Congrats moonbabe.

Congratulations moonbabe x
Hope everyone is having a good day today!0 -
Evening ladies, hope everyone is OK.
I'm trying not to get myself wound up about moving house. We sold ours and made and offer on the new place 5 months ago and we have still not exchanged contracts!!
There have been several issues within the chain and we were finally given the date of 25th of July for moving. This was the 3rd date but it seemed it was all going smoothly this time and we were told we would be exchanging in the next 10 days.
On Friday yet another issue has been raised and I can see this ending with someone pulling out or yet another delay! The 25th of July is bad enough, I am going to be 31 weeks then so really I think if it goes any longer then we will have to forget the whole thing until after that baby is born.
We are currently in the 1 bed (new place is 3 bed) but it's a good size and we could manage with a baby quite easily. It's just more the uncertainty and constant messing around that is getting to me.0 -

I am a massive control freak and find it very hard with this not being totally out of my control. It must be even worse with the hospital messing you about. I hope you can kick your OH's butt into gear and get him out buying and doing the things you need. Be aggressive!
Fingers crossed it gets easier for you xxxAquamarineMonkey wrote: »
Robots hugs to you too, I really don't want an induction either. It was the right decision when I had DS to be induced as I had different risks that time, but I'm really against having one this time unless baby is getting distressed.
Sorry your OH isn't being more helpful.
....
I feel a bit silly wishing the baby out when I'm having a nice pregnancy and I feel really mobile but I'm desperate for her to come out naturally!
Thank you everyone. I read everything you said, & had a good chat with my husband, & he decided to work from home yesterday.... So at lunchtime instead of him going out with his colleagues he gave me a massage & well, yay
But, I'm still here & still pregnant. But happier, well , less stressed anyway.
Midwife yesterday was fantastic (not my usual one), I had quite low BP for me & she listened to my concerns & what my husband had to say about my hysterical crying on thurs. She called labour ward to say I'd prefer to discuss & check my stats tomorrow, instead of going in for an induction.
This worked. So was at foetal monitoring this morning for observations, chat, S&S etc... They had wanted to induce me today but didn't pressure, & with no signs of pre-E I decided to wait a couple more days.
my BP was too high at first, but came down to the highest of "normal" by the end.
&, this is a bit scary, I asked if they would do liver/kidney function blood tests... The dr said no, there's no point doing them frequently. When I protested that 36weeks was quite a while ago, she was surprised & frantically checked my notes... lesson here sadly is i was right to take an interest in my own care, as they are just too busy / make assumptions.... I was having blood drawn soon after!
The S&S was fine, I'd not met that midwife till today but she was nice. It was so fine that during it I told her I was fine, no pain, not really even uncomfortable... So could she give it all she could! Lol! :rotfl:
So, with the dr we agreed mon/tues for induction. But there's no beds till weds... Which conversely makes me worry it's too long away!:rotfl: what am I like?! I'm going back for obs on Monday anyway, so we are taking each day as it comes. Scary decision. Please forgive the badly spelt alias... Robots glad that was a positive experience for you. I forget why you are worried now, baby brain sorry. But don't panic - if they thought you really needed to be in before Weds they would make it happen, believe me. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Hope everybody is having a lovely weekend.
Robots pleased to hear you had a nice midwife, and no signs of pre-eclampsia. Hopefully your baby will decide to come naturally before Wednesday.
As I found at my last consultant appointment it's important to make sure you know what's written in your notes and know your own mind about what you want / have had agreed. They only seem to flick through briefly, although the stand-in consultant had to ask me what my usual consultant had written as he couldn't read her writing. They wouldn't have given me an internal check if I hadn't insited that it had been agreed I could have one and it was recorded in my notes.
Laila I hope you manage to get your move completed before baby comes, it was stressful enough buying my house when I was a first time buyer without a chain, I can't imagine buying and selling when pregnant and on a tight timescale.
sunshine your birth story sounded very eventful, hope you are both recovering well.
I've managed to talk OH round to my way of thinking about me refusing induction next week. He's taking 2 weeks paternity leave from my due date followed by 2 weeks annual leave and wants to take DS away for a few days abroad towards the end (so I can have a break from DS he says, but really it's because he wants a jolly and baby won't have a passport so we can't all go). I'm fine with him taking DS away for a few days as he knows it's conditional on me giving birth naturally with no complications, so I just explained that should I have to be induced I can see it ending in either a rupture, some form of intervention or another c-section which will mean no trip away for him as I'll need him at home for the full 4 weeks while I recover.
At least I know he won't dare overrule me now!
I started to feel uncomfortable last night, baby seems to have got into an awkward position which has aggravated an old back injury, and my pelvis is hurting when I move, still no signs of any contractions or anything happening yet though. I don't even want to get my hopes up that she's moving into position, as I was so disappointed when my cervix wasn't favourable last week so I couldn't have the S&S. She's probably just sat on a nerve or something!0 -

