Ooh around the same time as me! How exciting! 5.5lbs isn;t too small - my DD was 6lbs 3oz, so your baby should be fine whenever it comes. Are you having another appointment to decide or are you waiting for them ot give you a date?

  • Lemon- pain is pain! I use tiger balm on my lower back and find it works a treat along with paracetamol! Can't put it where hip hurts though as may end up with a terrible burning sensation! :o

Disney, thanks for the little tips. I'm going to a parenting class tomorrow with my midwives so I'll ask them if there's anything they can do. If it gets any worse there's zero chance i'll be getting to work this week, have to physically lift left leg up to shower/ cross legs/ go upstairs!. Last time I saw mw (nearly 2 weeks ago now) she said the list for physio was so long that I would prob give birth before being seen and all they'd do would be give me a large tubigrip for support. I'd try anything right now! :)

Robots hope your counselling helps you come to terms with your birth experience and so glad to hear baby is worth it all. xx
  • Btw, ladies struggling with the hideous heat- mint shower gel.... Ahhhh, the glorious cooling relief! The original source one is fab- I whacked it on my hair as well today. Maybe not for your bits though.... :o
  • Congratulations Robots - all the best babies are born on the 10th July ;)

Sorry the birth was difficult and traumatic, hope you are recovering well and continue to do so!
  • Well I had my growth scan and growth is completely normal however there is a problem with the blood flow through the cord so they think its a sign the placenta is getting old. Got to have another scan next week and if no change they will induce me at 37 weeks. Baby healthy weight and still moving ok. Add to this my pelvic pain (which the physio did wonders on) has come back, in fact so bad I actually cried last night.

Hugs Disney hope everything turns out OK for you.

silly question no doubt - we had our crib mattress delivered today, and I've put a fitted sheet on it, and the bloomin thing keeps popping up in the middle. Is this usual until the sheets have had a bit of use and the elastic gets used to being stretched? told you it's a silly question. :)

Yep that's normal, will go down after baby has been lying on it for a while. We're using cotton pillowcases so no such problem - we got the idea when our little princess threw up all over her crib in hospital and we realised that was what they were using in the crib!

Hi ladies, Next sale has started to today and they have loads of mat stuff available. You can only get it online though I think.

Disney - glad scan shows baby is ok. Exciting to think you could have your baby next weekend!

I'm another one suffering with hip pain but I did actually have an operation last year on my hip due to my condition. I went to my doctors and asked him to refer me to the neurological physio as the hospital physio's don't understand what I can and can't do and just think I'm taking it easy if I say I can't do something. Anyway I got my referral through so rang up the booking line and they said that I had a referral to the neurology department and a referral to the normal physio's. Raced down to my doctors surgery before they closed to check it out as it wasn't what I asked for and turns out the the neurology dept decided that I didn't need to see them and that I should see the normal physio's so I've just told my surgery to cancel the referral as it's pointless.

I'd had a really bad day at work and this was the last straw really so on the way home I ended up crying stupid hormones lol.

I just don't see the point of being under a long term neurological clinic if I can't access the services when I need to grrrr the NHS high ups make my blood boil sometimes. Anyway I'm seeing the midwife on Monday so will ask her if she can suggest anything at all other than normal physio as that isn't going to help me.

Sorry for the rant ladies but I'm at the point where my hips are popping in my joints and it's getting harder to sleep on my left hand side as that's the worst one.

Hope everyone kept awake by the storms last night is able to have a nap today, I'm off to get my hair cut in an hour or so and a 30th birthday party tonight.

Congratulations Robots :j:j Sorry to hear the delivery was difficult and hoping the recovery is going well. x

Skintchick Hope you are OK after your crash x

Disney_Pluto, TCOD and alioops78 Sorry to hear about the pain, hope you all feel better soon x

I'm struggling with the heat as I am sure we all are. I've got a hot water bottle in the fridge for tonight, I've heard that works wonders on your feet.

Ordered the nursery furniture today so that was very exciting. Hopefully we will have the new house to put it in. We didn't exchange contracts this week as promised but we are hoping for Monday and then to move on Friday so it appears things are going head albeit at very short notice between exchange and completion

Sorry about the messing around alioops. It can be so frustrating when you KNOW what you need but can't get through the red tape... Good luck.

Laila really hope your exchange goes through. Moving house is hard work but exciting!

AFM I've just made pancakes and enjoying them in the garden. Heating up here but I walked to my local market and it felt lovely out. Hopefully the top temperatures stay down a bit!
