  • Evening ladies, hope everyone is doing OK.

I've not completely caught up yet so welcome to any new ladies and congratulations on any births I've missed.

OMG I am number 3 on the list

Still nothing exciting happening here, I am beginning to wonder if the show I had was actually a show even though the MW reckoned it was because it's been nearly 2 weeks since then! I am constantly symptom spotting!

Just updating quickly but if someone else could update the list please, it is a pain to do it from iPad.

Waters went last week at 35+6, while husband was away on business in the US. He made it back in plenty of time because it took 48 hours for her to come. So - Alice Clara was born at 06.36 on Friday 5th September, weighing 5lbs 9oz.

It was a traumatic birth and things went a bit wrong at the end, but I will write a proper birth story in the other thread at some point. We had to stay in hospital until last night as she needed IV antibiotics and then light treatment for jaundice, and I had lost a lot of blood and was not very well.

She is absolutely gorgeous and I love her to pieces but am mentally/emotionally struggling with the sudden adjustment. Was convinced I would go overdue and it is hard getting my head around the fact that she is here, when I should be turning 37 weeks tomorrow. We are having feeding issues for a few reasons and it is very frustrating and upsetting.

But gazing at her beautiful face makes it all feel very worth it! :)

:T congrats daisiegg! Blimey 48 hours but glad it gave dh time to get to you. Sorry to hear about the trauma. Imagine it's an adjustment howver it happens but can totally understand how the early arrival makes it harder. Hope you have support for the feeding issues and aren't struggling alone?

So glad she makes it all worth it :D

    Congrats to the others

  • Hi SewIt, yes I know from the fb group that they've had but don't want to update with any of the details on there without getting their go ahead to do so.

Lemon Tree, scary biscuits for all of us think, this is the first time I've officially been top ten on the list and although birth scares me witless already I'm getting even worse with the thought of it!

Think I've just experienced my first lot of Brixton hicks just when I got home there, some thoroughly unpleasant tightenings going on. We've just been and picked a carpet for babies bedroom as it was too hot this afternoon to paper it. DH just called a carpet fitter he knows and it's getting laid next Wednesday so papering is a must before then! Our bedroom is getting done same day, not sure where we're going to put all the furniture out of both rooms when that's getting done! No long lie for me that day!

:rotfl: is that really 'scary biscuits'?

Yes it is funny that there haven't been many Christmas presents or New Year resolutions on the MSE thread  Lots of summer lovin on its way though...

I am now ignoring the list. Far too significant.

    alice

I'm sure there was something else. Damn baby brain.

Off for rest of this week. Just 3 days next week...:T

Thank you all for making me feel so welcome :)
  • Just lurking to say huge congrats to Daisy (wedding buddy!), sounds like it was all a bit of a surprise but she obviously couldn't wait to meet you! Glad H made it back on time.

It's no wonder you're feeling a bit overwhelmed by it all. Hope your're enjoying cuddles with Alice and hope the feeding issues resolve themself for you. We never got the hang of BF but if you're struggling then try to get as much help as possible while you're still in hospital. Congratulations again xx
  • Daisie, yay will add the details!
