Yay! Huge congrats NDG :j :j :j
Mrshappy so excited for you about meeting your little one this weekend. I hope the induction goes well.
Mary how are you doing? Hope the contractions start in earnest soon and that everything goes smoothly. Afm, I passed my PhD at the end of March - just a few corrections to do nowAlso some consultancy work left, not sure I will manage to get all completed before the end of May but I'll be doing my best.
Hugs to all xx:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
sunshine what a lovely pressie!
it feels weird doesn't it? I keep thinking any time now I am going to have a little baby, even though I know it's true it just doesn't feel real!
maybe once you're on maternity leave and relaxing a bit it might sink in?
Lara I'm good thanks - she's wriggling about lots so I'm taking that as a sign that she's not ready to come out yet. Which is good as I am deadset on going to this Prince gig tommorow night!
People have been joking that she might be born at the concert and saying things like "she might want to come out and party like it's 1999!" hahaha! xxx
I remember you saying you had some corrections to do, hope those are going well for you xx0 -
Congratulations ndg!
Firey I would say that midwife is talking rubbish & for me the contractions really did hurt it was like period pain x 1000, however not like a shocking cramp type pain, that would be awful! It's much more manageable than that! And you can have pain relief which you don't get for cramp! You'll be ok
The thing that worked for me was counting through each one which we'd practised at NCT, then I knew by my 13th breath it would be over! (We counted our breaths over a minute)0 -
Congratulations NDG - so glad you got your vbac
Chelsea Blue - glad you have finished work (at last!) ha ha! Bet youll still be running around now - doing stuff. I cant stop doing washing/ironing at the moment as the weather is so nice I have a compulsion to hang it on the line.
Ive got a really sore back....think that's it now until after I give birth. Midwife said it was because the baby had dropped - putting pressure on my back. Is restricting me a bit - but cant afford to get held up too much, starting to panic a little now as there is no way we can bring a baby home into our bedroom at the mo! Its a building zone and very dusty. Just had some more furniture and sliding doors for wardrobes delivered - am going to try and do a bit of painting today so that DH can get on with finishing it all on the weekend...0 -
Fed up been to see the doctor about pregnancy support bands and bleeding haemoroids! complete waste of time. Having back continualy is something I just have to put up with despite being in continuous pain! or do yoga exercise which releave it for all of about a minute! as for positure I mainly sit up and try to maintain as good as positure as possible. as for haemoroids there nothing to worry about even if they bleed! just ice them and eat lots of fibre, I am a veggie who has at least 5 a day if not 8 drink lots of fluids pretty much drinking a least 3-4 litres be it decafe tea milk and fruit juice a day. exercise I get out and walk a least half an hour! And I'm taking the revolting fybogel which causes me dirrherea! which is why I only take it ocassionaly! Rant over sorry! wouldn't mind if I hadn't had to wait over a week to see the doctor!
On a more positive note have descided on Henry George after my brother and my Hubby grandfathers that meant a lot to him for a boy. And Vera Diana Louise after my great aunt, my gran and our sisters. Henry apparently means ruler of the house and Vera means truth, hope and faith.
Congrats to all the new mums and could someone please add me to list we team yellow and due on the 11th august.:kisses3: Married 29th September 20120 -
Good luck VickyVics xneverdespairgirl wrote: »Haven't had (or now got) time to read anything, but Aethelbald (real name firming up, but not definite, yet) arrived at 5.43am on Monday morning (12th May). We got home yesterday, but I haven't touched my computer until now, and my mother's just arriving so I'll be quick now and post a photo and more details later.
When I posted to say I was in false labour, events turned out to prove me wrong - and so having started labour about 6pm on Sat, OH Isaac and I went to hospital on Sunday afternoon and it was definitely labour by then.
He's lovely, gorgeous, utterly wonderful, and has fair skin, reddish-brown hair, and is altogether rather sweet. I accept I'm a wee bit biased, but still in post-birth euphoria!
Did manage VBAC, by the skin of our teeth, forceps delivery with C-section about to follow immediately, which fortunately wasn't needed.
Hope my due-date-buddies Mary and Vicky are happy and healthy too.

Hello ladies, think I belong in this group now, i'm 24 weeks today (team blue) due on 4th September but having 5th c-section towards end of August0
-
How many weeks are you Scotsbride??? I had a different sort of sore back earlier on and some quite sharp pain. Then I had a few weeks with no pain at all (:)) but since about 37 weeks I have a constant ache and it does coincide with baby engaging. Just hoping this doesn't mean I get contractions in my back again like with DD2 - give me stomach contractions any day!!!0
