a couple of days, then last night during the night there was a fair bit more. I'm nowhere near ready and neithers baby, still sitting very high so hopefully it's just bits and it's regenerating as I've heard others say it can. 35 weeks today and I want my ribs back!

Ssssh, am in ostrich mode...might even start saying the 'l' word.

I tell my bump regualrly that mummy wants a week of mat leave before he turns up plus he needs to finish cooking. This illusion of control helps me. Everything crossed it's just a warning shot, not anything actual happening.

On a tmi note myself keep getting an upset tummy iykwim once a week. Always seems to happen during the end of the working week so not sure if it is a stress reaction. At first i thought it was some hideous early birth sign but been happening since 22nd august so fortunately assume not!

  • Not come across that one lilmiss, hopefully it passes so to speak when you finish work. I'm on my 3rd week of being signed off and they will automatically start my mat leave at 36weeks so baby can make an appearance any time after that. Just whenever it likes. No hurry and all that jazz but I want as much time as possible with it before I go back next year after a couple of months of smp only.

Just updating quickly but if someone else could update the list please, it is a pain to do it from iPad.

Waters went last week at 35+6, while husband was away on business in the US. He made it back in plenty of time because it took 48 hours for her to come. So - Alice Clara was born at 06.36 on Friday 5th September, weighing 5lbs 9oz.

It was a traumatic birth and things went a bit wrong at the end, but I will write a proper birth story in the other thread at some point. We had to stay in hospital until last night as she needed IV antibiotics and then light treatment for jaundice, and I had lost a lot of blood and was not very well.

She is absolutely gorgeous and I love her to pieces but am mentally/emotionally struggling with the sudden adjustment. Was convinced I would go overdue and it is hard getting my head around the fact that she is here, when I should be turning 37 weeks tomorrow. We are having feeding issues for a few reasons and it is very frustrating and upsetting.

But gazing at her beautiful face makes it all feel very worth it! :)

Huge congrats daisiegg. So glad your husband managed to make it back in time. Sounds like you've been through quite a time however really pleased for you that you and the wee one are safe. Hoping you feel stronger over the next few days/weeks however that you also have all the help you need plus breastfeeding support. xx

  • Wow, I'm 13th. For ages I was last or second last on the list and now I'm creeping up.

Tink seems to be missing? I know she's due the day after me on 25 November but perhaps she never added herself in.

I'm 29+3 and so ready for maternity leave but have ages to go yet :( My back problems are getting worse and worse and the new joy is what I think is sciatica down the left hand side which is so bad I can barely walk and can't sit on a hard chair. I'm going to a baby shower tonight for a friend and don't know how I'm going to sit down!! Luckily I can work from home if I need to and I'm currently on the laptop in bed all propped up by many pillows of various types but am contemplating going downstairs for some lunch and trying to gear myself up for it.

I was wondering about tinkwings the other day. She's not posted for ages. hope all is well.

Angeltreats that is just when I started feeling ready for mat leave! I am now 35+3 and just got 3 days left next week. I'm really sorry to hear about your pain. Have you seen a physio? Not very MSE but even if you could even try to find someone who can give a one off private consultation on stretches? I am off to antenatal hydrotherapy today - it is in an NHS facility but I pay privately. I block book so it is £5/half hour session. Really helps me stretch properly in the water plus I love the relaxation side. Maybe your local hospital might do something?

freebiequeenie we are SO keen on dressing our little one up for Christmas. I am determined to find a christmas pudding/father christmas something outfit. As he will be born in October we thought a picture of this with some of us as a family would make great joint birth announcements and christmas cards :D
