  • Daisy hope you are feeling movement now. And hugs to sunshine- hope baby comes soon!

I have just got home from town, I have bought three primark nightshirts to go in my hospital bag- I had to laugh as another very pregnant lady was buying the same thing! I also bought several pairs of pants, maternity pads, breast pads and then to make myself feel better (I was rather tired and hot by then) some body butters for £3 each. I luckily haven't got any stretch marks yet, so need to keep slathering it on!

I am washing the lining and hood of the moses basket we have borrowed, I was hoping to dry it all outside this afternoon but it's clouded over now. Typical!

Lots of bits I am ordering on line are arriving- mattress protectors and sheets. Baby already is generating huge piles of washing and isn't due for another 9 weeks!

My stomach muscles have really split apart- I am getting a huge cone shaped bulge when I crunch my stomach up- I am nervous now that exercises won't be enough to knit them back together again as the gap is so big! I showed the midwife yesterday who told me off for doing it, and said she wasn't even going to look until baby is born, but reassured me they would get them fixed either way. I have visions of my insides bulging out for the rest of my life

I also have a weird bulge! If I tense my stomach muscles (which is every time I get up of the sofa or bed etc.) my stomach goes like a triangle shape and pointed in the middle! As if there is only muscle running all the way down the middle. Is that like yours, is it normal?

My abs do feel useless now, like they have lost all strength.

I have the cone shaped belly thing too. As I understand it, this is due to the fact that your obliques (the muscles that run down the sides) are under a lot less pressure from your growing bump than your rectus abdomini that run down the centre. Also, if your baby is in a vertical position, this will contribute to the triangle shape.

Mine really is very pronounced when I use my abs to sit up, but I don't think there's a massive gap there. I'm still belly dancing regularly and can still do belly rolls (they look pretty odd now though!) where I can see and feel my abs working, they're just very stretched out.

Hope everyone is doing ok. Congrats to claire and glimmer.

Hope baby is moving ok now daisie

Big hugs sunshine for being overdue. Hope baby gets his wriggle on soon.

Happy due date Firey :) Hope you and Sunshine feel labour vibes soon!

    Huge congrats Glimmer :j

Things going well here - we decided on Robin as the name for our little boy in the end.

Think something is up with my stitches though :( not sure everything is where it should be. Firey its good to hear your friend had a bad tear and a normal recovery. Fingers crossed I can get things sorted too.

Thanks everyone. Heartbeat was fine again but still not feeling much in the way of movement. She did do a big strong kick that the midwife felt when she was monitoring the hearbeat and I have had one or two more throughout the day.

I have to go back in on Friday for a consultant to scan me. Not actually sure why or what they are looking for tbh.

Feeling really low today. Damn hormones! I just laid on the bed and sobbed for about 15 minutes for literally no reason.

For those who had recently joined the Facebook group like me you will see that they now want to keep it more private (apart from apparently people who were on the long term TTC thread). I have left the group but I did really like the idea of being part of a Facebook group. If I made a new one for those of us who are currently on this thread but not already part of the current group, would people be interested?

When I lay down my bump is actually lop-sided lol. The bump is bigger on my right hand side and feel harder, it then slopes to the left. The left is where I feel all the kicks/ punches.

I did ask the midwife if she knew how the baby was laid but she said it was too early to tell.

Daisi, glad the heartbeat has remained strong and I hope all is revealed to be well on Friday. Hugs x

I would join a FB group you set up, although I do think I like the anonymity of a forum lol. Was the other group just MSE members?

I really should spend less time on forums/ FB whilst at work but I think I have lost interest in my job lately.

Yes, just MSE members. It would be a secret group that doesn't show up on your newsfeed or anything like that and people can't see the group unless I or one of us invited them to join it.

The anonymity thing is what was worrying the ladies on the current group. While they felt they 'knew' each other from TTC and being pregnant at the same time etc, they didn't 'know' all the new people who kept joining from this thread. I was thinking we could maybe make it a specific time period like say people who are due from now until the end of the year (so, second half of 2014) then it would be a limited group and we would 'know' each other. Then someone else could start a new one for people due in the first half of 2015, or whatever they wanted to do.

Anyway, I don't mind really, but if anyone thinks it is a good idea/wants to join, message me your email address that you use to log in to Facebook and I will set it up. I tried earlier to create a group in anticipation but apparently can't create it without having someone to join it - me alone is not a group according to Facebook! :rotfl:

I would join it daisiegg. Its a lovely group but I'm finding it quite hard I literally have no idea who anybody is ha.

edit: to say iv only just seen that post about them wanting to keep it a bit more private. fair enough, I would like to keep in touch more with people who iv been through the threads with anyway, like samtoby, sophiasmum, neverdespairgirl, mrs t_m etc lara44, sunshine to name just a few, so I'll have to hope they join the new group! iv left it now. x
