So they said they would call in the morning if I failed, and it's 3.30pm. So, I think I'm OK. Yay!

    great news t2d :)

cmace of course you're not mental! I've just sorted by the months that are on the lable, not all give you the lb's so figure it's the best way at the moment.

Cmace I'm just going to sort by what's on the label too as you never how the baby is actually going to in size ie long and wiry or short and chubby IYKWIM even I'm not sure :rotfl:

T2D I would definitely take it as you're in clear so another yay from me.

Sewit my official maternity leave date is the 20 October but I have 4 weeks A/L to take so am taking it all at once. I know I could carry some over but I want out of here as soon as possible.

I've actually not bothered to dye my hair during pregnancy but I've also not had it cut since the 23 December as I haven't been bothered but I'm going to get it cut on Saturday as it's just annoying me. I'm really wanting to get purple through my hair but know that it'll probably need a lot more chemicals than just a dye on it so will just have to wait until next year. Also luckily my grey hairs aren't that visible so have gotten away with it.

Ice pops (icy poles T2D) or ice cream to everyone trying to keep cool. One trick if you have a fan is to have a spray bottle of cool water and spray it into the fan send a lovely fresh wave of air over you, also having a cool shower before bed, don't dry off just lay on the bed with the fan blowing onto you.

    Great news T2D.

cmace, we did the same thing with DS about baby clothes and will need to do the same this time too. We just had 3 piles, small, med and large looking through the newborn and 0-3 sizes. Despite that, I think the only one that actually fitted him properly at birth was a sleepsuit from Primark! Didn't matter though that other bits were a little too large :)

DS has given me his cold so had a bit of a hard day, but I managed to get a fair bit done at work today. Looking forwards to another 3 day weekend starting tomorrow!

Maybe a chocolate paddle pop Alioops?! Although I used to love the plain lemonade icy poles. We always got an ice-cream of our choice when mum stopped at the petrol station, a habit I can't seem to break!

Not sure I am quite at the stage of lying in bed wet with a fan. I did that when it was 45degrees in Sydney one new years day I remember. I'll definitely have a cold shower before bed though.

Skintchick ... sorry I've popped over from the earlier thread :-) ... I see you having your hair done .. do you know which trimesters its safe in ?? I know its a random question but I've had so much conflicting advice x thanks in advance x

I see you've had asnwers already but I was going to say it's considered safe now, and I've had highlights three times in this pregnancy, once in each trimester.
skintchick hope you're ok after the car incident, were you in the car at the time?

Yes I was in the car :( I was driving to fetch DD from school and going past a parked car parked on the other side of the road ie my right of way when someone coming way too fast the other way couldn;t stop for the parked car so tried to sqeeze between it and me - and crashed into my wing mirror, smashing it. Luckily it didn;t scrape the car side but I had to replace the mirror and I was very shaken up and cried. I stopped in case they came back but they just sped off up the road.

No news from me today except bump has dropped dramatically! Lots of BH still, loose bowels, aches in tops of thighs, all signs v promising basically.

I can;t remember if I said, but at my Hb booking at 36 weeks I said I didn;t really want to have baby's HB monitored every 15 minutes as suggested, as it sounded a lot and I felt it would be intrusive. Also, last time I became very touch-averse and didn;t want anyone touching me unnecessarily.

My MW has called and said that she and a supervisor of midwives want to come and see me at home on Monday to discuss this.
I'm 38 weeks now. I don;t remember being monitored every 15 mins last time.

I feel I'm going to get bullied at this meeting and am not looking forward to it. I'm sure I wasn;t monitored that much last time but can;t really remember. Can anyone else?

Oh and we sorted clothes by comparing them visually and sorting by actual size. DD started in tiny baby size as she was so small.

Twin poles or a Cola Freezer for me as a kid if not them then a slushee from the Deli oh and can't forget the poor mans Magnum of a Choc Wedge ahhh good times :rotfl:

At the moment I'm having at least one ice cream a day but it helps to cool me down so worth it.

Only a ceiling fan above the bed at my place so after spraying for mosquito's it was a quick spray in the shower and onto the bed, funnily enough I always woke up with a cover on me whether it was the flat sheet or the doona. I miss the 25 degree nights.

Sorry for the Aussie hijack ladies - keep cool though xxx

  • Hello ladies, I'm just taking 2 minutes with both hands free (Woop!) to let you know the good news you'd either guessed or seen on fb.

I'm so sorry I haven't been in touch here b4 now, I just haven't found time! (I've had more to deal with after than hoped). Our baby girl, 7lb 13oz, arrived 22:50pm Thursday the 10th July. Her name is Elizabeth Gladys. It was a long labour & difficult birth but she's worth it :)

So she's a week old! I was in hospital 5 days, and will be having counselling about the delivery. But she was worth it :)

Orange also cut off my bb so that hasn't helped me post.

I hope all are well? I'll read back now.