Thanks for that Skintchick... That's good to hear, & makes sense. I didn't protest, & didn't have to sign a waiver or anything, & my husband is more pro-induction (as he's worried about me & baby, whereas I'm just worried about baby!).

Sorry I've been a bit preoccupied lately.
Huge congratulations Moonbabe!!
Firey, I hope things are happening for you & you're well.
Skintchick - I hope you're feeling a bit better now? Keep talking as & when you can.
Ladies with tough workloads - I hope you're able to relax this weekend.
Purcy - I'm glad you're sorted out with your note.. Just don't do too much eh?Please forgive the badly spelt alias... I am a long time contributor who needed to reclaim anonymity for health/job related posts.0 -
fantastic news robots - and i think a lesson for us all to say what we want/need to not just the medics but everyone around us! X0

Umm, I think so WTDN.. Esp as Aqua is saying exactly the same thing re consultants / drs.
Aqua - it sounds like you've explained it in a way your hubby will understand! That's good. Isn't it frustrating having no signs though. Are you doing all the recommended things yet?
LailaP - you might have the smoothest quickest move ever as you might hit nesting when packing so throw away anything old, unused or dubious! Thus not having so much to move with or out away at the other end! Good luck hun.
On the EDD list it says to use Oil of Evening Primrose. I now have some (Aldi, 99p for 40!), but was wondering if anyone has seen any info on it elsewhere? I'm just curious. Please forgive the badly spelt alias... I am a long time contributor who needed to reclaim anonymity for health/job related posts.0 -
Other than walking about lots I'm not doing much yet, OH is working a nightshift tonight but has given the rest of his shifts for this week away 'just incase' (and he wants to go away at the end of the month - no finance skills whatsoever - I've told him he'll be making up for it by doing extra shifts once he goes back after paternity/annual leave).
OH said with a big smile he knows a way to get baby out, but I'm really not in the mood given my size and being uncomfortable so I've told him we'll see how we get on and I might take him up on his offer next week if nothing's happening :rotfl:.
I did buy Raspberry Leaf capsules but it says online not to use them if you've had a previous c-section, so the only other thing I'm going to try other than lots of walking is some fresh pineapple, but I'll wait for OH to finish work first, then I'm planning on lots of pineapple and lots of walks!
Had a false alarm this morning, woke up in agony at 5.30am, but took some paracetemol and managed to drop off to sleep for a bit longer. Got up at 7.30am and picked OH up from work, still had the equivalent of very bad period pains so went back to bed for a bit, woke at 10.30am in agony again and had what felt like a definite contraction as it brought tears to my eyes and lasted quite a while. Got OH to bring me some more paracetemol and ran myself a warm bath as the period pains weren't going after the contraction had finished, thought it might might be the start of early labour. Just wishful thinking / my body playing tricks though as nothing's happened since and everything feels normal again after the bath and paracetemol.
robots - not sure about the evening primrose oil. Hope you don't have much longer to wait.
I'm guessing things might be happening for firey a not seen her post for a couple of days - good luck!0
