    Debt-free and Proud!
Sorry for no personals - our internet is down and I'm using OH's phone.

i saw the GP today. He is new and obviously not used to doing pregnant ladies as he was far too gentle and struggled ti find the HB!

I'm 38 weeks, and he says baby is engaged but was vague about how much so, eventually he decided 2/5 so that's 3/5 palpable. And i have raised leucozytes (sp?) and may have a UTI so my urine has been sent off to be culutred.

Also had call from MW who wants to come and see me at home with the supervisor of midwives to discuss the fact I don;t want to be monitored every 15 minutes during labour. *sigh* I know they have to cover themslves but it feels heavy handed.

Yesterday some ba.st.ard drove into my car and damaged my wing mirro, then drove off, which really shook me up and of course has cost money to sort out.

On a positive, I had my brow and lash tint today and have my highlights and cut tomorrow.

Oh yeah, and the MW agrees with me that baby will probably come next week! Loads of Braxton Hicks, baby engaging, legs suddenly swollena and bowels emptying regularly. Hope it hangs on till DD's birthday is over!!

  • Hello ladies - I hope you don't mind me popping back I just wanted to see who had given birth and who was still waiting!

I've also accepted that if GTT is bad then it's not the end of the world. I am reassured by ladies losing weight on the diabetic diet which i need to do anyway. So a silver lining. Having to stick to a diet wouldn't be a bad thing.

In some ways getting GD was a blessing in disguise for me as it forced me to eat healthily, so I did lose weight, and now I know I can lose weight by myself I feel inspired to continue the healthy eating (although I won't deny myself the occasioanl treat).
Also, my little girl was born perfectly healthy and an average weight so it doesn't always mean you'll have a whopper!

I had my MW appointment today and she said bump is bigger than it should be both up and down and side to side and it should not be this hard - probably from too much water. In fact she could not feel the baby - something I've not been able to do. I'm already seeing the consultant tomorrow for my breathlessness/iron levels but she would have sent me there tomorrow anyway because of my size.

Hope everything goes well at your appointment.
  • skintchick hope you're ok after the car incident, were you in the car at the time?

It's always safe TOFD. The NHS say it is safe, and then add conflicting advice saying some women avoid it in the first trimester.

Modern hair colourants have much lower levels of chemicals and unless you decide to drink a few litres of the stuff there is no impact. That's the advice from emily oyster who had looked into the science of it all I believe.

I have terrible grey regrowth so ive had it done twice this pregnancy. I couldn't cope with how horribly old I looked when I was a bit sensitive about my age anyway!

God I've had a terrible night. Been awake for hours and everything hurts. UTI is worse and my whole body just aches, like I've strained all my muscles. Think I'll give up and get up. Maybe a shower would help.

TOFT I was going to say the same thing, my hairdresser said it's fine, she'd probably worry if you'd never had it done before or were having a full head of bleach but even then it's not really any more dangerous. I've got my next colour booked for 3 weeks before my EDD.

t2d I had a rough night as well, combination of heat and hubby not being there, had weird dreams as well, about being in hospital but not having packed anything. Guess my brain is telling me to start packing my hospital bag, just feels a little early at 30 weeks.

T2D - any word back from your test yet? Sorry you had a rough night, hope you get a chance to rest today.

Lemon - you too, hope you get a better nights sleep.

Skint - hope you are right and baby comes next week (post birthday though!)

Pomme - hoping that things are starting to move for you!

Hugs Tea - hope you are feeling better today. we have masses of DIY to do, but honestly, I'm just leaving it to DH to do. When I did do stuff, I felt rubbish, so we agreed its not worth the hassle.

cmace2 - great to being 3/5 engaged. Not 100% sure what it means, but thinking its something to do with the baby being head down in the pevis (?) so its a good thing!

Laila - Hugs to you too. Sounds like you did the right thing, stress is not good for you or baby.

lilmiss - agree with the others, monitor those stress levels. I have masses on at the mo (doing up house, trying to re-mortgage, changing doctors, dealing with issue in a flat I rent out, I could go on) I find that if I set myself one thing to get done a day, then that is enough to ease my stress. Today was dropping the forms into the new doctor. If your work is very stressful, can you tell them and try and take a wee step back if its possible? Hope you feel a bit better today.

Ali - wow, 9 and a bit weeks, i've not even thought to count how many weeks I have left!

EDIT - just counted there, 12 weeks! I'll finish on 17th Oct at the latest, when I am 38 weeks. If I feel the need to finish early, then I have kept 5 days A/L and my boss is very flexible about my finish date so we'll see how it goes. I also have the option of working from home, so that is good. I am struggling with work too right now, but more because what I am doing right now is very boring! Just need to plough through for two days, then I'll be back to the fun stuff!

hugs to those that need them and also to those who don't, cause who doesn't love a hug! :grouphug:

How is everyone sorting their baby clothes? I had sorted them into what it said on the label such as newborn, 0-3, 3-6, etc. Now I've realised that different brands have different interpretations on sizes like this. So then I was going to sort them according to lbs, but apparently different brands have different interpretations of this too! So I was going to just see how they actually compared in physical size, but googling it (yes I'm mental) you'll end up with long and thin ones, short and fatter ones. I'll end up with so many piles!! I realise I don't HAVE to be sorting them out so meticulously but I just love the little clothes and want them to be as organised as possible so I don't mind sorting them again and again :D .

Please someone tell me I'm not mental :rotfl: !!
