  • Anyone else suffered with a pain just under their ribs? It's strange, it's just under my right boob and I'm wondering if it's the underwire irritating it.
It's not achy, it almost feels like a painful spot or cut but there's nothing to see on the skin. Only had it since last night?

I am on bed rest too today. I went out this morning with DS but this afternoon I have felt dodgy on my feet.

If contractions are regular surely they are not Braxton hicks. I never had a warning with DS I had slight period pain for a few hours that I dismissed completely, waters broke and I was instantly contracting very quickly, DS was born a couple of hours later. The moment I get a sniff of a contraction I will be in the Hospital whether they send me home is another matter. The Midwife didn't believe I was in that much pain, said I really better 'pull myself together' because I was only at the beginning, reluctantly examined me and I was 6cm gone. I think she was shocked as the gas and air was next to me within minutes of that.

I am hoping for a water birth but if not I want to be mobile as pushing out a baby led down was not helpful I don't think well for me, I am thinking on all fours but will try some positions when I am there.

    Boobs are leaking again......

I had something similar for a while from 20wks, when I mentioned it to the consultant he was unhelpfully perplexed. I think it was largely that my bras were too tight for my expanding ribs and, as you say, underwiring in the way. It was very painful for a while but has completely gone now.

I have a faint linea negra but no extra hair / spots on my bump, just a LOT of bump! No leaking or even enlarged boobs yet either, but I'm going to buy some breast pads for the hospital bag now, hoping it will kick in at some point!

PS claire - did you get those amazon baskets for the furniture set and do they fit/look nice and how many did you get?

    Yes I did!

I ordered them and they arrived the next day! I bought 4 to fit the 4 gaps, they look really nice, they look exactly like the ones on the Kiddicare website.
  • Congratulations crabapple! He just couldnt wait could he.
Birdie- hope things get moving soon.

Ladies I'm queue jumping. Booked in for an induction tomorrow so I can have my ankle op ASAP. I work in the hospital so my nurse consultant colleague and a couple of the anaesatists I work with are going to keep a look out for me and check up on things. Hoping to still do our hynobirthing. Not sure at this point how quick theyll operate or if baby can stay in hospital with me.If someone can update the list that would be fab.

Shame I've missed out on primark maternity clothing. Think all mines been from new look and its washed and lasted really well.

Claire, those are the PJ bottoms I have. :) Sizing is pretty much standard. I'm a 12-14 on bottom and got a large because I like my lounge pants to be extra roomy but a medium would have fit me nicely. :)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

    Good luck Smartcat.

I've still been getting pains for 40 seconds every 10 mins for most of the day, although I haven't had any for the last 45 mins. Who knows what's going on. I really don't think they're BH based on the feel of them (low down and period pain like rather than just tightenings higher up), the regularity throughout the day and the fact they get stronger when I move around, but I do think I'm very early stages and may stop and start for days.
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!
