hope she moves today daisy! when I went on the monitor on Sunday night at the hospital my baby didn't move right until the end when she had some sort of party and hasn't stopped since, ha. they know how to worry us these cheeky girls!

well today is my due date and iv been awake for ages feeling really excited! even though I'm pretty 100% certain nothing will happen it just feels weird because me and my OH have been waiting for this day for sooo long and it always seemed ages away. iv had a word with baby and told her if she's coming late she has to come after 12 tomorrow as I'm going having a luxury pedicure at a spa with my friend, as a treat off OH ha, and I'm looking forward to it!
  • Robots, I cannot believe that the consultant has treated you that way especially as it is not your first appt with them. Will you have to see him again? I truly hope not. You will meet your baby soon enough. Hugs x
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

Aw Robots the consultant sounds awful!! Hope things get moving along on Monday so you do not have to see him again x

    Eeek Firey!!!

Daisi, hope you get more movements today x. I get lots of regular movements but can not say I have noticed a pattern like they tell you to look out for. I was only say to the hubby yesterday how I will miss my bump and baby movements, feel like I have a constant little friend :)

I think my LO has had a growth spurt, I measured on the average line at 26 weeks but at 28w was on the top line! People keep saying how huge I am! I have not got any stretch marks yet but I have started to get the line from my belly button to pubic area.

My OH was off work yesterday and managed to get loads of jobs done including putting up the curtain rail in the nursery. I think I will hang the curtains this weekend and get it all looking more like a nursery than a storage closet!

Congratulations glimmerofhope! Hope you are both doing well x Sorry it's a bit of a delayed response but I HATE the new forum set up and it put me off even looking at the forums!

    Happy due date firey!

What an eejit robots! Urgh. Offload all you like, nobody would expect you not to when you have to deal with airheads like that!

Daisiegg hope today is better for you and she gets a wiggle on, literally! Hayfever is driving me mad too, it just gets you down doesn't it.

AFM now ten days overdue and fed up. I had a right strop/cry last night at OH as soon as he walked in the door (much to his shock since the day before as soon as he got in the door I jumped on him for a BD to try and get baby moving :rotfl:) I've mentally prepared myself for birth but that preparation is waning and I'm starting to think this whole pregnancy baby thing is just a dream it's gone on so long! Keep trying to think in 48 hours I'll be in hospital and things will be moving albeit not in the way I wanted them to.

41+3 (or is it 40+10!!) xx

Have you tried nipple simulation sunshine? I have read that it can encourage labour. Either by using the palm of your hand or a breast pump if you have one.
Though, at 28+6 my nips are not yet sensitive so I am not quite sure what it may feel like at full term.

Yep... I don't know if for long enough though, I have been doing it daily and yesterday did get the breast pump out (but then got a bit worried as milk started coming and worried I was 'wasting' it!) will try again later, there's still time (thinking positively!)

I've had raspberry leaf tablets for the last 2 weeks, been BD'ing, hot curries, pressure points, walks when I can, sitting for hours on the bouncy ball... Apparently though only BD'ing works at opening the cervix, all the others only help once the cervix has started to open which at my sweep a week ago it hadn't. It's really been getting me down, I've had a pretty smooth pregnancy and I just thought it would end in labour starting naturally as it should etc etc. So it makes me feel a bit useless as a baby carrier atm *sad face*

Oh Sunshine I feel for you hun, hope baby does get a move on. When you say pressure points - have you used the one on your thumb? Am sure that was what got my first baby moving. I'll probably be using it from around 39 weeks this time - I don't want to go over this time.
Try not to stress - in less than a week your baby will be here one way or another. I think for most people how baby arrives pales into insignificance once they are here - just picture yourself cuddling your baby :)

Robots I'm horrified how you were treated by the consultant :(

My hips and pelvis are really starting to play up & it's getting me down - I'm still coping but I'm worrying that it will get worse and worse. I have MW appt tomorrow (at almost 36 weeks) do you think it's worth me mentioning? From speaking to a friend it sounds like my pelvis isn't aligned quite right - ideally I'd like to be referred to someone to fix it but I'm worried I'll be fobbed off with a long waiting time. I know there are people who get really bad with it and I'm currently coping, but I just don't want it to get to that point!!
  • aw sunshine I can't imagine how you're feeling, I was fed up yesterday and I'm not even classed as overdue yet! I think you're right, my midwife told me the only thing proven to work is BD-ing, it's hard though when it's this warm it's the last thing I feel like doing ha! re: the nipple stimulation I read on a website (I'll try and find the link) that it's only effective if done 3 times a day for an hour! I do not fancy that it sounds sore! haha. :eek:http://www.babycentre.co.uk/x1048142/can-nipple-stimulation-bring-on-labour

you're not useless, looooads of people end up being induced especially with their first. I feel like iv been pregnant forever too, this morning I woke up and for some reason my bump felt a bit flat and squashy and I forgot I was pregnant for about 2 seconds! ha x
