:T bravo Sunshine!! Ooh the numbers do themselves? Cool.
Mary - oh odd, I've no idea re Braxton hicks & where the borderline is with real contractions, but will go google now.
Mary - Thankyou but sadly not, though I did successfully go to my great aunts... Mum was surprised I'd got myself there (1.1/2 drive), I guess while I've done it before it was for other reasons, this was me being independent & she didn't much like it. Anyway, I was bang on time, mum was over 1/2hr late.
Mum embarrassed herself a few times, such as trying to correct me over the fact a friend of mine is 1/2 blind since she was 3; mum argued it was since birth! Erm, no, it was due to an accident. Just Really silly things, making herself look ridiculous.
It was a lovely family day, with 4 generations, aged 90 to 5yrs, or 32 weeks depending how you see it!! Even my 5yr old cousin came over with his grandad. I haven't seen him since a family tragedy 2 years ago, & it was Very Reassuring to have fun with & relate to a boisterous little boy. He was so sweet about my bump & his new baby cousin who he'll meet soon:)
However, she didn't like being "shown up", & a few days later actually engineered a weird phone conversation whereby she complained loudly at my non-existent comments, making dad think I was bullying her on the phone. I was shocked & had no idea what to do. I tried calming her down but he just play acted with herself. I'm not sure I've explained that well. Anyway, Mums now on holiday where there is v bad signal so I'm hoping distance will help perspective. Please forgive the badly spelt alias... Hi
I think it's time for me to join!
I am 26 +4 today. I can't believe how far along I have suddenly become. Edd is 27th August, and we are waiting for a surprise. We have a pink name and a blue name picked ready.
I have had problems with my lower back for years, and I bought a full length pillow (8.99 in lidl plus 2.99 for a pillow case) yesterday, and this is the first morning in a long while I have woken up feeling refreshed. Massive thanks to my mum for pointing out lidl has them on offer this week. I had been thinking about buying one, but was reluctant to spend too much, thinking I only need it for a few months. However, I could see me using it going forward after the baby arrives when my back is not feeling great.
We are in decorating hell at the moment- what started as giving a lick of paint to the nursery has turned into a full house decorating job- we are working to a deadline of the baby arriving, so it is hard work. We seem to have a lot of house!
We have bought a pushchair and car carrier so far, and have been lent a moses basket and stand- I just need to pick up a mattress at some point.
I have a glucose tolerance test booked in a couple of weeks time- I have a very strong family history of type 1 diabetes, and my mum is already starting to fret about how frequently I need to pee. Actually,
i feel fine myself, but it will be good to get it checked out.
Is anyone else struggling with the heat this weekend?0 -
welcome anyname
Im not struggling! - I am loving the sunshine. Im not particularly big at 38 weeks (somebody commented yesterday that they had only just realised I was pregnant - they thought I was just putting on weight!!) - and I love the sun normally. Spent most of the day yesterday sat outside watching my children play in the paddling pool and managed to sleep well. Today looks just as nice - so a lazy day is planned.
Mary - I am getting sharp pains and can feel that baby has definitely dropped lower. I definitely knew when I was in labour last time - and this is nothing like it ha ha! My DH went out last night and said it was his 'last night' out! He had a special occasion night out last pregnancy when I was 40w +2d and lo and behold I went into labour early the next morning when he was feeling rough as. He never wants to experience that again..
More decorating and sorting out my bedroom planned for this week. Baby can come any time after 39 weeks! - next Friday.0 -
Morning everyone,
Sorry not posted for a while have just had a quick read through and congratulations to all the new mummies and daddies :-)
I'm 38+5 and I'm very ready for 'Bob' to make their appearance!
I know people say 'make the most it to rest and relax' but when you can't sleep at night anyway and can't get comfy I can't help thinking at least if baby was here I would have something to do lol
Must say though I am enjoying not being at work in this lovely weather even if it is very warm at night which also doesn't help with sleep :-/
I'm looking forward to moving up the list - can't believe from where I started I'm up to number 9 :-)
Hope everyone is ok and you all have a lovely day

Robots Your mum sounds ridiculous - some people will argue over anything!
Well done on getting yourself there, it can be a bit scary driving so far away but it sounds like your mum is getting the idea that you're your own person.
The conversation after the party just sounds bizarre - is she one of those people who likes to play the victim eg making it sound like you've said something you haven't? I'd keep my distance for a while if I were you, you've been through enough this pregnancy already and you should be able to enjoy this time.
anyname hello, welcome and congratulations!
that pillow sounds wonderful! glad to hear it's making a difference, and for such a bargain price!
sophiasmum how's that little girly coming along? I remember you saying that with your others you didn't look very pregnant until right near the end, you must be in great shape
hope OH is not too hanging this morning just in case history repeats itself lol! :rotfl:
AFM, I'm taking my little man to see the Chuckle Brothers this afternoon. To me, to you! :beer:0 -

Happily Married since 20160 -
Mary im not in great shape I..normally a size 12-14 - for whatever reason I carry very neatly and have had small babies. ...measuring 3 weeks behind at mo.so thinking same again! !guess its genetics!0
-
12-14 sounds good to me! I'm usually a 16, but I've been as big as a 20 and as small as 12. It's all relative to you, your height and generally how you feel really.
I saw an article on Kerry Katona the other day about her wanting to lose weight and how she weighs a "whopping" 11 stone. My first thoughts were a) this is just a publicity stunt so she can release a fitness dvd and b) there's no way she only weighs 11 stone!0 -
Ha! When I saw her post recent pregnancy photos (v brave! And looking ok) my first thought was fitness dvd!!0
-
Hahaha! same! it's so just predicatable - first the oh I'm sooo fat look at how awful I look in my bikini and then a few months later she'll be a size 8 releasing a fitness dvd full of diet "secrets"
I actually don't think she looks that bad now, she's had five kids and one was only about a month ago! It's just the money hungry side of it that sounds out really.0
