lovely pics NDG... good luck Mrs Happy! Glad you got to see the Prince gig marywooyeah bet it was amazing!

My first day after finishing work has been OK. Shopping was good but tiring. Had a hospital appointment this morning, saw a doctor at 20 weeks because of my BMI and he said provided all was well I'd still be able to use the midwife led birth suite, and my community midwife said the same.

Well today, this amateur doctor tried to tell me that the birth suite was a no go because of my BMI being 37 when the limit is 35. I told him in no uncertain terms that that was b*****cks, and that given my GTT is negative, my iron is spot on, baby is measuring exactly right, placenta is clear, I have no prior medical conditions, my BP and urine have been constantly clear etc etc etc etc there was no way I will accept that I can't go to the birth suite. !!!!!!, my boobs (and I mean prepregnancy) must account for about 3 points on that stupid BMI scale! I have been so fortunate that I have had no problems through pregnancy and they should credit that.

Anyway he got a senior midwife in who said that she agreed with me and when the doctor told me to ring this other midwife at the birth suite to confirm she told me not to worry as she fully supports women who want more natural and active labours/births. So I guess we will see, if the final decision is a no based on BMI alone I'll just tell them I'm having a home birth then I'm sure they will soon back down haha x

sunshine that sounds really frustrating. I think they put too much emphasis on bmi sometimes, like you said you've had a great healthy pregnancy so far so why go on about it so much? I hope you get what you want in the end anyway.

I had my 34 week midwife appointment today. all was good, she said baby was head down and happy but she said my bump hadn't grown since last time, it was still measuring 31 weeks. so she sent me for a growth scan at the hospital, I went straight away because they had a cancellation. it was all fine though, little miss was measuring at an estimated 5lb 3oz which is totally normal apparently. I was excited to see her on the scan again but she's so big I just got to see random bits, like her head, and then her bum haha.

sunshine good on you for standing up for yourself it's great to hear that the midwives supported you

I hope that smarmy doctor will see past a stupid BMI figure (which are completely inaccurate anyway) and view women holistically in the future.

And yes thankyou the concert was brilliant - you would not believe that Prince is 55 the way he was dancing and playing guitar around the stage!

I'm pretty impressed that Princess kept her end of the bargain and stayed put - I've told her that she can come out anytime now so I'll just have to see when she decides to make an appearance!

Firefrenzy glad to hear that little miss is doing well - she sonds a fine weight for your length of pregnancy, sounds like you are just lucky to have a neat little bump!

Also I tried to do a list earlier but the coloured markers with the baby colours seem to have disappeared - I knew I'd mess it up lol!

I've been thinking of you all, sorry for not posting or lurking... A few family (mother) issues, being silly busy, plus a wheezing cough keeping me up at night have put me out of sorts this week.

Re the list... We've lost colours & numbers & links to links like the Contraction Master Timer now.
I'm not complaining, , just observing before anything else goes odd. And asking SamToby how she did it as it's obviously not as easy as she made it look!:T

Adding in the colours from scratch now would be nearly impossible on my phone... But I'm happy to do it next time I fire up the computer.

I guess it's happened as when u copy & paste formatting is lost as it only copies what's shown on the screen, not the bracketed hidden formatting?

So I *think we need to go back to the last coloured list, 'quote' it, then remove the quote bracket formatting, then update it to make it tally with Scots brides updated version... And the re-put in the numbers? Will the original links & colours then stay put?
SAM TOBY is this right? I'm not asking you to do it! Just wondering HOW you did it!

think I've got it... it is as you thought robots, but the numbers put themselves in somehow which helps! Must be in the formatting somewhere! I've added in scotsbride and moved ndg to the birth list, hopefully we will hear news from mrshappy next!

Robots I was wondering if you'd maanged to sort things out with your mum, sorry to hear you're still having problems with her

It's a shame she can't just be happy for you at this special time. Did you get to meet up with your aunt afterall? x

I keep getting sharp braxton hicks contractions but they're lasting about 30 seconds - they really hurt!!! I can feel her head pushing down at the same time too which I think is causing the sharpness.

I went to the midwife this morning and she offered me a sweep, but I don't want to disturb the baby so said I would consider it if I went 7 days over. I don't think this is labour now, but my OH is so jittery everytime I so much as cough he jumps up asking if the baby is coming lol!

I wish there was a way to know that you are in labour for definite!
